Oct 8 13:25:36 Words against Numbers ♥ 1 Nice game. I tried to come up with a word game where you start with "nothing" too, but didn't even consider something like this! One little thing that would improve it is if the decimals *always* moved the numbers to a different row. Sometimes they got moved to the same row so it wasn't clear that decimals were the things that made stuff move rows.
Oct 8 13:33:02 7m 26s nothing but everything ♥ 2 @namnam "i felt sometime force to give th wrong answer (for the biggest rock)" Not sure how you can say it's the "wrong answer", the whole point is that the biggest rock wouldn't be able to fit on a piece of paper. Anyway, I really enjoyed this game. It has a different feeling than most jam games, and makes some simple yet profound observations. Great work!
Oct 8 13:53:24 20m 22s Hettinger ♥ 0 Really like the subtle use of audio between the days. I don't think the game should let you go to sleep when you still have more than $10 worth of stocks though. It was kind of annoying to lose the game just because I didn't have $10 in the bank when I pressed the sleep button (even though I had much more money worth of stocks I could have sold). The log on the left side is a great touch. I'm not sure why your "score" at the end is your greatest amount of money owned, rather than your total net worth. A player could always sell then re-buy all their stocks every turn if they wanted their true "greatest money owned" to be the highest. Overall it was enjoyable, gives me that "gotta keep the number going up" feeling like playing a clicker, but more interesting.
Oct 8 13:58:36 5m 12s The drop to the top ♥ 2 Neat game. Love the rimlit look of the pieces. I think the physics feel a bit too floaty, and it would be good if the players just had a tad more control.
Oct 8 14:15:19 16m 43s World Collector ♥ 1 This is great! Really smart mechanic and level design. Not sure the music fits the game quite right, but it's still really well made, especially considering the 48 hour timeframe. Solid.
Oct 8 21:18:39 7h 03m Words From Nothing ♥ 1 So good! I tried to come up with a word game myself starting with the letters "NOTHING" on the board, but didn't even consider randomly generating the words as you draw lines, genius! The game was incredibly hard until I discovered the reroll rule, which made it stil hard but at least bearable. At first I thought the game would only give me "everything" if there were no other viable words that fit, but that turned out to not be the case. I came up with a way to solve it using reroll that was still tricky, but at least got it done pretty quick after that. Proof: https://i.imgur.com/noIBFO5.png Here was my way to approach the solution (spoilers): I would spell a long word, and then with any E/V/R I would reroll 3 letter words around them until I got EVE or EVER, then turn that into EVERY and extend that to a 10 letter word and hope to get "EVERYTHING". I got "EVERYPLACE" and "EVERYWHERE" a bunch of times first. The same thing would be possible working backwards from "THING" but it's harder (you also end up with words like UNCLOTHING). Oh and here's what my board looked like right before I beat it (again, spoilers): https://i.imgur.com/PeizHMv.png One bit of feedback is that it would be nice if the reroll went through all the possible letters in order instead of truly random like it is now. Sometimes you have to click a lot to get to a letter you know is valid. Anyway, that's about it. Just wanted to say I thought this game was great and it's a really unique experience.
Oct 8 21:26:25 7m 46s Cubies ♥ 1 fun little 2D physics sandbox, not much game here though! :)
Oct 8 21:39:48 13m 23s Insert Title Text Here ♥ 1 Love the narration, gives it that Stanley Parable or Getting Over It vibe.
Oct 9 01:32:18 3h 52m Scrawl A Draw ♥ 0 Silly but fun
Oct 9 13:09:33 11h 37m Oriopia ♥ 0 Pretty cool, but it's a pain that there isn't any kind of health indicator (or do you just die after being hit once?). I would get far but then get stuck on geometry for a split second and suddenly get killed by an enemy with a sword.
Oct 11 13:22:40 48h 13m The Song of Calirum ♥ 2 This is VERY good. The only thing that would make it better is if the game told you what each color dot on the card was when you rolled over them (same with the cards in your hand). Ideally each color dot should also have its own symbol to make them feel more unique and so that colorblind folks can tell them apart too.
Oct 11 13:39:16 16m 36s The Island ♥ 1 Very cool, but having to right-click to deselect your current item before clicking a new item is super unintuitive. For a while, I couldn't figure out why the items were still locked even though I was clicking on them with enough money to unlock them. Also the "island size limit" is a key part of the game that isn't visible anywhere on screen, it really should be a progress bar somewhere.
Oct 11 13:53:06 13m 50s Fit the Sticky ♥ 2 Despite the lag, this is a lot of fun to play. Took me a few tries to beat it, then once I did I decided to spend a few more tries going as small as I could... This was about as far as I got. tinyba.png
Oct 11 14:07:00 13m 54s HEARTSCAPE ♥ 1 This is *great*. Really well done. I have no idea how you managed to make the game this polished in 48 hours (there's even a tutorial?!) .
Oct 11 14:19:58 12m 58s Oracle Pine ♥ 2 The gameplay was a bit finicky, and the dialogue was a weird mix of serious and silly, but man the visuals and the audio are SO GOOD.
Oct 11 14:33:07 13m 09s Barterin' Buckaroo ♥ 2 This is really good. I love how the trading system wasn't super strict, so there were lots of possibilites and (as far as I could tell) no way to get stuck, since you could almost always reverse a trade. On top of that there were little twists to the mechanics (like finding the dagger in the dead hand). The art and audio were fantastic too. Great work!
Oct 15 19:46:29 101h 13m Nobody's Journey ♥ 1 Fun game, a little confusing but seems like it has potential.
