LD46 — Keep it alive

Margaret's Little Shop of Wonders by zyow 2020-04-30T10:37:30Z

That was really fun, great job! Fully got into keeping the plants alive and working towards the next plant. Took me a while to realise I could plant the plants I created, I was almost the entire way there with cactuses and creating them through the book (I'd say it was actually easier than growing the plants with more upkeep). I thought not having the fertilizers, etc. labeled would be an issue at the start, but it became more of a trial and error mechanic. Fully enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed playing this. It was good fun and a decent level of challenge. Probably the longest I've spent playing a jam game so far. It took a bit too log for the tree to start growing but once it did I stuck with it until the end. It was sometimes hard to see the cursor depending on what you're hovering over, and finally I didn't realise you could use towers until I read these comments. Though that may have added ti the challenge :)

Savior by Ekin 2020-04-21T20:53:28Z

I really liked the feel of the game, the models and the animation. Couldn't really get the hang of the flying, I couldn't figure out how to fly upwards and when I hit a rock he often got stuck.

Really like the concept and style for this. Took me a minute to figure out the controls, but all together great job. Nice touch using the audience as your health.

Title: Help!? by Jarithius 2020-04-21T16:08:41Z

Interesting idea, a hidden object game mixed with an auto runner.

Sustain Defence by waterlemon 2020-04-21T16:16:53Z

Love the pixel art style, especially the reload animation. The controls had me confused for a while, hept trying to use space to jump, but once I got used to them it was fun.

Keep "IT" Alive by RoboDoig 2020-04-21T20:40:06Z

I played to round 27 and enjoyed the increasing challenge. It took a few tries to figure out that you could replace the existing letters, not just place them in the spaces, and that you only needed to make a word and not fill all spaces. Neat idea, and love the audio and ambience.

Left Behind by gamedevpersian 2020-04-21T16:27:49Z

Really digging the visuals and artwork, especially the storm effects. Definitely getting The Martian vibes. Really solid and polished entry. The only thing that bugged me was I kept accidentally skipping dialogue, expecting it to fill in the text quicker. Think I've been spoiled by that mechanic in RPGs.

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone! Yep, you're all right on the money. The AI currently just chooses randomly, I ran out of time before going back to improve it.

I really enjoyed making this one, but it does lack a bit of a challenge so I plan to update it after the Jam.

Based on the feedback, I'm looking at: - A few different improved AIs - Another level with a 5x5 board (This is ready to go) - More card variety (at least in their numbers) - A melted animation for the lose condition / losing feedback - Highlighting the cards that are attached to the snowman - Local multiplayer (this is my stretch goal, but I've got it structured so a Hot Seat version shouldn't be difficult)

The Lightwielder - Ludum Dare 46 by 1StepCloser 2020-04-22T10:16:35Z

Absolutely love the pixel art and tone of the game. The deer sheparding was endearing and I enjoyed that of wandering to find them. Wasn't too sure what to do after that though. Also I managed to collect a lot of the deer before the tutorial ended, so the darkness didn't start until I had them all.

Loving the simple two toned look and feel. I played through the all three levels. The first two levels weren't very challenging but all three had me in a relaxing chill-out exploring mood, and I normally dislike underwater games / levels.

pestilentia by ATTX 2020-04-21T16:01:32Z

Love the style and artwork. Thought I had the game figured out when I just held the zombie against the side, but then more than 1 zombie appeared.
