I love the artworks and the music is really great ! I had some issues to fully understood the runes behavior but after a while it was ok ^^

interesting game, but why am i summoning things when im summoning more bad guys to eat me :D i would make it that you summon minions to help you fight the monsters.

aznoqmous 2024-04-15 15:33

@leozero @jcmonkey thanks for playing the game ! Yeah its quite frustrating but I didnt had enough time to build a proper lore/tutorial as I planned to :sob: The idea is that you have to beat monsters to collect their souls, then use said souls to complete rituals to beat the final boss ! (spoiler alert, there is no final boss, yet)

Awesome concept and artwork! Really enjoyed it and the level of polish! Sometimes i wasn't 100% sure why my ritual failed. I stayed in the triangle. A small tutorial would improve it slightly but overall not much to improve already a high level

@widerhold Thanks for playing the game  If the letter in the center isnt fully filled at the end of the ritual, the ritual fail and breaks glyphs, summoning monsters I wish I had time to make it more obvious why the ritual failed !

That was awesome! I really like the concept behind the glyph summoning/upgrades for this kind of survival rougelite genre. It was really intense to stay inside the small area and defend from the monsters! Super cool idea.

I didn't really get a great sense of my upgrades taking effect tho, and it was quite an investment to complete a ritual so I wanted to feel a bit more of a power surge, especially in the context of a short game jam play session. It felt like a struggle to get the first ritual completed in the game, and seemed like the monsters just kept multiplying so fast that I could barely keep up! I wanted to be able to turn the tides after 1-2 rituals and feel overpowered!

But it was still really fun and engaging, the sound/music design was really immersive, the graphics very clean and readable. I love the starfield in the background, it really makes you feel like you're in some otherworldly dimension. Very cool game, I had a great time! Excellent work!

BRRRRAAAAAAAWWWWWWLLLLLLLL.......

I think I finished the game?

Anyway, this was great! The music here is fantastic, I loved the constant chanting. The graphics were great too! And the concept of summoning monsters which actually attack you was super cool.

As others have mentioned, it is a bit confusing - took me multiple tries to get it - but very satisfying once I did. However, the game did feel a bit too punishing - the monsters spawning immediately one you leave the triangle/the ritual fails can lead to immediate game overs, which feel bad. In general, tiny mistakes can lead to game overs extremely quickly, due to the main character's very low health & speed. In the end, the only reason I managed to reach even 3 glyphs was finding out that leaving the triangle during the final animation (the three circles pinging) still led to me getting the letter - which might be a bug.

Still, this game was very fun, just a bit too hard. Overall, awesome entry!

hehe looks so petty

aznoqmous 2024-04-16 17:51

@goodwincek Thats no starfield thats some harsh snow from the badly north steps ! :snowflake:

@frogman It is in fact just the beginning, you can now place 4 glyphs, and must complete a 4 glyphs ritual to unlock the next letter ! But there is near to no point to do so for now

@buloz u so petty :wink:

Interesting game! Not very intuintive mechanics of glyphs, but when I understood it it was fun to use

denvil 2024-04-18 17:01

Took few tries to understand the glyph usage. Nice concept with good athmosphere!

This is something that happened. I could still place the glyphs down but nothing happened. They just stayed on that position Screenshot 2024-04-18 195849.png

And when moving away it stayed like this: Screenshot 2024-04-18 200012.png

This took some getting used to, but you've already said you wanted to add a tutorial, etc, so I won't dwell on it too much. This is a really interesting idea, being forced to summon enemies to make yourself stronger. I would have liked to have seen some sort of run stats when I died, so I had some idea of how my run went. As it is I just die and restart and don't really know how I did. The overall atmosphere is wonderful, including the visuals and music, which is truly impressive for 48 hours. I think if you didn't have quite as much of a time crunch this could have been really wonderful, and if you decide to keep working on it you have a great base to go off.

I actually really like the simple but efficient graphics and the overall mood. Also, the game is really easy to play and understand at first hand. +1 bonus point for the music. Great job!

pikario 2024-05-02 14:04

Love the mood! Visually very polished, the little hand pointing in the UI is so cute.

Lacks some balancing, but great compo entry, thank you :)

jean-francois 2024-05-03 08:04

Well polished, well made game, didn't fully understand the mechanics at first :)
