LD33 — You are the Monster

C.L.E.M. by Shackhal 2015-08-27T03:52:00

Loved the sprites and their animations! The sounds & music also fit quite well and I appreciate the straight-forward ending. :)

Escape From Twump Tower by 01010111 2015-08-27T00:32:00

Great work, as always.

Colossal Shakedown by wallmasterr 2015-08-25T04:48:00

We tossed around this same idea in the beginning but thought it would be too hard to pull off in a weekend. Looks like you guys did so in style though! I'm with everyone else, wish I could play but don't have the hardware.

Human Zoo by NuSan 2015-08-25T04:47:00

Nice game! I liked your take on the theme. The art was great, amazing giving the time constraints! I did have an issue with out of memory errors after playing for a bit, but I enjoyed the Grand Theft Auto-style mayhem.

Totem by Ian MacLarty 2015-08-27T05:40:00

Superb aesthetics! The music and sound meshed perfectly with the beautiful art. Weird stone giant was satisfyingly stompy. I wish I could have sat down non-violently, maybe the annoying ones would have accepted me as one of their own eventually. :)

Release the Monster by MiniBobbo 2015-08-27T04:25:00

The dialogue was quite funny, I enjoyed the parody of cartoonish villain plans.
I felt a little bad I fried the first dude without any proof, but at least the game provided me with an excuse afterwards. :D

Monster Date by Lady Beardo 2015-08-25T03:31:00

Loved the art, it fit the music and was often very expressive - the Bride's "OMG ugggh!" face made me laugh out loud. :D
The music is also very enjoyable!

Hello Dear Friend by ruthiepee 2015-08-26T12:36:00

Pretty sweet deal - some arbitrary goal would have been nice, just because I know you would've had a really funny scene where the hero one-ups his dad or something. I've been thinking about doing a clicker for some time, maybe you've finally convinced me to do so, Dear Friend! All I need is some start-up capital - please wire it to the following banc account number by expres cheque now!

Of Glorious Nation by Xinelu 2015-08-25T04:19:00

I liked the take on "monster" and the overall theme. Looks like there are a few weird things to work out with the gameplay, but it mostly worked for me after some retries. The tanks get stuck eventually so I wasn't able to see the whole level.

I liked that you made it so easy to re-try the levels, instead of having a game-over and having to beat each one in sequence. It made it much easier on me, since I had to rely on luck to catch the kids! :)

Doomed Settlers by Jimbly 2015-08-27T03:35:00

Fun game! I couldn't really tell what the workshop sounds meant at first, I thought maybe my lumberjacks had encountered something interesting and was panning to look. :)
The battles seemed too easy at first, but that was quickly solved. It would have been nice to have a hard fight before the final one though, for more of a feeling of accomplishment! :)

Don't get caught! by nmrsmn 2015-09-01T15:34:00

Very nice. The music really sets the tone well in this game. However, several times I ended up stuck on a platform after crossing over from a bridge. No apparent way to get down, and the bridge was no longer accessible either.

Bloodstream by Xentai Inside 2015-08-25T04:33:00

Hilarious! Loved the art especially, great style. Just need those jerks to shoot at you! :)

Moon Muenster by NuDawg 2015-08-27T05:14:00

Interesting concept! It took me a bit to get a hang of the controls though. It'd also be nice if there was a way to see which crate/weapon was selected.
It made me laugh that the astronauts will jump into the ammunition of your loaded weapons, making your weapons more effective when you don't shoot. :P
The backstory made me chuckle and the aesthetics were neat! I'm interested to see the final product. :)

Changer by Mouriso 2015-08-27T12:44:00

Really enjoyed the game! Only complaint was about the theme needing so much exposition to support, but this is probably one of the closest games in the jam to being releasable for real IMO.

Wolfsbane by WolvesbaneTeam 2015-08-27T02:58:00

@Team Klappermann
The enemies are slowed by injuries, so keeping your distance and firing quickly is super helpful. The bloodsucking thing is kinda a last resort (or ammo saver), it does stun them briefly and heal you a little (as well as steal their power) but getting that close is dangerous!

Wolfsbane by WolvesbaneTeam 2015-08-27T03:06:00

@PowerSpark Thanks for the feedback! It's hard for us to make the game the right amount of challenging since we've played the game a bunch and are not coming at it with fresh eyes. :)

Wolfsbane by WolvesbaneTeam 2015-08-27T04:28:00

@MiniBobbo Glad you liked it! :D There is no killing the ghosts, we had an idea that sucking the blood of a homunculus would let you interact with or be invisible to the ethereal ghosts but that was one of many features that was dropped due to time. :P
Yes to the cooldowns too, for sure we'll add that if we take the game any further! :)

Space Drug Lord by guru-guru 2015-08-27T01:05:00

Lots of fun with great visuals, especially the burning effect. I liked the strategy involved in sealing off compartments to slow the spread of fires.
