| Oct 11 01:35:21 | Professor Unstable's Chemical Combustion | ♥ 1 | Very fun and interesting take on the theme! Unfortunately magenta + yellow and yellow + blue didn't seem to react at 95 and 100 degrees respectively, possibly related to the low performance I'm getting on my macbook (about 2 fps). | |
| Oct 11 01:49:25 | 14m 04s | Unstable Spaceball | ♥ 1 | Tough game, but nifty and simple. You do a good job of introducing new mechanics one at a time |
| Oct 12 07:42:06 | 29h 52m | Life Gives You Lemons | ♥ 1 | A fun narrative with great art! The attention to detail is also impressive |
| Oct 12 08:22:19 | 40m 13s | Cairn | ♥ 2 | Very elegant and meditative. The camera movement seems a bit slow, but I suppose that contributes to the game's calm atmosphere |
| Oct 20 14:40:28 | 198h 18m | Vitamin D-Ficient | ♥ 1 | The jumped-on blocks destroying themselves is a fun concept that makes the game a bit more puzzly. The music was really charming too |
| Oct 20 14:52:13 | 11m 45s | Herman's Fallacy | ♥ 1 | Very tough! High marks for humor and audio, that was great |
| Oct 20 15:04:16 | 12m 03s | Stable Tables | ♥ 1 | Getting stuck on walls was frustrating, but overall a good entry. Great music, art, and concept. It took me longer than I care to admit to realize the food had to match what they were thinking lol |
| Oct 21 06:47:37 | 15h 43m | NEKONOVA'S NOT HOME | ♥ 1 | The lack of camera control and limited movement (can only jump off a blue object once, then you're drifting) contributed to a sense of helplessness that I would normally call a flaw in a game. But I wouldn't call it a flaw here. The whole game seems to be about helplessness since we're playing as a cat pushed around by forces we can't comprehend let alone control. Nekonova's Not Home captures that feeling better than any of the other LD games I've played. That plus the gorgeous art (especially the black and white spawning animation) and sound design make this a super impress entry. My high score was 13 by the way. |
| Oct 21 07:11:33 | 23m 56s | Fission Friends | ♥ 2 | Great art and dialogue. Unfortunately I didn't get very far because of the controls and difficulty. |
| Oct 21 07:27:25 | 15m 52s | Beff Jezos: Time Shift Manager | ♥ 2 | Fun puzzle, and the last level was a good amount of difficulty. The music was too loud at the beginning to hear hear the instructions, but at least the music is good. |
| Oct 21 07:43:26 | 16m 01s | Defence Extraction | ♥ 0 | Stellar music! I evaded the rocks by holding up for a while, then just enjoyed the music |
| Oct 21 08:01:17 | 17m 51s | 绝地天通(Babel Blocks) | ♥ 1 | Good art and concept. I especially liked the news announcements at the bottom. I do think it would be nice if blocks could be unlocked, or if achieving a certain height let you buy more blocks. Overall, great game! |
| Oct 21 10:08:16 | 2h 06m | HONK III | ♥ 1 | Very technically impressive homage to Doom, but serious performance problems for me on Windows. The first level was about 1 fps, and improved to 2-5 after that. I got the blue key, but after looking around for a few minutes still couldn't see what the red button had changed |
| Oct 21 10:55:19 | 47m 03s | Unstable "AI" | ♥ 1 | Simple concept with good art. Pretty good by LD standards. Only thing I'd suggest is some way for the game to get harder over time so that a high score feels like an accomplishment. Also, I appreciated the rare appearance of the all seeing eye 👀 overshot_it.PNG |
| Oct 21 11:32:26 | 37m 07s | Pinfall | ♥ 2 | Very difficult and frustrating, but well worth it! Comparing this to Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy may be cliche at this point, but they are very similar in that progress is difficult and slow, and it's all taken away very quickly. Also similarly, the player is helpless to watch as they fall, minutes of work being erased every second. I think this game is less frustrating because losing progress is sometimes attributable to randomness (rather than sucking at the game), and there are also some rare boosts from the bouncy things 12HoursLater.PNG |
| Oct 21 12:02:41 | 30m 15s | Space Station 8 | ♥ 2 | @yopox Cool level! Lots of personality with so few pixels. I did get stuck inside a pillar when I walked off the right edge of the platform though |
| Oct 21 13:14:35 | 1h 11m | Unstable Spore | ♥ 1 | What a fun little deck builder! The replicating spores do a great job of creating a sense of urgency. Well done |
| Oct 21 14:23:56 | 1h 09m | A Gift in Good Faith | ♥ 2 | What a difficult puzzle! Some of those torch traps were kinda precise to set up, but definitely rewarding when they paid off. Great music as well, gj! Capture.PNG |
| Oct 21 14:37:40 | 13m 44s | Coven | ♥ 0 | Fantastic art and story. The mechanics are simple, which is refreshing after playing a bunch of games that expect you to remember what 10 different buttons do. |
| Oct 21 15:41:59 | 1h 04m | AllRound | ♥ 1 | What a fever dream! I know some people would prefer different graphics, but I think having labeled circles makes this really unique and fun. I really like how bumping into the farmer makes the whole explainer text move around too |
