I absolutely love the concept and the vibes! The tutorial delivery is super cool, I have honestly never seen anything like it before. The fact that you can just skip it and start playing immediately, but still get all the information you need while playing, is just genius.
As for the controls, pressing R, G, and B on the keyboard is not very convenient at first, but it feels like you can get used to it with a bit of practice or maybe I would just make a really terrible TV, he-he.
I am just curious about the tutorial voice acting — did you record it yourself or use an AI tool?
The concept with the rotary phone and room calls is so atmospheric, you really nailed the aesthetic. But the game greets you with a pretty harsh start. In theory, we all know how an old analog phone works, but it has been out of use for so long that it is hard to figure out within a PC game. To be honest, I would have never guessed how to even start the game and would have just skipped it, but luckily I read the comments section first and found out that you have to actually drag and spin the rotary dial with the mouse, rather than just clicking it.
As for the gameplay, I personally found it way too difficult and confusing at the beginning. When a massive wave of calls started hitting me right away, I just got completely lost trying to memorize all the room numbers and requests. For me, the game definitely needs a proper tutorial, some hints, or at least visual highlights on the screen to explain how everything works, because right now there are just too many unclear things thrown at you at once.
If you polish the usability and make it a bit more user-friendly, this idea will absolutely shine because the potential here is great.
The concept here is very cool - I really liked the idea of managing a VHS rental shop, and the core mechanic is quite interesting. The horror vibes are just not really my thing, but the main hitch for me was the controls. I really wanted more freedom in movement so I could run around like crazy to grab the video cassettes and keep up with all the orders. A minimal starting tutorial would also help a lot just to get used to the layout. Either way, it is a very unique project. Thanks for the game!
I really wanted to try your game because I love puzzles, but unfortunately, I couldn't get it to launch. It asked me to install the C++ libraries, but even after that it still won't open. To be fair, my PC is almost 12 years old - it usually runs games okay, but it just couldn't handle this specific build for some reason. Just keeping you updated, but I wish there was a web version of the game!
This game is really cool - it feels like a great pocket version of Restore or Workshop Simulator where you fix tamagotchis and gamepads. The cleaning process is actually quite satisfying, but the brush is so tiny that it feels like trying to paint a house with a toothpick, hehe!
I also noticed a couple of moments during my playthrough that could use some polishing. For example, I found that you can just throw broken gamepads straight into the delivery basket, and the game lets you progress anyway. Also, when I put a quest item into the left black basket, it softlocked the game and I had to restart. It might be a good idea to add a small warning or error message there, so players don't accidentally drop crucial items inside by mistake.
But overall, it is a super cute, compact, and clear project. Thanks for a fun time with your game!
The sheer scale of this game is absolutely insane! Everything fits together so well, and the whole game feels very cohesive - from the visual style and music to the core premise. Huge respect for the technical side, the art is gorgeous. The only hitch for me was the gameplay loop itself. While all these integrated systems are super impressive, the main mechanic felt a bit like just clicking on specific points, which made it feel a bit repetitive after a while. I think with a tiny bit more variety or dynamic elements, it would stay engaging for much longer. But other than that, it is an amazing and high-quality project.
Also, is the character who gives out the quests at the start a reference to the Silent from Slay the Spire, hehe?
The starting tutorial here was actually really funny - I loved the art there, hehe! Those UI windows with the guide text were super useful. But even though they explained what to do, intuitively I just kept trying to click on the horse and then on the house instead of dragging them like the game wanted. Because of this drag mechanic, the camera and zoom felt a bit confusing to me. It feels impossible to do both at the same time - to drag an animal and move or zoom the camera. I feel like it would be much better to show everything on one static screen without any zoom to make the experience smoother. But other than that, it’s a really cool project!
Wow, this game is an absolute aesthetic masterpiece! I completely fell in love with the atmosphere and the music. Even if the art was AI-assisted, the final result is just beautiful-huge respect from a fellow artist! The UI is very clean, minimalist, and perfectly fits the overall vibe. If I could suggest a few minor tweaks for a post-jam version: 1. It might be helpful to add small text labels directly on the cassettes/tapes so players instantly know what is on them. I noticed the preview text at the top, but it is not quite intuitive at first glance. 2. A tiny tutorial or onboarding element would be great for new players who might get lost. Maybe adding some subtle pulsing light or blinking animations to active elements (instead of just a hover effect) to guide the player on where to click next. Overall, a stunning and highly polished entry. Incredible job!
What a great game, it's super addictive, fun, and dynamic! Managed to pass more than 22 waves, and I'll come back to play some more. The countdown and the duck sound effects are top-tier haha. There's a ton of content, you guys must have worked really hard to make so much stuff.
I’d like to point out a few things. First, it's not entirely clear what different toads actually do, the descriptions are a bit lacking. Second, the font is so small in some places that it's really hard to tell what's going on. Also, noticed the ability to place items behind the UI—ended up placing a toad right behind the music volume sliders, not sure if that's supposed to happen.
Seriously, what a great game, it's absolutely amazing. I didn't have enough stamina to finish it in one sitting, but it already feels like a fully finished game. I'd honestly buy this on Steam right now. The quality is just insane, you guys must have a ton of experience. Totally blown away!
Any glitches or confusing moments are totally fine and easy to look past. Though there was one part where I got stuck and didn't know what to do after getting the second block with the extension cord. Speaking of that block, it might be better to change its plus/minus buttons to something like wind/unwind icons, just a thought.
Also, getting stuck got me a bit frustrated, so I ended up crushing the car with the elevator. Here's a screenshot of what happened, check out the wheels haha!
Loving the mechanics and the overall vibe! The controls are super easy to understand, and those cute drawings you get as a reward for beating a level are so sweet! Because of the non-standard aspect ratio, I almost got stuck on level 3 (the finish mirror was hidden outside the screen area), but accidentally interacted with the lamp and managed to pass it. It's such a pity there are so few levels, I beat the whole game! Thanks a lot, I really enjoyed it.
The retro vibe is just spot on. Everything is so simple, and that's exactly what makes it awesome and fully immersive! Typing into the terminal felt great. Also, I absolutely adore puzzles, so playing this was super cool — and it would be even cooler if I weren't completely stuck on level 4, please help haha! Thanks for making this!
Wow, this is peak "Old Tech" vibe, so simple yet incredibly fun! My biggest letdown was that after Day 1, the game just sends you back to the main menu and you have to start all over — I really wanted a Day 2 to spend all my millions! I sat there all day, nobody came, my meat spoiled, and ONLY THEN did a customer show up to buy it, RIP😂. One last thing — the hitboxes on the counter feel a bit off, you can only drop meat on the far left side while the rest of the desk feels inactive. Such a fun and playable entry though, totally approved!
Woah, the horror vibe caught me off guard, but the scale of this game is absolutely insane! 🤯 The OS simulation feels so real, and I can't believe how much stuff you crammed in here — from the Tamagotchi to walking and clicking. It's a mind-blowing amount of work for a jam! The only thing that threw me off a bit is that I felt like I was in a horror game, even though the sun was shining outside haha, guess I was just scared of the empty room! Such a phenomenal simulator, major respect!
Haha, grandpas fighting with arguments is peak "Old Tech" comedy, absolutely loved the idea! 😂 There are so many mechanics packed into this, but the UI felt a bit overwhelming and I honestly couldn't figure out how to discard unwanted arguments. Also, please add an Exit button next time, I'm stuck here forever now! Great entry overall!
