LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Double Kick Heroes by blackmagic 2015-12-15T05:14:00

This game was awesome! The art and music kicked ass. The idea was very unique and well executed. I would've like to see a difference between using the left and right arrows. Also, the game didn't punish me for just spamming the buttons. I was able to beat lv 3 without playing the rhythm part of your game.

Dead Man's Volley by DragonXVI 2015-12-15T02:49:00

Great game! The art style and the sounds are great. It's a very hard game. Kinda frustrating to get timings just right, but fair enough to make me want to keep trying/playing.

The Terrible Wizard of Gl?«å½f¡ by Chaoseed 2015-12-15T03:20:00

This game was pretty boring from the get go. If there were 2 actions in the beginning it might be more interesting. Lack of feedback when I did an action made it feel like I wasn't really playing a game. Hiding the monster's side of the gui was frustrating. Maybe there is a better way to display your game's theme without hiding player information.

Linear Crossing VR by Clavus 2015-12-15T05:41:00

This was a really cool little game, even without VR. I liked the art style of the game. The music and sounds matched it very well. Very neat idea. My mouse sensitivity was very high in this game. It was very hard to judge how many forward movement pills I needed when I first started. Maybe there's a way to make it more obvious.

Unknown by Eshford 2015-12-15T02:36:00

Great game! I could've kept playing it for a long time. 2 minor criticisms. The 2 buttons felt too close together. It was a little bit of an awkward hand position until I got used to it. Also, the difficulty curve of the hard mode was too high. It started very simply and it felt like the hard part came out of nowhere.

PreGumbo! by FistBumpGames 2015-12-16T02:58:00

Pretty cool, I've never seen anything like this before. One thing I would've liked to see is for the food to telegraph when they are changing states a little bit. It seemed like they change was instantaneous. It was frustrating to die to food that was safe half a second ago.

Upgrade! by Mettra 2015-12-16T03:10:00

Great game! I wasn't expecting the wario-ware style of gameplay, but I loved it. It worked very well with the theme. Seeing your bot get loaded with all the upgrades and watching it wreck in the shooting phase was very satisfying. I was going to suggest some things to make the game harder, but now I feel like it might ruin the fun of the game.

Growing Orbs by icereci 2015-12-15T05:27:00

I quite liked this. The game was very challenging and made me want to beat it. The sounds matched the simplistic style and mood of the game.

Hand of Deity by Ludorverr 2015-12-15T08:53:00

Cool game. It's pretty awesome seeing your horde swarm out of the houses when you succeed. The swirly killing power felt a bit overpowered. You could get your guys to live forever as long as you babysat them with that power. Different types of units would have been a cool addition. Perhaps some that could defend themselves.

Workshop Panic by Bloodyaugust 2015-12-15T08:38:00

This game is really similar to mine. Great minds think alike. I encountered a bug where when you replay the game, everything stops dropping from the sky but the game counts them anyway. If you hit play from the main menu, it works just fine.

SAAAM by Ogniok 2015-12-15T03:06:00

Very interesting concept. It looks very nice, runs well, and sounded great. I didn't like that the doors took so long to open, it make it feel like a chore to watch it open. I didn't feel very invested in the choices presented to me and I didn't feel like playing the game again to see the other endings.

Legendary Legionnaire Massacre 2 by banana4life 2015-12-15T04:48:00

Pretty entertaining. I liked seeing my swarm of soldiers march across the screen. It started to lag once I started sending 50+ soldiers at the same time though. It would be cool to see towns that spawned giants to fight or upgraded your current troops.

Dancing Adventure by The Walking Kiwi 2015-12-16T03:21:00

I liked the gameplay mechanics. It felt very responsive. Music was very jarring though and could use some work.

Walden: Thoreau It All Away by bearcabin 2015-12-16T02:43:00

I'm not sure how I feel about this game. The art and sounds were nice, but I think one of the biggest problems was that there was no direction. No matter how many actions I did, I never felt like I was moving towards any type of ending. The day/night cycle was cool, but there were no differences in action based on the time.

Grab&LetGo by GGraca 2015-12-16T04:32:00

Infernal was aptly named. I ended giving up on the left side and focused on clearing lines on the right. It'd be cool if the color of the blocks meant something.

Guardian by TheMeorch 2015-12-16T05:08:00

I was pretty confused for a while, but it made sense once I got the controls down. Wish there was sound to go with it. I stopped playing because it took too long for enemies' turns to play out.

Battle Rose by goodbadokay 2015-12-16T05:15:00

Art and animations were pretty cool. Even the music was nice. It felt like I had some frame drops whenever I attacked though. I was kinda annoyed that the flies without weapons could hurt you.

Nomnivore by Jelinib 2015-12-15T09:09:00

Good use of the theme to see your creature evolve. The control scheme was a little wacky. I never really got used to it. Movement was a little too slow for me and made me lose interest a little too quickly. Good art, but the music was a little grating to me after a while.

Run For It by goost 2015-12-15T03:26:00

One frustrating thing was that the blocks that you had to jump over were the same color as the ground. I assumed you could land on them and be fine.

Ghoul by parias001 2015-12-15T04:59:00

I liked the mood your game had. The tileset and music came together to make something eerie. The attack animation was a little jarring since it shook the screen and moved your character back.

Super Smash Buttons by ronniepedra 2015-12-16T03:27:00

Your art and animation are amazing. Especially the explosion animation, very detailed. One thing I didn't like was being thrown into the second minigame without explanation. I was very confused and didn't know what to the first time. I feel like you should have focused on one game or the other.

Super Scoot and the House of Ill Repute by Krafty 2015-12-16T05:48:00

Great game! Controls were very tight. There were a few times where the hitboxes didn't make sense. I died coming down on the corner of a box and once when I jumped clean over a monster. It was very fun and I could see myself playing it again.

Belly Smash by Drunkain 2015-12-15T09:00:00

Difficult to control, but a very fun and outrageous game. Fits the growth theme perfectly. Not sure if it's a bug, but if you leave the ring after your opponent does then it still counts against you. Great work.

Shape Caster by sraboy 2015-12-16T05:32:00

Cute art. Nicely done for hand drawn art in MS paint. The game was a little boring, but it was a good start for a first game.

Shaving Day : The Shave After Tomorrow by gloim 2015-12-15T02:26:00

Not bad. I got kinda bored after a minute, let him grow his beard, and got a chuckle out of it. Art was simple but looked nice. Music fit the game nicely.
