Really fun little escalating puzzle game once I figured out the controls. I think it could have benefitted from a tutorial or some input prompts
Took me while to get the controls but really like this puzzle game theme approach. Well done!
Nice game, allows for really complex dynamics. I like how you made it kinda punishing witch make it more puzzle game than a strategy. The 2x does not seem to work on money? Bugs like this kinda discourages experimenting :( Also i had some trouble to destroy the links at start for some reason, even though i was sure it should be possible, weird. Blind buying upgrades is pretty scary in punishing game like this, i have no idea what the icon does for the first time and if i bought wrong one i could instant lose because of it. The music was nice and it looks nicely cohesive even though really simple visuals. Some more interaction sounds would have made it more nice. You nice had the most important feedback there so it was pretty straightforward for me to understand, after couple tries how things behave.
A funny little game.
Cool, I really liked the concept. It's great that the game has taken shape—there are clear goals and ways to achieve them. I was a little disappointed that some mechanics don't work as expected (money doesn't scale with the signal). But I'll chalk that up to a lack of time. I'd love to play a more developed version of the game. Good luck!
Really cool entry, took a few attempts to get the hang of it, but managed to get 49 score. Music was great as well!
@prunus-padis thanks for the feedback! The signal strength not working for coins is intentional, otherwise the balancing for the game would be even harder. (I tried to explain it in the description of the money receiver but I'll try to make it more clear for the post-jam version) I was unsure if buying blind would be fun as you get surprised, but after this feedback it will probably also be something I change for the post-jam version.
Liked the game! The music and sound are good, the idea is simple but working nicely! The incremental part is good too.! Find some bugs to scatch and point I noted: The signal multiplier doesn't work on money. After breaking the egg, everything is unplayable: the links don't show anymore, you can't modify links, etc... Also the space is really fast full and can't block the progression.
But i liked the game, good jobs ! (My (not?) high-score : 2047) (Also on the screen, everything is connected, but the links are invisible) gameScreen.png
It feels as great to break the game with x4, multiple 2x and multiple recievers, just as great as in balatro tbh
The style of this game is spot on. The music is just right to put you in a thinking mood, and the visuals are sleek.
Once I got a handle on what cards did I had a fun time combining effects. My initial impression is the 2x cards are a bit too strong compared to the others though. If you don't see them in the shop it's a much harder run.
Needed a bit to figure out the controls but once I had that down the game was really fun and kinda addictive. The mix of visuals and sound/music sets a great mood immediately. Took me a second that the coin generator said that it turns signals into A coin rather than coins of the signal strength. The only thing that was a bit annoying after a while was the wire disconnecting. I had a setup with multiple splitters and 2 of the collect-4 nodes, whenever the collect-4 were "ripe" I would connect them to a 2x-train to feed into the splitters and then into the signal receivers, the other two rounds (where the collect-4 were charging) I would hook the splitters up to my coin generators and a regular emitter. At the end that meant disconnecting and reconnecting 10 or so nodes per round which slowed things down quite a lot, in the end I missed one connection and didn't make the 100k score and failed at that stage.
Overall very fun game!
Nice game, I like the puzzles and ideas it's presenting. Feels like if given the chance, it could really spiral in terms of depth and complexity.
Unsure if it was a bug or if I was misunderstanding, but the unstable multiplier seemed to not do anything at all when plugged in. I watched a x4 coins into a 2x multiplier drop nothing ;( and further testing with other cards appeared to have no effect either. One main complaint is that I'm not sure what a card does until I buy it. Some cards are fairly obvious like x2, the splitter, the coin and the receiver but a tool tip could have been useful for things like "egg" especially when resources are so scarce money wise.
interesting game though, had fun with it and could see it being expanded on a lot. Nice work :)
Overall, I like the game — it has an interesting core idea and a kind of idle-game charm that makes it engaging. There’s definitely something here that keeps you curious and wanting to continue.
One thing that felt a bit unclear is what you’re supposed to do at the very beginning. For example, the initial dollar felt a bit confusing — I think the flow might be clearer if the player first works toward a simple goal (like reaching a score of three), and then receives the dollar as a reward to use later.
Right now it feels like if you use the dollar too early, you’ll most likely lose, which can be a bit frustrating.
Still, I think the idea is really promising, and it feels like something that could be expanded in many interesting directions!
We got a similar idea ahahah The controls are a bit hard to get at first but then it's fun! nice job!
I can't help but agree with the idea... It's well done, but it would be great if we could change the direction of the beam more easily. When the score is converted to a float, it overflows its line game.png
There's a very interesting idea here, but it really needs some documentation or tutorial. I struggled with it for a while before it started making sense. A very good effort, and I hope you keep working on this -- I'd love to play a more fleshed out version.
Nice game. The only comment I had that I don't see already made is that the "emit signal" button seemed redundant to me.
Interesting concept. Nice puzzle game, but the colors make it a bit hard to read whats on the card.
Very cool idea. I liked digging into the mechanics. Pensive music gave a good atmosphere, scan lines were net, cards felt good to move around. Compelling gameplay loop.
I wish the "link lines" could be disconnected by right clicking the beginning too, or snipped along the line. It became a little annoying to try to hit the destination spot to disconnect them. Also I did NOT understand the Multiblock and it cost me the game twice. It never seemed to output. Does it output on the fifth activation? The money not being signal dependent could be explained on the money card too, as I tried to boost it at first.
I want more! It's good.
