LD51 — Every 10 seconds

6 Lives in 60 Seconds by AMac 2022-10-04T17:07:59Z

Great game but i feel like the controls could have been a bit more conventional, using space for jump instead of z. I also didn't understand how you could "Win" so the ability to have replayed each level would have been nice, but the art was done really nicely and the sound was well done as well! I really enjoyed the concept!

LD54 — Limited Space

Hardcore Packing Simulator by GoldyXEN 2023-10-03T12:42:10Z

Wow! The art and sound design on this project are absolutely amazing! I love how everything fits the 8-bit aesthetic and every part of the game feels connected. The fact each level has it's own fitting music is super impressive. Your programmer did an amazing job with the object interactions as well! I loved the fact that different objects could be pulled at different speeds and the rate at which the objects accelerated was so smooth. The only problem i had was that the objects and background sort of blended together which made it difficult to find the objects at first. I only was able to get to level 3 (Clear the path) because i got stuck on the loading screen for the level, if there is a button i need to click to start a level please let me know because I would love to keep playing!

You are supposed to get to the trash by pressing the A and D keys to rotate the view, then you can click on the trash with the mouse and drag it to the truck. Thank you for all the advice! In the future with out games we will try to make things more intuitive for the player.

Whip it up! by recursiveanomaly 2024-04-15T22:41:23Z

Awesome game! I love how much freedom there is and that the player is able to easily understand the gameplay and controls with only a quick and basic tutorial. I only wish there was some kind of "score" mechanic to reward more complicated orders and incentivize the player to try new recipes.

Fruit Punch by hunttis 2024-04-16T11:35:13Z

I loved this game! Was super simple to pick up but so hard to put back down and i just kept playing! The sound effects and art fit really well together. I didn't notice the timer on the can until it went off the first time but after I noticed it the time pressure made the game much more engaging. I also loved the high score element and if you use a high score in the future you could make the score a "PlayerPref" so it is saved between sessions.

Devil's QWERTY by SakuH 2024-04-15T12:50:28Z

This is one of the most amazing games I have played. Every part of the experience is so polished and balanced. From the start the music introduces the player into an immersive experience and really allows them to understand the environment. Speaking of the environment the art is so perfect, the font works well and the details on the desk (like the engravings and blood) really bring it all together. Beyond the environment the core game play loop is solid. The difficulty ramps at a great pace and really allows the player to familiarize themselves with the prompts and the decoding. Multiple times I was able to recognize prompts I had recently had which was really cool! There also is not "too much" going on at any given point. The symbols are manageable in the way that they are not overwhelming but not too little that they can be easily memorized. I think I spent about 40 mins on this game but I was only able to get up to level 7 (i'm not the fastest typer) please let me know how many levels there are so I can make a goal to beat it!

Star to Dust by Chii 2024-04-15T18:00:08Z

Like others I had some issues with making the start bigger as it would just increase the size of everything. Movement was very smooth and sound was high quality! It would've been nice to have a controls screen in the game (maybe a UI menu?) or some kind of intro so that I didn't need to keep going back to my browser.

Star to Dust by Chii 2024-04-15T18:36:03Z

I was full screen on my laptop which is 1920x1200. I recommend you set your canvas to "scale with screen size" if it isn't already

Butler Beckoned by Brandon McDonald 2024-04-15T16:11:16Z

Thank you for the feedback @zamizmi! I did notice the text was going slower in the build than it was in the editor, I imagine it is because text is being loaded in a coroutine. I do agree SPACE fully skipping the dialogue is inconvenient and I hope to revisit this dialogue system in the future so that is something I will consider.

Thank you @prcastro. Had never considered the mouse interactions since most of us used Laptops with touchpads, definitely something we will consider in the future.

Hellish Groundhog Day by SvetlanaLis 2024-04-16T12:15:56Z

Having some of the same issues as Jason. Initial load I can only see the hands and options locks me in a black screen. If I refresh and hit continue game I do get some options for Day 1 but most lead to empty scenes. Luxaria lead me to a scene with a door but I couldn't do anything because of canvas scaling issues. Please let me know if you do get a fixed build up because based on the art I would love to play this game. image(1).jpg

Amazon-Void by Bex2499 2024-04-15T18:46:08Z

Great job on the game! The art is well and gameplay was smooth. I also appreciated the controls menu! The main thing i struggled with was the "learning curve" the game starts pretty fast and at first it is hard to understand what is happening and why it is happening (like that hitting things causes death). Some sort of tutorial or an easier start may have been nice but I know that's alot to do in the time. Something that would've added alot to the game play would be audio, that would help the player predict what is happening and also react better.

i finished my first game but culdn't rly finish thanks for the support by Dfmoof 2024-04-15T18:56:57Z

I was able to get the web build to work by uploading the .zip to itch.io If you have an itch.io account @dfmoof you should also upload the game there. It's a nice simple shooter game and I hope you were able to learn some new things and get experienced with unity! Perhaps you can take some time now that the jam is done to expand on the game and learn some more. Maybe look into coroutines to make more enemies spawn overtime. Or you could look into UI elements and Canvases by adding healthbars to the enemy. Getting started is the hardest part and now that you have finished your first game you have conquered it! I hope you continue to make games :D

Wow. This game was so high quality and had such a high scale. I can not believe this was made for a jam! Every part of this game worked to create an amazing experience, from the high quality art to the music to the timing, it all just works so well. And that save feature was amazing to use once I figured it out, definitely made it easier to get back in to the game and try different characters. Speaking of the character and their stories were so well made. I genuinely felt excited and frustrated talking to the characters and when the music changed for Angel Inferno I fell out of my chair because I was laughing so hard. Excellent choice there. I also loved the way you did the final ending once swipping was done, instead of just getting off the computer you actually completed the story which made everything feel so much more complete.
