| Apr 26 07:18:58 | Archeo | ♥ 3 | Really nice game! I liked the interface and graphics, and the multitasking aspect of cleaning artifacts while digging up more. The broken items bug was pretty harmful - 7 out of my 10 shovels "broke" for no apperant reason moment after I mass-bought them - and the mud was much harder to clean than the rock, but other than that, great entry! I managed to have 377 time left (score?) in the end. | |
| Apr 26 07:32:33 | 13m 35s | Ocelot Safari | ♥ 1 | Nice game! As others have said, it's a bit unclear, but I did find out you could either burn logs to create a camp fire or use them to destroy water, which was an interesting mechanic. I also liked the mechanic of destroying stuff when turning and grabbing objects. I did, however, get stuck twice by accidently surrounding myself with objects on all side, which forced me to restart, but other than that, good entry! |
| Apr 26 08:27:20 | 54m 47s | The Key | ♥ 3 | Very nice game! I liked how every single level had different graphics and music, and the texts (with the quality voice acting) before each level added a lot. The levels were a bit confusing, but other than that, great entry! |
| Apr 26 09:32:46 | 1h 05m | Afraid to Turn | ♥ 3 | Very nice game! The sounds were amazing, and I loved the way you became stronger as the game went on, but getting too strong would make you lose. I found the trek back to the wizard appropriately stressful, and I reached him a few seconds before the full transformation, which was satisfying. I think the throwing mechanics would have worked better if you could just click to throw at the mouse, but other than that, great entry! |
| Apr 26 12:15:35 | 2h 42m | How deep is this rabbit hole anyway? | ♥ 1 | Nice game! I liked the graphics and randomaly selected levels, even though they repeated after a while. The weird effects are also an interesting "punishment". I feel like a proper death screen and high score display would go a long way, but nevertheless, it was very fun! My high score is (if I remember correctly) 318. |
| Apr 26 12:33:29 | 17m 54s | Upset Crab | ♥ 2 | Excellent game! I really liked the crab character with its ridiculously long sword. The game was very satisfying - hitting about 5 enemies with a single strike always felt good. The attack ending lag was a bit long, and there was one annoying spike section which required two very well-timed rolls that felt a bit out of place, but other than that, great entry! |
| Apr 26 19:55:03 | 7h 21m | Savestate | ♥ 1 | Really nice game! It starts simple, but all the different twists on the partial save-state were very interesting. I liked the ending :) As others have said, the controls aren't very intuitive and while save-stating the music is a nice touch, it sounds pretty bad, but other than that, great entry! |
| Apr 27 10:54:44 | 14h 59m | Wiki Vortex | ♥ 3 | Excellent game! It was way more fun than I thought - I was late to a lecture desperately trying to return to an obscure type of worm (I forgot its name, but it began with A and was ~15 letters long). I failed. But afterwards, with a much easier article, I managed to finish it with only ten steps: Screenshot 2021-04-27 134916.png All in all, it was very fun. My only criticism is the wildly varying difficulty - maybe add a difficulty slider, counting the amount of pages linking to the starting one determining it? Other than that, excellent entry! |
| Apr 27 19:02:01 | 8h 07m | Make A Wish | ♥ 1 | Very nice game! I really liked the audio - it was very relaxing. I also liked your pretty original take on the theme: playing a coin is a pretty unique idea. The post-jam improved pretty much everything wrong with the original - my only critisicm is that it starts a bit slow, without any obstacles for the first ~150 meters, but other than that, great entry! My high score in the compo version is 437. |
| Apr 27 19:31:09 | 29m 08s | DeepTech Industries | ♥ 0 | Incredible game! It was a ton of fun, and I admit that I enjoyed wrecking too many walls in your levels instead of trying to play them "the normal way". The idea of playing from the viewpoint of the missile is ingenious. Level 4 was a bit annoying because of the server, and I wrecked so many walls my computer could barely handle it, but other than that, excellent entry! |
| Apr 28 18:37:01 | 23h 05m | Path to Tribute | ♥ 1 | Nice game! I liked the feeling of a slowly growing camp, constantly gaining more gold and workers. It was very confusing at first - I wasted all my gold without building a trading post, and it took me a while to get un-stuck - but it was pretty fun afterwards. I also lost randomly, which is a shame as I was relatively close to finishing. One thing I would've improved is allowing you to constantly keep building the same building again without selecting it again, but other than that, good entry! |
| Apr 28 20:10:06 | 1h 33m | Parasite | ♥ 0 | Really nice game! The worldbuilding was intriguing, and the graphics were excellent. I feel like there is a lot to be done with the parasite mechanic - now I wish that theme would've won :) The camera was a bit slow and I got lost for a few minutes in the first section, but otherwise, great entry! |
| Apr 29 17:16:56 | 21h 06m | Chameleon Excavation | ♥ 1 | Really nice game! I loved the graphics and music. Adding all those graphic options also helped a lot with performance, although on the lowest resolution it was pretty much impossible to see anything. It would've been nice having the option to rotate controls by 90 degrees - I keep going to the wrong place because the current controls weren't intuitive for me - but other than that, great entry! |
| Apr 29 17:30:58 | 14m 02s | DIGIDIG | ♥ 1 | Incredible game! It took me a while to understand what was going on, but I couldn't stop playing afterwards until I go an S rank! The main mechanic is a perfect example of easy to learn, hard to master. I liked pretty much everything, but maybe displaying the optimal solution after playing would be cool? Excellent entry! The post above me beat me by 1 second (and got that sweet 42), but here's my high-score still: Screenshot 2021-04-29 202555.png |
| Apr 29 17:42:52 | 11m 54s | Vinewell | ♥ 1 | Pretty nice game! It took me a while to figure out the whole sharpening & lengthening the rope mechanics, but it was pretty interesting afterwards. I also liked the style of the game. The window was too high to display fully on my computer, but other than that, great entry! My high-score was 779. |
| Apr 29 17:50:56 | 8m 04s | FlickWest | ♥ 1 | Really good game! The fact that you managed to create a working online game in two days is amazing - I couldn't make one in two weeks :) I really liked the characters, reminded me of Worms a bit. It would've been fun adding a quick-draw element to the second phase I think, what with it being Wild West themed, but otherwise, great entry! |
| Apr 30 09:53:13 | 16h 02m | Fallumns | ♥ 1 | Incredible game! The twist was completely unexpected and amazing. The amount of content was also huge. To be honest, I originally quit after a few minutes, not getting what all the fuss (in the Feed) was about, and only returned to it after seeing the second post mentioning your game. I think with the main twist introduced earlier, or at least a mention of it on the game page, more people would play long enough to see your full game. Other than that, amazing entry! |
| Apr 30 17:23:24 | 7h 30m | Hope Springs Eternal | ♥ 1 | Nice game! The graphics were certainly unique - I liked all the special effects like the trail and foreground dots. I also really liked the music. It played a bit weirdly - the player sometimes slowed down for no explicable reason, and there were many times where I missed a jump - but other than that, great entry! |
| Apr 30 17:32:49 | 9m 25s | LD Double Feature: D'pur & Deepir | ♥ 1 | Really nice game! I liked the game-boy style graphics, and obviously your take on the theme :) The gameplay was also interesting, constantly switching between sides. I found the transition a bit jarring, however - maybe a smooth transition of control, with a better indicator of who was the active player would've helped? Other than that, great entry! Here's my highscore: Screenshot 2021-04-30 202829.png |
| May 4 11:19:51 | 89h 47m | There, Again | ♥ 1 | Really nice game! Took me about half an hour, but I managed to beat it without skipping a single level! This is pretty much the most polarizing game I've played this LD, so I'll start with what I liked (most of it). I really liked the graphics & animations - all those little particles, and the death/win transitions added a lot. The music was okay, but I really liked how it slightly changed for each player. The main mechanic of playing each level twice, with slight differences, was also very cool. The amount of levels & content was astounding. As a fan of rock-hard platformers like Celeste, I enjoyed most levels - which tended to be difficult but fair - but not all. Which brings me to my main gripes with this game: not enough checkpoints and unclear mechanics. Too many levels had 2 (or even 3) almost unrelated sections, where you had to beat the first one(s) over and over again if you failed the later one(s). This was especially painful in the second-to-last level: I failed the throwing-rock-at-wall section ~10 times, which forced me to repeat the previous challenging one ~30 times before I won. It was not very fun. Which brings me to my second gripe: I still don't understand how throwing-rock-at-wall sections work. I just kept failing them, and even when I did succeed, it felt more like luck than skill. Maybe a drawing of what I should do would help? Something similar happened with the jump & throw mechanic: it took me dozens of attempts before I figured out what you meant, which could've been prevented with a simple drawing/video. Yes, this is a rant, but these things just frustrated me enough to write this. Also, I know you added the ability to skip levels - which is wonderful - but my pride wouldn't let me use it :) Other than that, it was excellent! There were a few instances of slowdowns - maybe adding an executable version would help? - but otherwise it ran perfectly, without any bugs. This is one of my favourite games this jam (and definitely my longest comment), and only the above frustrations prevented it from being my favourite. Overall, incredible entry! |
| May 4 18:20:49 | 7h 00m | Labyrinth | ♥ 2 | Really nice game! I liked the graphics - all those sweet lighting & particle effects - and the mood was excellent. The gameplay was a bit weird - I didn't understand what was going on most of the time, mostly wandering around aimlessly. The minotaur was approprietly scary, however. The spikes killed me way too suddenly at time, but other than that, great entry! This was my highscore: Screenshot 2021-05-04 211706.png |
| May 12 18:57:48 | 192h 36m | Deeper or deeper | ♥ 1 | Really nice game! I liked all the different versions of the word deeper - it was very unique. The minimalistic art style was also great. Most of the time (about 80%) the top option was correct - not sure whether that was intentional or just luck. Here's my highscore: s.png |
| May 13 15:22:40 | 20h 24m | The Internet | ♥ 1 | Very nice game! I really liked the graphics, and all the surprising elements - the hiding viruses, cyclic level & the [REDACTED] at the end (really didn't see that coming, and it was very cool). There was one section which required you to die repeatedly while slowly reducing the amount of viruses, but other than that, great entry! |
| May 13 17:36:39 | 2h 13m | Deeper & Deeper | ♥ 1 | Really nice game! I loved your take on the theme - I tried to implement a similar rope mechanic, but couldn't get it to work, so it's nice seeing someone who actually did! The graphics were great for a game made in just a couple of hours, and I loved the sound effects. The second level was a bit too hard, but other than that, great entry! |
| May 13 18:24:41 | 48m 02s | So-so-phia | ♥ 1 | Incredible game! This is my favourite game I've played thus far - incredible graphics, fun gameplay and I loved the humour - I laughed all throughout it. The jokes were just incredible. The music was a bit repetitive, but that's pretty much the only bad thing I have to say about this game - amazing entry! |
| May 16 16:19:16 | 69h 54m | The Depths of Despair | ♥ 0 | Amazing game! I loved the visuals, and the fireballs were incredibly fun to use! The game had a pretty huge amount of content, and I enjoyed every section. The glitchy lighting was a bit weird, but as someone who tried to incorporate cell-shading in Unity too, I know how annoying it is to set up properly. If I remember correctly, setting all environment objects to static and/or modifying the LightingData somehow fixed it. Other than that, incredible entry! |
