Interesting idea!
It took me a lot of time to understand that when pushing/pulling one of the guys stays mostly in place, instead of both guys moving by the same amount. Mostly because it was hard to judge movement relative to the star background. Maybe if you put some static object at the start point (like a ship wreck) it can be easier to orient yourself.
The base game mechanics are really nice! I also really enjoyed the sound effects in the game. The way to win the game was a bit unclear though, as I wasn't sure there was an ending until I saw the screenshot of it in the comments. Some kind of visible display of progress could maybe help here.
The graphics and the atmosphere are super cool! I also really liked the way the weapons feel. The player movement feels a bit strange because there is no inertia in the horizontal direction - if you stop accelerating sideways you immediately stop.
The writing in the game is wonderful! Funny and entertaining. The music is also nice, and builds atmosphere for the game by changing to fit the scene. I think it is worth adding an option to disable text animation. Well done guys!

This game takes a simple concept, and executes it really nicely! I liked that the bounds checking weren't too strict, because this prevents the player from loosing because of small errors. It's also nice that the scrolling speed changes in different sections depending on the course.
