Oct 8 01:57:31 Scrawl A Draw ♥ 1 Cool! It's a simple idea but it works well. The music is really excellent - I can't believe it's possible to compose a whole piece like this in a weekend. Nice job.
Oct 8 02:05:51 8m 20s Stickman Get Stuff ♥ 1 This is great! It looks simple but it's surprisingly challenging (or I'm real bad at timing things), and the sounds are hilarious - I almost burst out laughing when the sun came after me. The art style's well done too, reminds me of an early-00s Flash game. Nice work!
Oct 8 02:11:02 5m 11s Yin-Yang ♥ 1 Wow, for such an apparently straightforward concept it's -really- challenging. The minimalist aesthetic is really nice too. Well done!
Oct 8 02:28:05 17m 03s Nothing ♥ 1 Clever! I'll admit I did use spacebar to fast-forward a bit, but from there I felt compelled to play it for real, all the way up through getting disco mode, loot boxes, and eventually winning. Loved the dancing chip. Nice work.
Oct 8 02:33:25 5m 20s Tom is Lonely ♥ 2 This is really good! It's challenging and the steady addition of more elements makes you rethink what you were previously doing. I agree the homing projectiles are a little frustrating, but that makes it more satisfying when you figure out a way around them. Nice work!
Oct 8 02:38:18 4m 53s Grab your katana! ♥ 2 Congrats on your first compo entry! I like the pixel art; would love to see more in this style. I was a little confused by the controls since I couldn't tell your attack would face the direction of the mouse, but once I figured that out I got much better at it. Some more variety in the enemies would be interesting, and maybe some kind of ranged attack? Regardless, nice work.
Oct 8 03:00:01 21m 43s Poppy ♥ 1 Wow, the visuals are absolutely stunning - easily some of the best I've ever seen in a compo game. I love the weird trails around the eyeball things, and the world remaking itself around you is really fun to watch and (deliberately?) disorienting. Great work!
Oct 8 03:05:56 5m 55s Reconcile ♥ 1 This is so cool! It's almost meditative. Such a simple mechanic but it works really well. I do wish you could rotate faster - it feels like there's so little time between when you spot an incoming thing and when you need to catch it. Still, though, it's a really innovative and elegant concept. Great work.
Oct 8 03:12:43 6m 47s Ooze for the Ooze Gods ♥ 1 This is great! It's straightforward and super compelling. I love how your body maintains the structure of everything you've absorbed, and how the skeletons stay inside you - it feels a lot better than just being a steadily growing ball. Made it all the way to "Impossible" before they finally broke me down. Great work.
Oct 9 02:16:54 23h 04m All I Got For My Birthday Was This Terrible Curse ♥ 1 This is fantastic - I love the idea of having to actually play through a Groundhog's Day situation. I was all excited on my third or fourth attempt to have finally saved up enough for the fortune teller to cure me... and then he forgot I existed. Oops. Great work!
Oct 9 02:36:10 19m 16s Bless ♥ 1 Interesting take on the theme! I'm impressed with how elaborate of a level you built for this. The mechanic where your blessing radius gets steadily larger as you gain followers was a nice touch.
Oct 9 02:48:07 11m 57s Pot Luck ♥ 1 This is so clever! Gives me a lot of appreciation for people who actually organize this kind of party - I could barely make anyone happy. Great art and really well-thought-out gameplay. Nice work.
Oct 9 02:58:47 10m 40s There were 8 hours left and I decided I wanted to participate after all ♥ 2 As everyone's been saying, the amount of polish for how little time you put into this is really incredible - the animation feels better than a lot of larger-scale games I've played. Nice work!
Oct 9 04:49:46 1h 50m a new beginning ♥ 1 This is a really impressive compo entry! The art is great and the puzzles are deceptively challenging. The instant-fail can get a little frustrating, but I think I’d get the hang of it if I kept trying. Nice work.
Oct 9 05:02:11 12m 25s Console >_ ♥ 1 This is good! I got pretty far—13 or 15 I think?—but I kinda got stuck after that. Kept looking for something around “field” or “crops”, but no luck. Still, it’s a well-executed concept, and the art’s better than you’re giving yourself credit for. 😉 Nice work.
Oct 10 02:27:35 21h 25m Space Escape ♥ 1 This is fun! The visuals are well done and there's some surprisingly elaborate level design. The enemy homing missiles feel a bit too aggressive, though once you have your own it becomes a much fairer fight. Nice work.
Oct 10 02:45:17 17m 42s Zen Fish ♥ 2 This is pleasant! It's very relaxing to zone out and just enjoy the cute fish. Well done.
Oct 10 03:03:18 18m 01s JUST A GHOST LOOKING FOR ITS BODY ♥ 2 Clever! I made it to level 4 but had to give up at that point - the combination of the intermittent light and there being no safe place to stop after making it past one of the enemies was a bit too hard. Still, it's a great concept and well executed (and the ghost shadow is adorable). Nice work.
Oct 10 03:19:23 16m 05s Let There Be Light ♥ 0 Pleasant! I really like the way the plants sort of draw themselves into existence. Nice work.
Oct 12 14:58:17 59h 38m Small Town ♥ 1 As everyone else has been saying, the art is terrific - the watercolor style is really pleasant. Enjoyed the writing too, particularly some of the book titles. Nice work!
Oct 12 15:07:26 9m 09s Blank Spaces INC. ♥ 1 This is extremely odd and I like it. Spent a while wrestling with the controls until I think I got the hang of it, but I had a really hard time in the second room - got the name plate thing to the edge of the table then couldn't for the life of me knock it off. Easily the most unique control scheme I've seen in an LD game. Nice work.
Oct 12 15:20:56 13m 30s Carnival Mayhem ♥ 1 Wow, this is incredibly polished! The second level is pretty hard, especially at the outset - it'd be really helpful to have some kind of health pickup, I usually was under half health by the time I even got a weapon. I think the top-down view doesn't show off your art as well as it could - an angled perspective might have worked a bit better. Still, though, amazing work!
Oct 12 15:40:00 19m 04s ZomPunch ♥ 1 This is weird and charming. Really like the art, the explosions in particular. The gameplay tips made me grin. Nice work!
Oct 12 16:09:04 29m 04s Words With Foes: Quest for the Lexinomicon ♥ 3 This is incredible. I love word games and this is a great one - beyond that, though, this is just an outrageously well-polished game. The visuals and animation are top-notch. the writing is clever and snappy, and the gameplay is superb. Y'all should seriously consider releasing this to a broader audience - I think it would do well. Outstanding work.
Oct 12 17:32:51 1h 23m CreepyCandy ♥ 2 Wow, this is really ambitious for a weekend. Great art style, great colors. I liked being able to stick to the walls. For some reason the jump was really hard to use - half the time nothing happened, which made me die a lot. Overall, though, great work!
Oct 12 17:41:18 8m 27s LD45 | Scrap from Nothing ♥ 2 This is cool! I love the art - it's really vivid and comic-book-y. Nice work.
Oct 12 17:46:52 5m 34s TITANYTHING ♥ 0 Neat concept! The movement controls were a little finicky - sometimes it's impossible to jump out of the water, which is kinda frustrating when one of the shark things is attacking you. Would be fun to have the different objects have some different characteristics for your ship. Nice work.
Oct 26 15:59:37 334h 12m Unwritten ♥ 2 This is such a clever idea! I love the hybrid interaction between the book and the world - makes me think of the Myst universe. The art's well done and there're some really clever puzzles. Fantastic work.
Oct 26 16:02:54 3m 17s Alphabet ♥ 1 This is cool! Really unusual gameplay - I'm not used to having to use the whole keyboard while also navigating around with the arrow keys. I didn't get far, but I liked it.
Oct 26 16:41:59 39m 05s Blossoming Cosmos ♥ 1 This is really pleasant! It's sort of meditative, and it feels well-balanced - my flowers did get taken out occasionally but the entropy things moved slowly and predictably enough that it didn't feel punishing. Nice work!
