There's just so much to do here, awesome :)

akintsevil 2026-10-20 05:37 ♥ 1

It looks awesome, but not easy to master. Trouble starts with fullscreen not working

soldat-napasa 2026-10-20 09:04 ♥ 1

The game has a lot of vibe; at first, the sheer amount of information can be overwhelming, but once you figure it out and get into the story, it's really addictive. ! Not for casual gamers !

imod 2026-10-20 12:15 ♥ 1

This game is awesome! I play several hours already and didn't beat it completely! I dont understand how you did it in so limited time, its just like full game already! Now I fan of this game!

kitmani 2026-10-20 12:40 ♥ 0

@akintsevil Thank you so much for pointing that out! I was terribly tired yesterday and didn't check, lol. I had to think about it a bit, but I fixed it.

kitmani 2026-10-20 12:43 ♥ 0

@soldat-napasa Yes, although there aren't really that many systems, but they're all interconnected and it's very difficult to explain them sequentially. I spent a huge amount of time on the tutorial and completely rewrote it twice and even so I don't fully like it. Just terrible!

kitmani 2026-10-20 12:47 ♥ 0

@imod Thank you so much! I'm sure you know that the fact that people play your game is the most valuable thing.

kitmani 2026-10-20 12:51 ♥ 0

By the way ([@imod, @akintsevil], [@soldat-napasa]), your games look absolutely great! Very engaging screenshots and gifs, I've already saved them and I'll definitely try them out this evening.

It’s a very high‑quality game, but it’s extremely challenging. The font is hard to read. The storytelling is top‑notch.

jacky-san 2026-10-20 20:09 ♥ 1

In-cre-di-ble content for a game jam, congratz for the hard work ! 👏

docredstone 2026-10-20 21:06 ♥ 1

Very good game, it's almost a full fledged game ! It's awesome

marudziik 2026-10-21 07:03 ♥ 2

While the game is interesting to look at and has a distinctive vibe, I feel that AI usage allowed you to not care about scope at all. I think that limiting scope is also important, especially during LD and especially when you consider how individual mechanics work - without AI you would have to focus on something smaller but working well together. Just one of those systems that you have here would be probably enough.

IMHO, huge scope is not something we should aim for in a LD entry. The complexity here is such that a player needs to invest a lot of time to even learn it - not really something to expect from LD crowd during rating period. And it's a shame because it seems that this might be an AI-assisted entry where you actually seem to care about the outcome, it's not random.

I see some interesting ideas here. I also like the look & feel and the story is inviting, but the barrier to entry here is a little bit too high. Your entry is interesting and probably an example of a "correct AI usage", it's just the scope is well beyond what I can give it. Thanks.

---- If you're not the author and want to heart this comment, please don't - there's an unfixed "misfeature" on LD page. Explanation [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/far/psa-do-not-heart-comments-on-other-peoples-games) and [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/60/the-base-for-old-creations/playrate-is-still-broken). @marudziik, thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review!

I mostly agree with you. About the content: at some point I stopped thinking of it as a game for LD. I just built all the systems and mechanics I’d want to see as a player from my TA, which I saw as hardcore fans of sims like KSP who are happy to suffer a bit to feel like they really get how everything works. This might sound weird, but I actually got hooked on playing my own game (which almost never happens; usually I’m sick of the game by the middle of development, lol).

So yeah, I went a bit too far. One result of that is that I had to use AI to write most of the text for key parts, like the tutorials and the UI.

ganktronics 2026-10-21 19:20 ♥ 0

Oooh, it's very complex, a lot of stuff going on for a little jam game. I dig the vibes though. I could probably stay playing something like this for hours, which would be, extremely unfair to the rest of the jam if I did 😄. The looks and the music feel very space-y, for sure.

If I were to offer improvements, the tutorial didn't feel too helpful, because there was just so much going on. It didn't feel like there were baby steps being made as I went through it, but just a lot to try and memorize at once before I even made it to the game proper.

darkshadow 2026-10-21 19:46 ♥ 1

Holy information overload. I love the pixel art style and it looks like the kind of game I want to like being a big fan of KSP, however the information is just a constant stream, nothing makes sense. I don't have time to learn this and review other games as well.

If you use AI you really need to pull it back from just spewing content.

sneha 2026-10-22 05:38 ♥ 0

This is such an incredible game! It was a bit too complex for my personal taste, so I couldn't play for very long. Nonetheless, the art, theme, and mood were so spot on! It's incredible that you managed to create something this complete within such a short time limit. It's an entire game!✨

I was honestly stunned at first glance. The game looks great, but even though I tried to understand how the game works, I was already stuck on the starting page... I tried the training button, but had no idea what I was getting into. There’s too much text(Same problem with my own game, BTW.), and as a non-native English speaker, the small and pixel style font made it even worse. I can tell a lot of effort went into building the systems, and the graphics and UI look incredible, but I was flooded with too much text that was hard to read and comprehend. A more gradual introduction to the modules, interactions, would help, I think. I tried to do that in my game too, but apparently it wasn’t enough. I’d be curious to hear what you think?

jahuth 2026-10-22 19:22 ♥ 0

This is very deep and complex, which is a nice contrast with the 2D art!

For a game jam entry, it looks like a lot to read and learn, with a multi part tutorial and a warning before starting the game to do the 30 minute(!?) tutorial before starting the game. For the maneuvering, maybe the tutorial is necessary, but all the repair actions are actually pretty well explained by the hint system and the work order in the game itself. I think you can trust your idea more and scale down the tutorial. The stories around each satellite are cute, but I'm not sure they are needed and I couldn't really appreciate them with all the other things going on. The tasks we do on the satellite feel a bit misproportioned to the grandeur of the stories. The story graphics and animations are really nice and fit the vibe very well, so you should definitely keep them! But don't expect players to remember any of the text ;)

And THEN there is a whole programming game inside? Wow!

helgust 2026-10-22 22:12 ♥ 0

it's very hard game, as a KSP fan I really like a space vibe! Art is beautiful! 8 stages of tutorial it's too much. But overall it's it' very deep and complex game with nice vibe! Would like to see a full release!

tatawanda 2026-10-23 12:46 ♥ 1

I won’t repeat what others have said about the scope being too large for a jam.

You can see there is a lot of work on the mood and it really works. The old-school engineering aesthetic, with all those buttons and controls, it's very cool.

The downside is that the UI doesn’t make it clear enough what you’re supposed to do. A few more visual cues and a bit of guidance would help players find their way. Yes, there’s a tutorial, but players can easily forget what they need to do. And especially during a game jam, few people are going to sit through a 30-minute tutorial.

klengh 2026-10-23 13:04 ♥ 1

I think the complexity is something that adds to the game in this case. Though, as others have mentioned already it also makes it feel kind of out of place here. I'll have to come back later to play some more.

As for the tutorial, I think it might feel better to have one tutorial mission that explains everything from start to finish instead of splitting it by systems. Going back and forth between the selection screen and individual tutorial snippets breaks immersion.

The look fits the theme and the music helps build that somewhat lonely space atmosphere. Why did you opt out of the graphics and audio categories?

justinmullin 2026-10-23 15:56 ♥ 1

Wow. Wow. Wow.

What a masterpiece. From the moment I saw the KSP-style simplified orbital mechanics show up I knew I was in for a treat, but this game kept surprising me with how deep and solid it is.

The aesthetics, the depth, and the polish on all the little bits are just incredible. The story text was difficult for me to understand often, probably a translation thing, but even so I really enjoyed the storyline. It was very evocative of rebuilding and stirring up hope.

I see from the comments that you've used AI considerably here, and no surprise, as this was an astounding amount of content and functionality, but everything worked together quite well, and I was able to play through the entire campaign while rarely feeling that something wasn't thought through, functional, etc. There was very little chaos here. I had anticipated running into some areas that felt slapped on, or stereotypical "slop", but really it all worked and felt nice.

I'm especially amazed to see a nice little assembly programming mechanic, and it's even _used to good effect_ later in the game. The first time I programmed a solution, it actually turned out to be unnecessary, and there weren't too many tasks that really required full on programming, but in a longer game I could see using this feature quite a lot, and it's very very cool. Having lots of documentation available for all of the functionality really helped this to be accessible and not a pain to figure out.

I had a few complaints, little note that are really not very critical, but I will list them anyway in case you plan to work more on this game: - The auto adjustments from the helm usually seemed to spin the wrong way, making what should have been quite a small adjustment if you had manually gotten things close, to a huge adjustment to spin into place - Some larger orbits were difficult to see exactly how far off the apoapsis/periapsis without zooming in, and that map isn't especially pleasant to zoom/pan, so it got a little annoying for a few approaches - The assignment to switch a pair of batteries from parallel to series was a little touchy, as the circuit didn't quite work the way I anticipated - possibly my own ignorance of EE, but the rest of the game was generous with hints and this one tripped me up for a bit

All in all I had a wonderful time playing through the missions that are available here, and I kept thinking that if this was released on Steam as-is I would consider purchasing it. Please do report back if you expand this entry into a full game, as there is so much promise that I see. In particular I really think an expanded game to move towards a persistent world where I can decide what to do next would be very exciting - I can picture scanning wrecks to collect parts and upgrade my ship, completing tasks and purchasing components, etc., and that really sounds like a nice game. Of course I can see that this game is probably quite niche, reading through the comments and seeing that many felt it was too complex to get into.

Thanks for your submission - this is one of the more memorable Ludum Dare experiences for me. I realize AI is controversial, and I myself am hesitant to congratulate too heavily a work that may have been largely generated "by the machine", but I'm inclined to believe you put quite a bit of yourself into the project as well, as I believe "vibe coding" a game like this would land in a much less cohesive result, so I hope you're proud of what you've put together, and thank you for sharing it.

kitmani 2026-10-23 18:22 ♥ 0

@klengh, thank you for your feedback! Most of the sprites and overall visual style, as well as the music and sounds, were not made during the jam — I made them for another game earlier. So I decided not to participate in those categories, it seems unfair to me.

@justinmullin, thank you for the kind words. I'm very glad you appreciated the programming mechanics! I don't know if you noticed, but I added one detail: our ship's program is in a high-level programming language, which is well-justified, I think it's very amusing.

rekk1d 2026-10-24 12:36 ♥ 0

Really cool concept, and the visuals and music create an amazing atmosphere. It’s definitely not a game you just jump into, it takes some time to figure everything out. But once it clicks it’s really engaging. Great work, especially for a solo project!

rocktavious 2026-10-24 14:48 ♥ 0

This is by far one of the most complicated games i've ever played - let alone jam game.

Even though there was a tutorial it was still information overload. Definitely not the kind of game i usually play so i'm not the target audience but i can feel the high level of craft that went into it.

The mood, graphics, sound and aesthetics are spot on for the theme. Great work my only feedback would be to think about how you can make the game more approachable from the beginning - i dove into the tutorials first but even those were information overload and distracted from learning how to play the game. Alot of the "click on X thing" wasn't direct enough because you had to mouse over everything to even find what you were talking about which distracted from the learning. It was both too tedious and also not direct enough and with the information overload it was hard to learn. I think if you could have pulled of a much simplier happy path tutorial that slowly introduces the core mechanics of the game without all the extra information it would be much more successful, if not one of the best in the jam.

Interesting game! It's impressive how much content you managed to create in such a short time. Awesome work!

ottobroccoli 2026-10-25 12:34 ♥ 0

Wow, there’s so much to this game! I really enjoyed it! Great work!

lazyapegames 2026-10-26 20:01 ♥ 1

Crazy how much can one person achieve in such a short time. Did not expect anything even close to this. I did not go through the tutorial but the hints carried me well apart for some exceptions. Did not manage to finish the game because of the length. For a GameJam entry it too long for my liking. I love all the different interconnected systems and everything. Cant imagine how you managed to do it for just the Jam. The visuals and sounds are also very nice. One of the most complicated games I played this Jam but it was fun. Great Job!
