LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Domino Dash by ditzel 2018-12-04T06:11:27Z

Love the sound effects and the overall idea! Overall I had fun.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Lousy Life Lessons - [LLL] by AwesomeAlliterationAlliance 2019-05-07T02:14:13Z

Loved everything about this game! The sketch art-style with the voiceover work was incredible to see! The silhouette of the cat was simple, and his idle animation of him smoking was hilarious. Music was a masterpiece, as well! Intense in all of the right places and tranquil where it needed to be... especially the ending.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Cascade by Joe Cowman 2020-10-08T00:38:59Z

Mechanic is cool. The scrolling while placing the pieces makes this weird time delay to figure out pieces. While it adds delay (and seemingly difficulty), it ends up being one of those things where the player says, "Man, I wish I could stop the scrolling". It then gets a compounded affect when you try to move a piece and the scrolling forces you to wait for seemingly no reason other than figuring it out faster.

Loop Frogs by GaryS 2020-10-08T00:27:40Z

It actually took me a second to understand what was going on with the green frog... but once I got it, I fell in love!

I'm a huge fan of strategy/puzzle games that involve time and control. This mechanic completely nails that!

Not sure I have much criticism or feedback. The art style is solid and cute. The button mechanics and accompanying sound design works.

Chipperton by PopDaddyGames 2020-10-06T21:37:11Z

@cole-davidson glad you had fun! The guitar player is playing the song you hear in the game :)

Chipperton by PopDaddyGames 2020-10-06T21:47:39Z

@anant-ahuja glad you liked the intro! We spent quite a deal of time creating the map and quests, but I completely understand the size issue (we talked about what felt appropriate for a great deal of the brainstorming).

Glad you liked the "underbelly" too! I won't say much more on that for the sake of new players ;)

@geroblacksmith those are some weird bugs... we'll look into them :)

Chipperton by PopDaddyGames 2020-10-06T21:51:11Z

@seth-tal Appreciate you playing! Come back to Chipperton soon :)

Chipperton by PopDaddyGames 2020-10-07T23:10:38Z

@ghuyajil Glad you played!

Most prompts in the game give you an [e] to [use] prompt. The guitar player specifically hides the [use] text for a bit of discovery.

There are many ways to complete the loop (with different endings)! Hope you enjoyed your stay in Chipperton and hope you come back to see more! :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Adelie - Rolling in the Deep by Meep 2021-05-06T20:08:46Z

I played this game for way too long! Incredible controls, fun atmosphere, challenging enemies. Love the rogue-lite feel and it made every play through feel very different. Only thing I wanted was a dedicated soundtrack and possibly going "deeper and deeper" in one location to fit the theme better. It does fit the theme, but moving to different locations is a criticism I can see being made about the theme design.

Derpy Deep Drive by Extrone 2021-05-06T17:48:39Z

Love the graphics and controls! The fact you can do sick 360 burnouts and tokyo drifts makes this game above most driving games. The mouse controls creates this nice fluid feeling and I would love to see this control system in another game; Whether arcady and fluid like this one, or a realistic driving game in the vain of other hits like Need For Speed. Definitely would love to see this one fleshed out.

Pretty Flower by ZeppelinGames 2021-05-06T19:35:59Z

Other than the collision bug, this platformer is perfect! Would love to have a dedicated soundtrack with the nice bit SFX as well. The game fits the theme, but only barely... would love to see multiple levels that go "deeper and deeper" and making use of some of the rigid body systems for puzzles/traversal. All in all, stellar plot (no flower = :( sad - flower = :) happy).

She Waits Below by AbigailCorfman 2021-05-07T17:23:31Z

Have to preface that text adventure games aren't my thing, but this one was really well done! I love that clicking on parts of the text are actually interaction actions, but for the parts where you can madlib/change the descriptions, I feel like the design doesn't explain that to the player. Maybe a different font choice, different color, or even simple arrow pngs to show the player that the interactions are changeable, as opposed to interactions (which was taught to the player early on).

I will say that systems are really well done. Aesthetic is definitely there. Couldn't hear any audio/music on my end - could be my side/not sure. Audio was opted out so doesn't really matter.

Definitely not my cup of tea, but would love to see the story expanded for other ideas (maybe visuals as well for telling the story/interactions/even the smallest choices). There is something special here that can translate across multiple genres of games!
