My fellow game dev friend has spent the last 2 hours downloading a virtual machine and learning how to play this game. Watching him play it it seems like a really cool game.

cole-cecil 2024-04-16 14:57

@yoruvii That's amazing to hear - thank you. I appreciate his perseverance! 🙏

helviett 2024-04-16 17:05

Congrats on your submission! Love your instructions, CLI > GUI.

bowen 2024-04-17 03:45

Does this game have different ends in different os? Acutaully I dont know what I summon. But it's really good try.

cole-cecil 2024-04-17 04:21

@bowen It has different endings every time! But the game is the same on each OS. Thanks for playing!

james-greenleaf 2024-04-17 04:38

Great concept, and kudos for making a terminal game! Reminds me of a horror version of AI Dungeon.

cshep99 2024-04-17 04:41

interesting little text-based adventure game! and so tiny! most of the games I've downloaded so far has been HUGE!

cole-cecil 2024-04-17 14:39

@cshep99 I suppose that's one benefit of having no graphics, audio, or game engine! 😅

epb9000 2024-04-18 04:06

That's an amusing use for a GenAI. Was fun seeing what it would spit out at me when I did things like answer "pancakes" for every question

cole-cecil 2024-04-18 04:17

@epb9000 Now I must try "pancakes" for every answer. 😂

ryrumeli 2024-04-18 04:35

Definitely would never think of using GenAI like this. Innovation at it's finest! Kind of makes me feel like I am playing a really smart version of one of those classic adventures from yore!

I spent like 15 minutes just giving random answers, I particularly loved how it reacted when I replied with the first verse of "Never gonna give you up"!

cole-cecil 2024-04-18 04:41

@ryrumeli Thanks so much! It's great to hear that you got so much enjoyment out of it.

Spooky AI Madlibs.

I have to say that the Readme and EULA made me very wary of running this program, so mood accomplished. I hope my laptop is not haunted by this summoning I performed.

cole-cecil 2024-04-20 18:25

@vivid-hallucination Best of luck to you!

kaliuresis 2024-04-21 23:42

Capture.PNG Oh no, what horrific monster have I summoned? I had a lot of fun figuring out how to prompt jailbreak this :joy:. It's a pretty simple application of an LLM, but still very fun to play around with.

cole-cecil 2024-04-22 01:55

@kaliuresis I guess you unlocked the "good" ending? 😂 Congratulations! Enjoy your new companion.

custodi 2024-04-23 16:07

Intresting concept, but i did not get it, how to play and what am i doing wrong.

zimny11 2024-04-23 20:51

Really interesting idea. Kind of wish there was more story after the summoning. Also, I was able to just run the exe without using any cmd or anything else. Good job with the game.

milq 2024-04-25 09:59

Such a lot of innovation and perfectly aligned with the theme! I'm also thrilled by the bold choice to use a console application in the classic DOS style, which I absolutely loved. I appreciate that you indicate the use of the internet without collecting any information. It would be fantastic to have old-style speaker music; I think it would add a great touch. Great game!

joshua-miller-pio 2024-04-25 14:02

Really had a ton of fun you should be proud! Game play was really enjoyable, with a few polishes here and there it would be steam ready!

linus-lindberg 2024-04-25 14:34

Very fun game. It's a really compelling idea and it's a nice way for the player to show some of their own creativity. I wish the game was longer, with a way to interact with the monster once it's summoned. But overall a great game, I played it quite a few times to see the different kinds of monsters I could summon.

cole-cecil 2024-04-26 04:10

@custodi Thanks for giving it a try! It's kind of a twist on Mad Libs. The answers you give to the questions are fed into ChatGPT (along with a prompt I wrote) to generate the creature description at the end. The creature that gets summoned is supposed to have characteristics that relate to your responses.

cole-cecil 2024-04-26 04:13

@milq Thanks so much! As for the disclaimer, my AI lawyers told me to say that, so I'll pass on the thanks! 😂

cole-cecil 2024-04-26 04:15

@joshua-miller-pio Thank you very much - I AM proud! 😎 Also, I'm currently working on some post-jam updates with enhanced "graphics"...

cole-cecil 2024-04-26 04:16

@linus-lindberg Thanks a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed the creativity aspect, and it's nice to hear you got several playthroughs out of it.
