I like it!!! But you should put a little bit more effort into graphics
This game is huge ! I wonder how you managed to make a game with MULTIPLAYER in 3 days. However, when I started my journey and chose Mars as my first destination, it suddenly started jittering until it unwrapped itself lol . And I am not sure whether that's a bug or just not implemented yet, but the supply requests were shown in JSON and the population as undefined. Anyways, I then bought some stuff and started flying. It took me a while to notice, but the ship moves further away from the center of the screen the faster you go, so that's cool. But the yellow arrow always changed direction (because of lag I think), and I gave up exploring and chose Mars as my destination again. That's when I noticed how hard it was to land on it, and sadly my frustrations had to end with a message saying I ran out of fuel :sob:. This game has lots of content but it needs a bigger player base (it felt lonely) and patience on the player side.
The Idea is great but the game was boring because it had no music. It was a little frustrating because some levels were too hard and without obvious solution(trial and error is pretty much the only way to succeed) and the camera doesn't prefer the active body. (also Godot broke my brothers Computer and on Windows this game didn't run for me. I hate Godot but that's obviously not your fault).
Hey @tolmera , the reason we don't really like game engines is probably because of our very old and slow Computers (right now, we only have two old laptops). We have tried the GameMaker 8 trial and were fascinated that you can make your own games (this is what got us into programming). We then moved on to GameMaker: Studio and liked it a lot because it was like GameMaker 8 full version but for free. I don't want to go back now, because the language(GML) is weird, and learning it is not worth it as GameMaker Studio 2 now costs something, and GML can't be used for anything else than GameMaker. Next, we tried out Unity. I don't like the way they handle physics (or maybe I just didn't learn enough to understand it), and doing 2D is weird (however, I would choose Unity for a 3D game). Also, bigger games perform badly on our machines. We will probably never try Unreal because we don't want to use the visual scripting language, and the performance seems to be worse than Unity. And Godot - the new game engine everyone is talking about - simply broke my brothers Laptop and doesn't run on my Windows at all (additionally, I don't like python style languages, I prefer curly braces and semicolons). Lastly, in the last few years (after our first two jams), I have only made games for the Casio fx-CG 50 calculators, which has made me prefer low-level programming languages like C and C++.(sorry if that was too much)
Great game! The music was funny and the upgrades were nice. It is definitely worth it to prioritize the life of your flowers and switch the weapon with the watering can. (Why ESDF though? Is this a limitation of PICO-8?)
Nice game! I want you to finish it (maybe add more tables/tasks or background music)
Wow nice and funny game!
I really like your game! The music and sfx are awesome and fit the game perfectly. I really enjoyed playing your game.
