super clean implementation! I loved playing that. got confused, felt clever, and thought I was lost at one point
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Euclid's Manor

super clean implementation! I loved playing that. got confused, felt clever, and thought I was lost at one point
Neat concept! Was a little short, but maybe I just got lucky in the paths I picked
The is the opposite of the limited space theme.
I felt I'm living in a limited Euclidean space, while this game is releasing the limits of space.
Didn't know it was possible to create a game like this in just 3 days, that's quite a feat! I did get lost a bit at the end after the exit door was opened. All in all, a good entry.
It obviously reminded me about Antichamber, and for the best! Liked the idea of playing with the theme and packing all of these rooms in a seemingly very small zone, good job!
@xlores-liang That's an interesting comment. I guess depending on your point of view, this game can fit the theme pretty well (everything is nested in one little room, even though it's a whole manor) or be the opposite of the theme (without needing to follow the rules of space then there are no limits). I hadn't really considered that angle enough, thanks!
I love the idea of non-euclidean spaces, and it was really cool to see it explored during this jam! I wonder how difficult it was to implement this in Godot. I think this game would've really been great if it had more ambience, either playing with some horror elements or going into the "liminal space" side of things. All in all, good job!
@xett Thanks for playing!
For implementing non-Euclidean spaces I used the more standard approach of seamless portals, unlike the more mathematically accurate games such as HyperRogue and Hyperbolica. Once I had working portals it was pretty straightforward to create these spaces, other than learning a new game engine, but getting the portals to that point involved mashing together at least half a dozen tutorials and discussions. Shoutout to the Sebastian Lague video (youtu.be/cWpFZbjtSQg) for the math and several reddit comments for the shader code.
I did actually run into an issue that I don't know if its a bug or rare documentation issue, but I need to look into reporting or fixing. For some reason viewport cameras weren't using a WorldEnvironment node no matter what I tried, so I ended up just disabling some of the engine's more advanced lighting features by not using a WorldEnvironment until I needed a skybox for the ending courtyard. That way the other side of the portals wouldn't look different when rendered with the main camera instead of the portal camera.
Overall it ended up being pretty manageable fixes to get stuff working, just difficult and time consuming to track down the issues because some of the features I used are relatively obscure. Also sorry about rambling on, I hope it was interesting.
A fun little puzzle game. I liked the idea, and I had fun walking around in the confusing maze. Some sound effects, and perhaps some music would have been great. Overall a pretty well made and fun little jam game. Well done.
I like the concept and looks like the game fits very well with the theme. I love this kind of walking games. But I think I got stuck in the 'A door has opened' part. I really don't know what do to after that. There is a potential for a narrative game too. The visual mood was great. Well done!
Very cool and trippy. Well executed non euclidean space game. I had a good time discovering the manor. Good game! Good job!
I made it to the end! I enjoyed wandering around and seeing how everything was all interconnected you did a great job with the setting and feel of the game, additionally as others have mentioned some audio and maybe some background music would have been nice. Nice work!

I really enjoyed the game; it's quite simple but has its unique twist. The gameplay is quite original, in my opinion. Keep it up. I won't mention all the shortcomings and bugs in the game as they have been described above
Such a cool idea, and a great execution too! It really does feel eerie to go through, and the implementation must have been pretty hard!
I like this kind of game (Antichamber fan), nice job on the implementation! When I got to the part with the window saying "A door has opened", I couldn't really tell what I was seeing on the other side. Maybe some extra decorations to act as landmarks and make rooms more memorable could be a positive addition.
