| Apr 29 11:34:00 | PRISMA | Interesting game - I liked the idea of "activating" two parts of the same sound clip and putting them together. The idea of having the initial options narrated was kinda neat.

But I found it kinda hard to get "into" it... the controls were a bit awkward, and it felt frustrating in the first levels to keep the two spheres active.

Thanks for the game! | |
| Apr 29 11:48:00 | 14m 00s | Minga-Me | That was a really interesting interpretation of the game. Fighting *against* minimalist. You had me at "... he is a hipster..." :-)

That said, your game could use some polish - I feel that the pacing of the dialogue could do with some work - there is a LOT of dialogue, and it feels tiring quite fast.

Also, there is a bug after the "sewer" scene - the game becomes real time, but the dialogue does not stop the game. So the enemies keep attacking you while you desperately press Enter to get rid of the dialogue boxes.

Thanks for the game! |
| Apr 29 11:58:00 | 10m 00s | Stijl | This is a pretty solid game, I enjoyed it a lot! The music very appropriate for the mood, and the mechanics are nice.

Some suggestions:
- The whole game is quite pretty, but I found that the fonts in the initial screen could be less "fuzzy".
- The color shooting projectiles' speed could be a bit slower - as it is now, it look a bit glitchy, while the ball's animation is much more fluid.
- MOAR LEVELS :-) |
| Apr 29 12:10:00 | 12m 00s | The Paper Concord | That is a pretty neat game - The gameplay is fun and quite challenging, and the visuals of the game have a very consistent "theme", which is always nice.

Some suggestions:
- I feel that the backgrounds are a bit too busy. You could achieve the same effect I think you were aiming for without all the random floating objects in the background.
- The hitpoints for the airplane should be a bit more proeminent. It took me a while to realize there was a life count in the corner.
- A proper transition from "death" to "new life" would make the game feel much more polished.

Thanks for the game! |
| Apr 29 12:15:00 | 5m 00s | Convulx | This looks really cool, but I couldn't get it to run on Windows7 with Java7... Clocking on the executable Jar results in nothing. I will try again later from my linux box.

Cheers! |
| Apr 29 12:31:00 | 16m 00s | Time of Wheels | That was a pretty hard game - the control scheme is a bit weird, maybe you should have used the mouse instead of left/right to turn?

Also the configuration settings menu was scary! You should hide that better :-D

Anyway, congratulations on your game! |
| Apr 29 12:46:00 | 15m 00s | Damn invaders | Wow, this is a very awesome game! It is very polished, and I could never tell it was made with GameMaker if it was not for the icon in the beginning.

I loved it, seriously. You have one mechanic (get smaller/bigger) and work it through its many relationships: faster, slower, easier to hit, easier to hit others.

The only suggestion I would make is to pick another song - I feel something with a faster beat would fit this game better.

Thanks for the game! |
| Apr 29 13:03:00 | 17m 00s | Y.A.H.G (G for Game) | Wow, that is really nice, I was surprised!

You managed to get a very GladOS-like thing going on, without being a complete copy. The different little puzzles were interesting as well.

I really like the game. It could definitely use some love in terms of graphics (like a better background or something), but I had a lot of fun.

I made it to level 6 before I had to move on. I will be back! |
| Apr 29 13:22:00 | 19m 00s | Lunar Rain | Hmmm, that was an interesting game - it makes you think.

I really like the graphics, and the general theme that you proposed in your adventure. I like how information come little by little, and you learn different things based on which path you take.

That said, there was a host of little things that made me enjoy the game a bit less.

First (and least) of all fullscreen: Games should behave and stay in their own window, unless I give them permission to use the whole screen.

Secondly, if you complete the game, and try to start a new one (to see another path), you will actually be returned to the last screen of the previous game - you need to close and reopen the game to try different choices.

Finally, the dialogue of the "family" tree is pretty good, but the dialogue of the "you are important to me" tree is kinda confusing.

Thanks for the game! I enjoyed it! |
| Apr 29 13:38:00 | 16m 00s | Snobits | Heh, these creatures are adorably ugly :-)

You had a very nice idea - the responsiveness of the controls could use a bit of work, but I think you are on the right path!

Also, there is a "bug" in the game: when you die, you get stuck and cannot restart. It would be nice if dying brought you back to the title screen, or a level selection screen.

I got stuck on the second level with the three Snobits, where blue just can't reach AND break the "cell" where green is locked.

Cheers! |
| Apr 29 13:49:00 | 11m 00s | Neonisation | Nice puzzle game :-) the sound effects were really nice, and the tutorials gave me all info that I needed.

A few small points that I think could improve the game:

* I REALLY liked the graphics for the neon squares, and the blue background - that said, I think the fond contrasts a bit too much with the rest of the game - maybe you could pick some other font that fits better with the rest of your design? Or maybe if you blur the current font a little bit. Not sure.

* When you click a Shape, the shape cursor appears somewhere else on the screen. Maybe the shape cursor should appear just under the mouse cursor? It feels more natural to me that way.

Thanks for the game! |
| Apr 29 14:00:00 | 11m 00s | simpLify | That was a wonderful game Sonnybone!

The songs, in all their different combinations are just beautiful :-) MORE please :-) |
| Apr 29 14:16:00 | 16m 00s | Casino | "Pay mafia <---- Important"

That was funny :-) But the game was a bit dull, like real life, I suppose? Maybe if the slot machine was faster?

By the way, what happened to the game in the screenshots of your journal? |
| Apr 29 14:24:00 | 8m 00s | INO | That was an interesting concept. As "nintendoeats" said, I think it would be a good idea to have a "fade-out" timer on the blue squares.

Also, as someone mentioned, you cannot use music from "free music sites", you have to either create your own music, or use some program that automatically generates sounds.

Cheers, and thanks for the game! |
| Apr 29 14:31:00 | 7m 00s | Prisma | Cool puzzle - I got frustrated and left at that level with a red/greed long corridor with a switch in the end - couldn't make it through in any way :-( |
| Apr 29 14:45:00 | 14m 00s | Ordinal | That is a very unique game - a programming challenge, I like it! The game also has a very consistent "feel", which is a plus.

One thing to note, is that it would be good to have an automatic "zoom" at the start of each level. On the start of the "tricky" level I did not realize that there were 4 sources, until I zoomed out a bit.

Also, it is not very clear whether you have to connect ALL sources to the sinks, or if just satisfying the sink counts as clearing the puzzle.

Anyway, thanks for the cool game! |
| Apr 29 14:47:00 | 2m 00s | Chameleon | Hmmm, can't download the game for some reason :-( |
| Apr 29 23:58:00 | 9h 11m | Stargazers | I was looking forward to your game! :-) It looks lovely, and play very very smoothly! I liked the little details such as the comments in the gallery and the moon timer.

One comment (just not to say that I didn't make any): I think there could be a small "twinkle" sound when you click on the stars during gameplay.

Thanks for the lovely game! |
| May 1 11:55:00 | 35h 57m | Brave Warrior | I really like how the challenge scales over time, and the music :-). I think you could probably make a random scrolling background, using the same sprites you used for trees, rocks and lakes. |
| May 1 13:24:00 | 1h 29m | City-States | Cool idea! This sounds like a fun quick card game, although a bit completely unbalanced ;-)

I won't have the chance to play with 3-4 people in a while, but it seems to me that the initial random setup has a very large influence in the game - how often do you get games that already start "won" or "lost"?

The game description in the manual is really good, but there is one thing sorely missing: The winning condition! Following the game description, it becomes obvious that the win/lose condition is to reduce an opponent's weakness to 0, but I really think that the winning condition of a game should be one of the first things spelled out in the game's manual!

I'll be sure to try this next time I'm on a party and report on the results :-) Cheers! |
| May 1 13:54:00 | 30m 00s | Between the lines | I loved the graphical style, really consistent. It also has a nice challenge curve.

I think it would be nice if there was a list of levels somewhere, so that we could see how far we had gotten - right now you can either skip a level, or press escape to completely quit the game.

Thanks for the cool game!

PS: in a few levels, the skip button started jumping everywhere like crazy as I moved. I think it is nice that the button moves out of the way, but you might want to look into that! :-)

Cheers, |
| May 1 14:12:00 | 18m 00s | LOOP | This game is very, very good. As others mentioned before, I love the mood, the music, and all the little details - like the family on the first scene (so easy to miss!)

If I would change one thing, it would be to somehow remove the invisible wall to the left - instead of a wall, maybe make a mini scene of the master calling, and the crow moving back?

Thanks for the experience! |
| May 1 14:21:00 | 9m 00s | # | The game was interesting - I really liked the level where you used the blue box to push the red box! The other levels didn't leave as much of an impression.

The ended weirded me out! If that was your goal, you achieved it :-)

Cheers, |
| May 1 14:29:00 | 8m 00s | Euphoria | The idea is nice, but you need to work on your transitions. I missed most of the initial text, because the screens were changing suddenly while I was still getting used to the world - also the lack of transitions between the different scenes and "phase shifts" made the game look a bit glitchy.

A simple way to implement, for example, a fade-in/out is to draw a rectangle over the whole screen and slowly change its alpha value :-)

Cheers, and hope to see you next LD! |
| May 1 14:40:00 | 11m 00s | Maximus Minimalist | The idea of climbing a stream of falling Tetris blocks was pretty good. If that was all that the game was about, I would give it much more marks.

Regardless of the theme, this is an example case where putting a lid on your source of ideas, and working with what you already got makes things much better.

The tiger (while hilarious) distracted a lot from the main idea (climb tetris), and makes the game looks poorer - the semi-realistic sprites also don't help much.

I think if you remade it as a very minimalistic (ha!) game about an abstract hero climbing down a tetris wall, it would have been superb.

Congratulations on the idea, anyway, and see you next LD! |
| May 1 14:46:00 | 6m 00s | Shoodir | Hmmm.... I really liked the control scheme. Control was smooth and precise, and it felt like fun shooting.

But balance was a bit off. It was slow for a looooooooong time, and then suddenly (after I got around 1200 points) *BAM* enemies everywhere. I think the difficulty curve could be a bit smoother - with an intermediate level of difficulty between 1 enemy on the screen and 4 enemies on the screen.

Cheers, and thanks for the game :-D |
| May 1 14:57:00 | 11m 00s | Minimal Race | Nice effort for your first time :-)

I found it a bit difficult to know exactly where I should put the car to collide with the fuel cans and dodge the logs. It seems that it was the wheels, but it would be better to make the collision boxes more obvious!

Hope to see you next LD :-) |
| May 1 15:05:00 | 8m 00s | ALPHBT | The sounds were very cute, the controls were nice and responsive, and the gameplay was interesting :-)

My only complaint is that the game was too short. When I was starting to get the hang of it, it ended!

Thanks for the game |
| May 1 15:16:00 | 11m 00s | DeaN | I really liked the graphics style, and the "la la la, I'm a cute little boy WITH THE TOUCH OF DEATH" was a cute twist.

Story mode is not working. After "he avoided as much as possible", nothing else happens. Game mode was a bit hard.

I liked the idea, hope you iron out the rest of the game :-) |
| May 1 15:30:00 | 14m 00s | Alien Raid | That is a very creative idea, and the game has a lot of interesting complexities.

While playing, I find that a way to multitask was seriously missing - I could not move back to defend my back and forward to attack at the same time - it would be nice if there was some sort of screen scrolling option (or some way to order your units to a-move).

Also, the enemy base has waaaay to much HP, and rockets (both yours and the enemy's) are too hard to hit - I could fly my rocket above the enemy base all day long without getting hit - but also without destroying him!

Well, it needs some balance, but it is a cool game

(nothing to do with the theme, though :-P) |
| May 1 15:41:00 | 11m 00s | Earth Defender | It was a cool little game. I like the idea of having a counted number of shots.

That said, the collision boxes were waaay to big - It was hard to gauge where was the "danger zone", where enemy ships could hit you. I think in shooters, the collision boxes should be usually a bit smaller than the sprite itself, to avoid "collisions with nothing".

Thanks for the game! |
| May 1 15:57:00 | 16m 00s | Steve Can't Zen | Heh, the game is pretty funny, and the audio and visuals come well together. There was a bit too much button mashing for my tastes, but I know this is what you were going for.

Thanks for the game! |
| May 5 12:54:00 | 92h 57m | Tyki | Got 2138 points on level 10 or so.

That was a fun game - controls were responsible, and the idea of awarding a score modifier for debuffs is quite clever. Also I loved the font.

Here are some thoughts on how to make the game better:

* Since the game is a vertical scroller, you should make the screen be in a "portrait" shape, or make the scroll horizontal - any of these ideas would give you more play area real state.

* It would be really nice to have a high score table with pre-set high scores. I got 2000 points, and I have no idea if this is high or low.

* Add some explosion sprites for the player and the enemy!

* The player's sprite contrast a bit too much against the background - maybe soften the colors a little bit?

Thanks for the game! |
| May 5 12:59:00 | 5m 00s | To And Fro | That is a very unique idea, and has a lot with the theme! But the execution leaves a bit to be desired.

The enemies move a bit too fast even in the earlier levels, and the shooting cooldown is way too high, so I die very quickly. The option of holding down a key to shoot would be very welcome.

Also, it was a bit hard to see the enemies, the shot and the player - maybe make a higher contrast between the rectangles and the units in the game?

Anyway, thanks for the cool idea. |
| May 5 13:14:00 | 15m 00s | Particles | Someone has discovered the particle engine of their library! :-D

Joking aside, this is a very solid entry. I had a lot of fun playing with it, and it was nice watching the particles exploding everywhere.

One little bug: after the game ended, the music kept playing.....

Thanks for the game! |
| May 5 13:32:00 | 18m 00s | We Dreamers | That is a very interesting entry, and I loved the technical details.

I think it would be kind of cool if there was some sort of "decay", so that after a few days, some of the painted cells would go white and then fill again - as to keep the instalation fresh.

Also, having some sort of minimap or full view mode would be really great. (The browser's native zoom doesn't go very far...)

Thanks for the game! |
| May 5 13:44:00 | 12m 00s | 1BtnBounce | That is a pretty cool game. I like how touching the platform and shooting at the enemy are tied together. There is still a bit of balance to be done, but I like it.

What did you use to make the music?? |
| May 5 13:48:00 | 4m 00s | Keypad Trainer Turbo | That's pretty unique. I've seen plenty of typing trainers, but this is the first time I see a keypad trainer.

Cheers! |
| May 5 13:55:00 | 7m 00s | OCD | Hmm, it was okay - sometimes some of the pieces would get stuck between the external wall and the platform - I'm not sure if that was intended or not. If it was intended, you might want to consider including explicit external walls.]

Nice game! |
| May 5 13:56:00 | 1m 00s | Angry Reviewer | I couldn't download the game. |
| May 5 14:04:00 | 8m 00s | Mini(malistic) Tank Battles | It was a cool little game - I particularly liked how the blue jets were the only colorful thing in the whole game. It felt a bit weird controlling a jetpack-wielding tank with infinite fuel, but I'll give that a pass in the name of cool :-)

I found it a bit hard to judge the physics of the bullets correctly - maybe make the bullets stand out a bit more?

Nice particle effects! Thanks for the game. |
| May 5 14:19:00 | 15m 00s | Shape of shades | That is pretty neat. I liked thinking about where the hidden areas where, and "my face when" I figured out I could use the small blocks to kill the big ones :-)

There are a few graphical glitches that you might want to look into - I found a few "outside" areas that were rendered as "inside" if you looked at them the right way.

Cheers, and thanks for the game! I went all the way to the end. |
| May 5 14:31:00 | 12m 00s | Balls Balls Balls | The idea is pretty neat, and the physics are cool too. I got up to level 22 before I decided to put the game down.

The only thing that bothered me is that the music gets repetitive real quick, but other than that it was an interesting game! |
| May 5 14:44:00 | 13m 00s | BASHLAND - Breakout Mario Mashup | I really liked this game, the gameplay touched the right buttons with me. I wish it had MORE PARTICLES when you break a bunch of blocks at once, but then I would just like it more.

I didn't like the background much... maybe something with a similar feel to the foreground would be better. As it stands, I think the background stands out a bit too much.

Also, it seems to be possible to lock yourself out from winning the game, if you destroy certain ledges and die. I got on a situation where I would die automatically whenever I respawned, because I had nothing to bounce on.

A game over screen, or a button/option to reset the level would have been welcome here. |
| May 5 15:28:00 | 44m 00s | ppet -- a random tamagotchi permadeath sim | Interesting game. I like simulators and tamagochis, and the graphic direction of this game pleases me a lot.

But to be honest it was a bit hard to understand what was going on... it seems that I have to protect the tamagochi from the falling spikes, and destroy the little poop? Balls appears at random intervals, and I can't interact with them or direct the pet to them, but they seem to like it... Level caps out at 8.

This game has a lot of potential, but could use with some cleaning up, I was absolutely lost.

Cheers, and thanks for the game! |
| May 5 15:31:00 | 3m 00s | Skip on Slabs | Hmm, Interesting entry. I found a bug, where I died in the third level, and when I tried again, the maze image had shifted down a number of steps, but my character re-appeared at the top of the screen.

Thanks for the game! |
| May 5 15:40:00 | 9m 00s | Placeholder Title | Graphics are decent, but the gameplay is pretty solid! I liked the "smoke" effect when falling from big heights.

Managed to get to the end without big problems. The "boss" was pretty cool. |
| May 5 15:50:00 | 10m 00s | VIB | That is a pretty creative puzzler! The "magnet" control was a bit wonky - it was hard to tell how much the king would be affected or not by the magnet. |
| May 5 15:54:00 | 4m 00s | Potato Gnomes Online | Can't play without other players online :-( |
| May 5 16:03:00 | 9m 00s | Little Planet of Doom | That was a pretty neat entry, congratulations on making your game!

I think that the game would me more fun if the enemies' bullets were a bit slower. As it stands now, it is basically impossible to try and dodge the bullets, and combats become basically a slugfest.

Also, you should try to add some transitions next time: like a fade in/fade out when you enter or leave the menu or game over screens.

Also, doesn't really fit the game. You just took a generic mouse shooter and changed the enemies' names ;-) Challenge yourself!

Good luck on your next game! |
| May 5 16:19:00 | 16m 00s | Minimalist Dungeon | Wow, it was pretty difficult, but a nice challenge. I managed to beat the boss after a couple of tries.

I felt that some levels were basically "rush to the exit"

Also! Avoid putting commands on the shift key - for people using windows, pressing the shift key multiple times brings up the "accessibility options menu"

Thanks for the game! |
| May 5 16:27:00 | 8m 00s | Less is More | Thanks for the game, I like the directions from the monolith, but the controls made me feel lost quickly - it would be good if the movements of the player had a bit more of drag to them. |
| May 5 16:35:00 | 8m 00s | Space Jellyfish | Wow, this is a pretty good game!

It is minimalistic, but quite fun! I like how many little tricks, such as leading the enemies into the mines, there are!

The audio is pretty swell as well!

Thanks for the cool game! |
| May 6 13:35:00 | 21h 00m | Aranami | Very calming entry! It fits the theme in many different levels!

All I wanted was a "undo" button, that allowed me to cancel my last move.

Also a "sandbox" (heh) mode, where I can place stones at will and play with the rack would be welcome :-D

Thanks for the game! |
| May 6 15:46:00 | 2h 11m | North Korea World Savior | Ok, installed the game on a N7. My thoughts:

- Your game asks for too many permissions - you should remove all of them. If it wasn't an LD entry I wanted to rate, I would have never installed, just because of this.

- I heard no sound at all. If the game has no sound, you should probably say so in the description.

- unskippable cutscenes are ungood :-) Please allow us to skip those song texts!

Hope to see the finished game. Cheers! |
| May 8 16:01:00 | 48h 15m | Potato or Big Minta Bronson: A Vegetable Love Story | Sounds like you had a fun weekend :-) |
