@fupi You hit the nail on the head. We had a, in hindsight, large scope that we couldn't complete. Relics were meant to give stats and bonuses to the player, another item/component was going to modify the skill effects, various weapons with different skill sets, and so on and so forth. Unfortunately we had to move our goal posts to ensure we'd have a playable game out. Definitely in prototype territory. Thank you for your feedback and wonderful art!
@abcdef65g Game is currently a little harder than it probably should be, initially it was super easy and there was no challenge, adjusted it last minute to provide *some* challenge, only to provide probably too much. Relics indeed were meant to give additional effects, like increasing maximum HP and regening. Thank you for playing and your feedback!
@ferellia I'm glad you like the sprites! This was my first time really working with pixel art so I'm happy to hear it - though @isaac handled animations. Unfortunately the game is pretty much the foundation or core of what we wanted, so the purpose of killing, gaining relics, is slightly missing and only tangentially there because of the stats. Thank you for playing and your feedback!
The overall vibe the game has is wonderful, the game over screen got a hearty chuckle out of me. It's a fun game with an enjoyable, if a little stressful at times, gameplay loop. Difficulty might be a smidge high, kinda feels like a losing battle. Still had fun though. My biggest gripe comes from interacting with the scanner, the printer, etc. Having to press W and space at the same time in order to interact with the object didn't feel great, I would've liked to have that interactable automatically highlighted if I'm standing in front of it so I can quickly hit space and interact with it.
Quirky game that really played into the theme. I enjoyed the characters, their dialogue was amusing and mysterious. I found it difficult to find characters though, perhaps a hot or cold type system to help point people in the right direction might help. Honestly my only gripe, this was an extremely charming game. Well done!
I'm a huge fan of these types of games and this is a solid gameplay core. I won't be a broken record, but what @powerofsin and @tubadude99 said are the two issues I had with the game as well, I did notice that upon death the music would double up in the main menu. Didn't stop it from being an enjoyable experience! Good job on your first entry! Oh and the pew pew sound effect when you shot was great, I loved that.
Love me a survivor-style game. The arena was on point with the game jam theme, I found dividing the overall space between levels to be a smart way to play even more into it. Music choice was spot on. The music was an absolute banger, I'll definitely be checking out their works. Only issue I noticed was the slime sprites would go *over* the sword and not under. Not an issue per se, but there was no feedback on whether the golem was being hit with my attack. Overall though this was an enjoyable game, I had fun with it. Good job!
Okay first off, who stores a bird cage like that? Underneath the stairs, on its side?! Poor bird. Secondly, this was a fun take on the theme. I got to the end of level 2 and had a pumpkin roll off last minute putting me just below the threshold. I had a good deal of fun with the game, it always felt good finding the "rare" items because you know you were cashing in for a fat amount of money. The quirky physics, the way they'd collide, and the lack of grip that I apparently have made it all the more fun. Thankfully never lost to the owner waking up, but got real close with the bird. Super enjoyable, good job!
This hits the dopamine receptors. I love getting OP and just rolling stuff. However, I wish the curve from low-level slime that needs to be a bit choosy with the upgrades to OP slime where the items I pick up doesn't matter, was a bit longer. It just happened too quick and I was one-shotting everything. Other than that I really liked the game!
I'm a sucker for these types of games, I can get so easily lost in the endless merging of ingredients trying to figure things out. I do agree with @adam-gallina, some hints would've been nice as I got stuck for a bit after I accomplished the basic elements. Though my enjoyment of these types of games helped prevent me from being dissuaded and I eventually figured it out! Well done!
Ah, nothing like pond scum in the morning. This was an extremely enjoyable game with music that had no right going as hard as it did. I did come across a bug, by opening the shop it would reset the fish sandwich (with a slice of cheese too) and allow the player to cheese money gain. Additionally it seems opening the shop resets the timer on time passing, I sat at 10PM for a long time. Outside of that hiccup this was a fantastic game and I really enjoyed playing it!
@raylond Thank you for the feedback! We'd love to see more polished version too, so who knows! Definitely agree with the transitions, something our rushed polishing missed lol
@beebster-games Sorry to hear that! Was it Windows Defender that blocked the file or the download itself was blocked via the browser?
I have to agree with Vulpe, the game felt good and I loved the Witch's sprite!
Yipee! I enjoyed the game and the victory dance at the end was the cherry on top. Well done!
