Although it has a bit of an unfinished feel, I really liked your original interpretation of the Harvest theme and the 3d environment. It was quite an ambitious idea, would have loved to see more!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Hey can you go harvest those cave mushrooms for me, thanks

I really enjoy the environment and the atmosphere! I feel like the way to move and pick actions are smart, however I couldn't make any progress :joy: Good job!
The idea is super cool. I like the graphics and the atmosphere; they remind me of the game Inscryption. It's an original concept with "harvest" and could be improved. The only things I didn't like were the tempo of the game (the movement, turns, opening coordinates, they take much time to do), lack of music and darkness. Alsoб I would like to open the game on full screen. Anyway, nice work!
Really good stuff. The cave theme and dark lighting with flares really gave it a unique feel.
Could not find the last 2 mushrooms though as it was hard to figure out where to descend to next.
A neat choice for locomotion but if I could get the game in to full screen it would feel much more natural.
I enjoyed the mood of the game and the ways it lets you explore via flares and ropes but would much rather prefer the free camera. (Also making a 3d game in gamemaker for a jam is impressive, don't know how actually hard it is, never tried it)
That's a neat game! I especially enjoyed the movement, it may be only a proof of concept, but I'd really want to see a full version of this, it has gigantic potential!
ok! strong vibes here! i became a mushroom-addicted spelunkinggirl for like half an hour! :two_hearts:
it reminds me of made in abyss x inscryption with some subnautica sprinkled it (NO MAP) and i liked it a lot!!!
the UX/interaction are really well designed and it was very pleasant to move around. it all responds to my micro movements and feels really good. also its possible to play with just the mouse using only one hand which is neat ;3
contrary to earlier comments i didnt have any issues with the speed of the movements, the system allowed me to move really fast trough the cave, the only moment that i wished it went faster was when climbing up the rope (but i get it, i'm climbing the rope so it's not that easy!)
the gfx and minimal sounds contributed nicely to whole low-fi atmosphere which i like a lot!! the flare effect is really good, with the subtle effect of eye adapting to the darkness of the cave again afterwards which was really immersive (bw i tried all the trick that i know to make the game fullscreen but no luck, i considered changing the resolution for a moment but i didn't do it in the end:sweat_smile:
you totally need to use this system in a longer game!!! i think its super good and fingers crossed for next ideas that you will make with it :fingers_crossed: !!!

the deepest mushroom gave me some scary vibes
very good!!! :two_hearts:
now i want to see the 3d map of the whole cave!!!!
woops sorry for duplicates website hiccuped on my side
yass here was another duplicate ;3
very high mood score for this! I love the visuals and exploring the cave, not sure if more traditional controls might make it easier to move around maybe but I do like the innovation there
Nice job!
I think my main critiques wouldn't have anything to do with the game at all, but rather how you presented it. The screenshots don't do your game justice, and the name "Hey can you go harvest those cave mushrooms for me, thanks" is odd as well.
It's a bit of luck I clicked on this game at all -and I'm glad I did! It's really fun and quite impressive for a Game Jam Game!
I really liked how you used both timed and turn-based elements.
I want to get farther - how do you use a flare?? I can open the backpack, grab a flare, but how do I use it? Do I have to wander around until there's an action for me to use it? I'll hold off on reviewing until I hear back!
@therealjtgill Harvest_hBzz69sUmy.pngAh! I probably should've tutorialised that better, thank you for asking! The light flare action is available from the backpack on the right side as long as you have a flare in the backpack.
Very different in controls and gameplay manner, but I liked it. It feels good to play something different than regular WASD controls. Also art is good too. One feedback: I wish there was a compass or something like that to determine the north, I know I can use PDA but it is a bit cumbersome to look at PDA everytime I lost my direction. Other than that, fun to play good looking game, a solid entry. Good job! If you would like to shred some zombies while drifting with your tractor, be sure to check out my entry, I would like to hear your feedbacks!
The controls are very smooth and very nice to use. The overall mood of the game is very well crafted, I personally really like the minimalistic introduction and the fact that you kind of have to discover the controls by yourself. Adding some living danger to the game and you would have had an amazing horror game (kind of funny that it is a random harver/collect game :D)
Also the game is well polished, not bugged, and that is always a big win for a game jam!
Wow! What a really cool game. I love the static controls in a 3D environment. It felt very smooth. The graphics are awesome and give off an awesome mood! I didn't finish the game due to time, but I was expecting a horror element at any point! My favourite effect is how everything get pitchblack when the torch runs out and slowly fades back to a low light. Really well done, I hope to see more of this in the future!
I found this game very fascinating and fun. I hope you keep working on this because it is the kind of game I would enjoy playing very much! Great job!
I love this! The controls and visual style create an incredible atmosphere. A compass would help a lot with the current system, I never ended up trying to figure out my position. More horror aspects would definitely be cool.
