Great job on the game! The art is well and gameplay was smooth. I also appreciated the controls menu! The main thing i struggled with was the "learning curve" the game starts pretty fast and at first it is hard to understand what is happening and why it is happening (like that hitting things causes death). Some sort of tutorial or an easier start may have been nice but I know that's alot to do in the time. Something that would've added alot to the game play would be audio, that would help the player predict what is happening and also react better.
Really cool concept, love the art and sprite animations. Gameplay felt fun and interactive. Really great job!
This game worked well. I like the concept of making your own platforms as you go. Sound goes a long way when it comes to getting involved with a game, but this is a jam so I understand. I liked how there was effort in creating a different layout each playthrough. Good job!
Nice little endless runner here, took me a few tries to get the hang of it but once it clicked it felt very natural. The art is fantastic and the animations a very well done, I think sound would have improved it a lot, even just a background loop. Really good job!
really fun gameplay, i especially love the animations :)
Love the art style, the animations are well done and the game runs smoothly. Great job!!!
Enjoyed the concept of being an amazon delivery person , gameplay was fun Spawning your own platforms to choose which "Lane" to be in was cool!, art was okay loved the dying animation and the cats, ohhh the cats lol. overall enjoyed it!! so really good jobs guys!
This is a fun idea! Great job :)
Nice game ! Hard to learn at the start. But when you have it's great :) You could have the tutorial in game on a short distance without ennemis and the input display on the world map but it's clearly a details :)
Absolutely loved this game. The little wave is just everything. Really great job on this one, super fun and turbo swag.
Love the dance animation when you die!
Good looking pixel art. But we need little bit fore contrast between background and foreground(The interactive object). Just to make it easier to see. No sound is playing for me atleast. I like the gameplay but its hard i must say. Some bits of sounds here and there would've made it even better.
Good job finishing a game! And sorry for not being as positive as the other comments. A couple things: the distance score isn't actually distance, is it? I got stuck on an edge for a bit and the distance kept going up, even though I wasn't moving forward at all. Is there a reason to not actually use the distance or am I missing something? Also, while the placement of different tiles in front of you is pretty cool, "selecting" where it will be placed is quite annoying. Again, good job for finishing a game. The best way to get better is to make things, so keep it up!
Effective little game. It really lacks sound for having a well defined atmosphere but I appreciate the efforts on the graphics.
Nice game, very interesting mechanics, cool visuals. Great work, keep it up!
Excellent Amazon working conditions sim - the only difference is the employees get paid. Great game, especially considering it's only your first Jam! Runs buttery smooth, like the nail gun rounds entering my skull. The learning curve takes sacrificing a few employees, but once you get the hang of the jumping mechanics, it's incredibly fun! The longer runs get wacky, but the enemy variety keeps things fresh and constantly threatening. Highly recommended!! Best Run.PNG (Image of millions of bullets flying across the screen, and myself cowering in the corner)
@footlettuce Bro how!? We made the thing and couldn't even get past 250 xD
@pickydogfish Appreciate the feedback! There were soooo many bugs and fixes we wanted to implement but we were waaay to inexperienced (was our first jam) and ran outta time >.< really wish we could of got some audio in there!
@limerish I shall now be incorporating the phrase "turbo swag" into my daily vocabulary, ty sir!
LOVED THE GAME SM. The amazon guy waving goodbye is my favourite part. It seems that I will need to spend hours on the game to get decent LOL, i just suck. In all honesty its super fun and addictive :D
@dandee The sheer will and brute force determination of a minimum wage Amazon worker, that's how! My second-best run was at 370, but then everything after that was below 200.
loved this sm!! i think it showcases the team's skills brilliantly - it was addictive, though the learning curve was quite a hurdle, but i think that makes it more fun :D im honestly the most impressed with the art, yall did alla that in a few days!
Love the idea of three lanes going upwards
Cool game, I liked it!
It's a neat little game, though there are some problems with it, e.g. (a small learning curve, and some difficulty with object placement), the game is fun and unique. With some sound design, I could imagine myself being sucked into the game and trying to reach a higher score! Overall, it's a very quirky and loveable game.
That dead animation is hilariously dramatic and long. I was really bad at the game, but at least I got to enjoy that animation a lot. :joy:
You guys did very well especially for a first jam you guys are obviously very talented and I can imagine how happy you guys are with this
Great first jam! Endless runners are a real solid choice for game jams and your mechanic of building the path ahead of you gives it that unique spin. Some of the visuals clashed a bit, with a lot white outlines around things. The animation on the player gave me a laugh. Nice work!
The idea is good but the implementation could use some work. I agree with the others that a tutorial area or just starting the player off easy in a section with no enemies would have helped. I had to die like 20 times before I figured out how to get to a higher level and to learn the timing. Don't underestimate the value of a simple tutorial as it can be the difference between a player quitting in frustration and actually getting a chance to enjoy your game as intended.
But of course, creating a tutorial and polishing gameplay during ludum dare is nearly impossible. Good job putting this together with such little experience!
