Aug 26 15:08:00 TRANS I like the subject matter. It can be difficult to trigger certain words--I cannot trigger the final word "transhuman"
Aug 27 01:25:00 10h 17m Evolution of a monster I like the aesthetic--not sure how to get past the initial area. I found the key but getting it to interact with the lock seems beyond me.
Aug 27 01:44:00 19m 00s Neural Nodes Love the art and I love boardgames, it would be super cool to see a game with all the features that didn't make it in
Aug 27 02:03:00 19m 00s Soul Jar I like this a lot! The increasing sense of danger approaching the crash site, the cute little robot, helping it out of pits, the production values are all great. <br/> <br/>When I get near the end I'm not sure I understand what's damaging me though, I seem to die just for being near the site?
Aug 27 02:23:00 20m 00s "Natural" Selection I like the idea of enemies adapting--two design tweaks would help this though: <br/> <br/>1) faster movement is better for a game like this both (controls should feel good + hard to strategize when you can't move meaningful distances) <br/>2) the pew-pew sound effects are a bit grating, something easier for long-term listening would be better
Aug 27 02:59:00 36m 00s Robo Rancher I like the interface. Maybe I was expecting more out of the testing chamber (greater fluidity of speed, carnage, something like that?), but this has a cool tactile feel in the dragging of things around to little boxes.
Aug 27 10:08:00 7h 09m Growing Tree Interesting! Going through a tangled, organic cluster of things is cool. My criticism is that the camera angle made it difficult to make meaningful movement decisions and the sound was rather repetitive. Congratulations on your first game though!
Aug 27 12:07:00 1h 59m Adlus: Mouse Of Truth yay i like this!! having played your previous games i'm happy that the walking and text speed is faster, so much easier to enjoy your art/story that way
Aug 27 12:18:00 11m 00s The Three Rituals The floaty movement makes meaningful combat a bit difficult, but summoning things through typing is a really fun idea!
Aug 27 12:32:00 14m 00s Boxy the Boxcat in Evolution Escapades cute cats, cute music! i like wandering around this cute post-apocalypse looking out for my kitty offspring
Aug 27 21:44:00 9h 12m Living Tales "Plants were eating plants in this cruel world" haha, what pathos! <br/> <br/>i like this idea a LOT. the presentation is a bit crowded, it would be cool to see a version of this spread out more, say over a landscape or wider area.
Aug 27 22:13:00 29m 00s Terra Tam: The World Warrior you're so cool, L <br/> <br/>i love this. ALL HAIL TERRA TAM, THE WORLD WARRIOR
Aug 27 23:33:00 1h 20m Darwin Games 2012 my cat is into nickelback and i need 1000 coins to melt them into a sword. narrative of the year imo
Aug 27 23:49:00 16m 00s Praepoch I love the way the visuals breathe, houses and rocks and trees bobbing up and down, a splendid touch. The axe snick is gratifying. Did you make the sea crossing wind sounds with your mouth? Haha, cute! I also like how killing the initial enemies is trivial but eventually you just want to avoid the stronger ones--accepting that not everything can or should be killed makes it feel more like an ecosystem/world than a videogame level. <br/> <br/>One of my favorite entries.
Aug 28 00:29:00 40m 00s 42 Stories this looks very intriguing but loading takes an extremely long time and many assets don't seem to be displaying properly in the web version? i'll try the windows download
Aug 28 02:23:00 1h 54m SeedStory Pretty fun once I figured out how it worked. A plantigrade ate me! This would be better if dying once didn't restart the whole game.
Aug 28 02:25:00 2m 00s The Joining Encountering other players or robots is difficult, I spent a lot of time wandering around. The audio is a bit disorienting since usually in an online game one interprets sounds of fighting as signalling nearby players--I think it's just ambient war sound though? I like the idea of fighting together with other players though, coop is one of my favorite modes.
Aug 28 02:51:00 26m 00s Lolicopocalypse The tentacle rape struck me as tasteless, I think scary tendrils could be accomplished without touching that subject. Also the view is slower than the walking speed, I have to keep waiting for it to catch up. I like the visuals and mood though.
Aug 28 03:01:00 10m 00s Lepton's Quest What an innovative way to make your set-pieces, fantastic job. This is the best looking game I've played so far. I like playing as a trod-upon kobold, what a resourceful little fellow... <br/> <br/>Sidenote: pressing space reveals exits, useful for figuring out where to walk.
Aug 28 06:19:00 3h 18m Paprika Blue Love the visuals--is there only the initial area? I keep falling into the void if I stray far. <br/> <br/>I discovered that spamming W against a surface does wall-jumping and that the moving stones can launch you up higher if you jump at their apex.
Aug 28 19:12:00 12h 53m Evo... launch-ion? this is exactly how evolution went down
Aug 29 03:46:00 8h 34m Arcane Dungeons ( aka Evil Lord vs Angel for the salvation or perdition of a hero's soul) this is fucking BEAUTIFUL <br/> <br/>i want to see more games involving your art so bad
Aug 29 04:27:00 41m 00s Seed 1,801,360 i like this! atmospheric and intriguing
Aug 29 04:44:00 17m 00s Beyond Darkness i found jogging nonchalantly past hordes of slugs and chocolate-covered men to be quite funny...however, the chocolate-covered giant with spear hands stabbed me to death...what a world
Aug 29 09:24:00 4h 40m The Darwinci Code - Adaption FTW! The visual design is both aesthetic and thoughtful--I like the way you conveyed information. Great background music too, love the growls, drums, and squeaky sound.
Aug 29 09:36:00 12m 00s The Best Dinosaur this comes together nicely in terms of gameplay/art/sound, whooohooo!! the fast movement speed makes the difficulty much more bearable. i like the different kinds of meteors--gamifying extinction.
Aug 29 09:57:00 21m 00s RE-evolution: The Legend of Hopper MACHINE GUN SPEARS
Aug 29 10:02:00 5m 00s Evolution Stew I LOVE THIS. the graphics make it feel like a game for mac classic or something. what a great sandbox (goobox?).
Aug 29 10:14:00 12m 00s Path to a New Species may i recommend checking out Twine (if you want to make hyperlink fiction) or Inform 7 (parser-based fiction)? both can run through a browser and not only would you reach a larger audience, but you'd save yourself a lot of trouble. writing text adventure stuff in twine or inform is really satisfying and you can focus on the game itself rather than laboriously recreating something that already exists.
Aug 29 10:39:00 25m 00s Selectra best alien amazon goddess game i've played so far...this is really cool and it's clear you put a lot of work into it, so much great stuff going on
Aug 29 10:41:00 2m 00s 1000 Evolving Kittens WORM KITTENS ARE DESTRUCTIVE AND EAT EVERYTHING
Aug 29 19:36:00 8h 55m Goin' Bananas - A Sci-Fi Melodrama pretty interesting, i liked this. i wondered sometimes if it was meant to be offensive towards trans people but you seem to have considered that angle already and not be looking at it from that perspective? anyways, yay, fellow Twine contestant!
Aug 29 19:51:00 15m 00s Species Hunt ah what a cute game! i greatly desire more freeroaming photography games and for some reason no one really makes them. looking forward to any more work you do on this! i also like the Tribes-style skiing when you press Space
Aug 29 19:59:00 8m 00s Aqualution it's clear that you put a lot of effort into the graphics, i'd love to see everything up a bit closer? it feels a bit far away from the main character so i can't catch all the detail. anyways, very pretty
Aug 29 20:22:00 23m 00s Revolution wow great job, the glowing forms and animations and the music are all fantastic. combat feels a bit samey but this idea has a lot of potential. i wonder if being able to jump across the circle or do other kinds of movements would add anything to it, make it more gymnastic instead of being bound to the ground.
Aug 29 20:34:00 12m 00s Hortus interesting start, i of course maxed all replication and all mutation. am i correct though that nothing happens afterwards, or have i simply picked the wrong planets? anyways, the music is great...so spacey and evocative
Aug 29 20:39:00 5m 00s Stickman Evolution scariest thing i've played all comp <br/> <br/>mutating stick figures falling from the sky is a great idea <br/> <br/>i like the relentless garishness
Aug 29 21:03:00 24m 00s Legacy Bird like everything you make, this is beautiful <br/> <br/>i love the words you use--"Do you love to climb?" a small touch but elegantly above the norm
Aug 29 21:21:00 18m 00s And Thus She Spake i like the scripture as game guide, i like the presentation, i love the extreme balancing act of the gameplay.
Aug 29 21:31:00 10m 00s Targeted Evolution "That is the dumbest thing I've heard all day" line was funny. The falling on the ground sound is really punchy and loud, hard to deal with.
Aug 29 21:52:00 21m 00s Beetlefield : The Forecast ahhhh i love gladiator style games, nice job on...everything!
Aug 30 00:00:00 2h 08m Oneway ah what a tricky little critter! your games are always interesting--i especially like the sound in this one
Aug 30 00:16:00 16m 00s Improv love the visuals, especially the flowers. movement is way too hard but i appreciate that you made this game about a plucky hairy little stick...
Aug 30 00:20:00 4m 00s The World Hates You i adore the ethos behind this. at this moment in time it's generating many blatantly impossible levels for me, but ahhh i want to see this principle applied to more games
Aug 30 05:55:00 5h 35m I Am A Tree. You Are Not. Ha Ha. i like the living butt the best of all the forms, so cute and rumpy. i appreciate that you didn't use rpgmaker combat and made this about the story. very cool game.
Aug 30 06:51:00 56m 00s Hunt'em! GORGEOUS <br/> <br/>sometimes you spawn in the middle of enemies and die without recourse, but besides that, i love the camera angles and sky and music and critters
Aug 30 07:08:00 17m 00s Place of Origin i love the melancholy search for a distant song, very sehnsucht...so very romantic. the volume shifts between worlds taking me ever closer to this sound...
Aug 30 17:38:00 10h 30m Ancient Ruins i like the core premise--faster movement would improve this (power-ups disappear before you can reach them and dodging bullets is very difficult). the plant itself is great, i like seeing what evolves next, a very fun enemy.
Aug 31 10:38:00 17h 00m God Called in Sick Today the music makes this super creepy in a good way
Aug 31 11:03:00 25m 00s kinetic dream Lovely graphics, nice mood. I like seeing incoming red dots on the minimap, makes me feel like a cool starfighter &gt;:3
Aug 31 13:02:00 1h 59m Parental Guidance THIS IS SO FUCKING CREEPY <br/> <br/>amazing job
Aug 31 13:22:00 20m 00s Porte par le Vent very cool--this would be better as pure exploration, without the rings, which feel like a frustrated, outmoded feature. you've clearly made a pretty environment to explore, it would be more interesting to navigate it without arbitrary hoops to leap through. going back to enter a hoop i missed is simply boring--my instinct is to press on.
Aug 31 13:37:00 15m 00s LD24 X0ut very cool, i love the way cubes tumble at you instead of flying in rigid formation like most shootaz
Sep 1 10:14:00 20h 37m Triple Threat wow, nice job, this is very, how should i say, reflexively cerebral? there's a lot going on but at the same time it isn't overwhelmingly overwhelming, that is to say, it is bearably overwhelming because there's a gradient of control and success. love it.
Sep 1 20:55:00 10h 41m Dragonkin EVO You gain nothing by having the player collect 35 objects very slowly, that's just drudgery. With faster movement speed it becomes about reflex and coordination. :&gt;
Sep 2 02:51:00 5h 56m Prance Prance Evolution one thing that would improve this is a menu that listed all your horses at once in order to easily compare stats and make decisions. anyways, i'm glad to see a tycoon game in Ludum Dare, one of my favorite genres. there's something very satisfying about having a bunch of different creatures with names and characteristics that i can muck around with
Sep 2 16:57:00 14h 06m Vol fantastic job! garish colors, blurring effect on being attacked, rudimentary sun, synth music, merging enemies, the burbling sound enemies make to alert you to their presence, control scheme--love it all.
Sep 3 23:49:00 30h 52m They Are Coming! First off, love the levels. The movement is too slow for something that is primarily explorative (I recognize that there are enemies but they don't seem to do anything and this game is super pretty so the net experience is explorative). The music is also too harsh sometimes in the wrong way (I listen to a lot of dissonant, noisy music so I'm not biased in that area). Pleasepleaseplease make a version with faster movement speed, I'd love to fly around your world :&gt;
Sep 3 23:56:00 7m 00s 500 years nice start, it's like playing around with ant colonies. i want more games like this!
Sep 4 11:30:00 11h 34m evoxy i agree, this is pretty. just watching meteorites fall from the sky is nice.
Sep 4 11:44:00 14m 00s Cosmogonie Spotline, this is really cool. I'm sorry that some people would rather waste their time defining what makes something a game (that most tedious and pedantic of activities), but I'm happy that you spend yours actually making stirring games like this that push things forward. To the other people--emotion and innovation are just as vital to games as any other artform, the days of defining a game by achievements and the number of guns it has are over.
Sep 5 08:53:00 21h 09m Cuboid Sandbox SANDKINGS <br/> <br/>very very pretty
Sep 5 21:59:00 13h 06m Dawn of Dimension ha, this is COOL <br/> <br/>running around naked to that music is what makes this work
Sep 7 23:28:00 49h 29m Ages of Irving 5 stars for innovation--a rare entry in the strategy torture puzzler. the only other one i can think of is Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer. looking forward to future projects!
