Oct 7 16:08:41 Looper Cooper ♥ 0 Really well-executed concept and the visuals are solid too. It is, as everyone’s mentioned, quite hard—the best I’ve done is 440—but clearly with practice one could get way better at it. The proximity sound cues are a nice touch. Great work!
Oct 7 16:11:35 2m 54s VPR.WAV ♥ 0 This is cool! Would’ve loved to see more of it. The visuals are great, but I think the music is my favorite part; it fits the style perfectly.
Oct 7 16:17:20 5m 45s Hypnic Fall ♥ 1 Interesting concept! I like the visual style—the sort of tangly designs are really unusual. The gameplay feels a little unforgiving: there’s a point at which you can get to the bottom and keep jumping up and falling through the same blue energy thing, unable to progress any further. Some way to either save yourself or eventually fail would help. Overall, though, good work.
Oct 7 16:22:45 5m 25s The Song of Spiral Sam ♥ 1 This is utterly bizarre and I love it. Great work.
Oct 7 16:32:35 9m 50s Space Loop ♥ 3 This is really impressive! For a game made in a weekend it’s really elaborate—in particular I’m amazed y’all implemented multiple minigames. Did find myself constantly getting lost; some variety in the environment would have helped a lot with that. I also wasn’t clear on how to solve some of the object-finding puzzles: in particular, the missing power module thing seemed to have a shelf right across from it with a bunch of things that looked like they’d fit, but as far as I could tell there was no way to pick any of those up. As others mentioned, the skybox outside the ship is incredibly pretty—it would have been great to have some more windows in the other rooms to see it through (might also have helped with the disorientation issue). Overall, nice work!
Oct 7 16:40:57 8m 22s SwingShot: Stuck in a musical loop ♥ 1 Wow, this is absolutely brilliant. I’m not much good at rhythm games so the level with the spikes is where I had to stop, but I *love* the concept and the execution. The art is really well done, the music’s superb, and the gameplay is just so, so elegant. Favorite game I’ve played in this LD so far. Terrific work.
Oct 8 15:56:34 23h 15m The Road Taken ♥ 0 Cool premise! It’s fun once you get the hang of it. The portal mechanic was interesting, though the implementation seemed a little off—wherever I landed on one portal, I emerged at the left edge of the other, which made it hard to use it for platforming. Great music as others have said. Nice work.
Oct 8 16:06:18 9m 44s Group Chat ♥ 2 This is charming—the art style and music make me think of really early CGI shorts. It was fun running around in front of people to try to get them into the frame of my camera.
Oct 8 16:18:16 11m 58s Hanrick Hornigold and the Amazing Toothbrush of Liberty ♥ 1 I like this! The music’s really pleasant and I really like the pixel art of the station. Quirky and imaginative writing. Nice work, and congrats on your first solo game.
Oct 9 15:46:50 23h 28m Stuck in the Clock ♥ 1 I like this! Very chill and relaxing, with some nice visual flair. The eyes on the character are a clever touch—that small detail adds a lot. Interesting mechanic too; haven’t seen angular momentum used like this before. Great work.
Oct 9 16:05:17 18m 27s Looping ♥ 1 This is really clever! I liked how quickly it broke down the expectation that you should do what the tutorial was telling you to do. I’m afraid I got stuck on level 9—thought it might be something to do with interacting with the timer in the corner (which otherwise didn’t seem to have a point?) but I couldn’t figure it out. It sounds like there was a lot more after that, though. Nice work!
Oct 10 17:24:19 25h 19m Cursed Temple ♥ 1 This is cool! Really original concept—a bit like classic programming games but more analog. It is pretty hard; I think one thing that would help with that a lot is being able to see the previous track you made when setting up a new one, so you could more easily see where to adjust your previous timing. The visuals are simple but well-polished, and the sounds are good too; this has a ton of potential. Nice work.
Oct 10 17:34:17 9m 58s The Ribbon ♥ 1 Wow, this is brilliant! Really innovative gameplay and terrific puzzle design. Great visuals, and the music’s good too. I gave up on the level with the green/yellow/purple keys when I had all three and died to one of the zapper things; some kind of checkpoint system would make that less frustrating. Still, though, incredible work; this is one of the best platformers I’ve seen in LD.
Oct 10 17:46:53 12m 36s THE INNER CIRCLE ♥ 1 This is incredibly impressive—I can’t believe how much y’all built in a weekend. It was a little hard to tell what I was meant to do; I wandered around the second level a bunch, dodging guards (?) etc., but I didn’t find any keys or anything that would get me closer to the conference rooms. I think with some more patience I could probably have figured it out, though. Nice work!
Oct 10 17:53:14 6m 21s Impact Juggling ♥ 1 Wow, this is really clever! The name caught my eye and the gameplay lives up to it perfectly. It’s polished and elegant: simple concept, flawlessly executed. I’m not great at it—my high score’s only 560—but it makes me want to keep trying. Great work.
Oct 10 18:03:10 9m 56s The Looppy ♥ 3 This is really delightful. Novel concept / mechanic that works well, and it’s super charmingly presented; the art and music are excellent too. Glad I got to meet a goat. Nice work!
Oct 10 18:18:04 14m 54s Rainy Eternity in Limbo ♥ 3 This is really charming! Terrific pixel art, the music’s great, and the attack sound is delightful. As others have mentioned, the projectile room is a bit of a pain. I also found the fast-food boss disorienting in full screen—the screen shake is really aggressive. Overall, though, great work!
Oct 14 14:46:26 92h 28m Looper ♥ 1 This is cool! Simple enough concept (at least as far as I got), but super well executed; the visuals work well and the music suits it perfectly. I’m not sure the timer mechanic really works, since you have to wait a while to see what your changes do, but maybe I’m just not good enough at it. 😅 Nice work.
Oct 14 14:51:27 5m 01s Loopsky ♥ 1 This is a clever mechanic and way trickier than it first appears. Really elegant puzzler. The music suits it well too. Nice work!
Oct 14 14:54:06 2m 39s Stuck in a Froot Loop ♥ 0 My antivirus identified this as having "Trojan:Win32/Fuery.C!cl". Any idea why?
