Ha! A lot of fun. I couldn’t stop playing until I beat it. Took me 4-5 tries. How I wish there were a "hide" key — but you can’t have everything. Also, I was hoping for a more exciting “win” screen, but who am I to judge? Lord knows, my win screens are often lame. Anyway, one of the better games here. Nice work.
Wow this one really kept me on my toes! The difficulty is just right, it's hard but not unfair. I had to be laser focused to win and I love that. Gameplay, graphics, sound, music - every part of the game works seamlessly together to create a coherent atmosphere of dread. I especially like the music, it's the best track I've heard so far in this jam. Your use of the theme is also one of the more unique ones I've seen so far. You should be really proud of this!
@gamebuilder
I originally planned to have a separate hide key but it turned out rather impractical as you had to rapidly hide/unhide whenever you needed to maneuver quickly. So I decided to tie stealth to movement, stand still to hide seemed intuitive enough, but I agree that it makes it somewhat difficult to know if you are truly hidden or not.
The win screen was a last minute (literally) addition that I couldn't work on at all, black screen with white text just seemed natural after a fade to black, it also had it's own music but it doesn't play due to my poorly implemented audio player. Thanks for your feedback, you are the first one :]
@jakobthequizguy
Wow thank you so much! Glad to hear that you could feel the atmosphere I was going for, and that the difficulty is fair. My jam games tend to be poorly balanced so I did some work to make sure that this one was fair. I started as a composer before getting into game dev so feedback about the music is always appreciated :]
Great atmosphere and music. I like the difficulty curve. At the beginning I was thinking the game was too easy, but the difficulty ramped up and it got challenging. Always a hard balance to strike in compo games. Well done!
Amazing game! Great balance of opponents too. The first time I barely got away from one of those harvesters and it ran over a flashlight guy, awesome experience. Mood, lighting, rain, music, slightly slow movement really blended well. Great job!

Very good and complete game! Graphic, music, mood, good random generation and difficulty. It takes me some tries before figuring out what to do, but I can survive a longer time afterwile.
@the3rdhunter
Worked hard on game balance after making a bunch of extremely difficult games for the last few jams, people seem to think this one is fair so I'm very happy with the game's balance, thank you!
@joey-shipley
I'm very happy with the atmosphere on this one glad you liked it too. harvesters are intended to be a force of nature that may work in you favor or against you, and they turned out quite interesting.
@youjing
I was kinda afraid that it was a bit difficult to figure out what to do but people seem to catch up pretty fast, thanks for the feedback :]

Really good! The music and art were both amazing, especially for a compo game, and the gameplay was really interesting. I like the way the harvesters are neutral elements, but helping you by killing hunters and hurting you by taking away the cover. I was gonna say it felt too hard, and then I read a comment saying you're hidden when you stay still which I didn't realize, but I now realize was in the description so that's on me. I did beat it either way. Nice job!
@sito
Thanks for you feedback! I updated the page to point out that the controls aren't explained in game.
I beat it first time, seemed pretty easy, maybe i just got lucky with the rng. Music was nice and managed to be pretty atmospheric, art had a certain charm. gameplay is simple but effective enough. Good job
@automatonvx
once you understand the mechanics it becomes quite manageable, there are some scripted behavior to prevent easy rng wins so you probably actually played well on first try. Thanks for the feedback :]

This game was really fun. Difficulty was on point, took about 10 tries until I finally beat it, and each time I was like "Next time I win, for sure". The graphics and music really add up to the mood.

I really like it!! The style reminds me of courage the cowardly dog. Congrats ≧◠‿◠≦✌
Will play it when Im on computer, just came here to check what game has such a banger soundtrack. Audio and Mood are going to get rated high on this entry.
Great idea to let "enemies" interact with each other, hunters being crushed is so meaty. Some good dual purpose designs here

You got a lot of nice details in here! The grungy art style really fit the mood. The wavy corn and the rain were very nice mood touches. Also, the scripted setup (the first guard being grinded) was a very smart way to teach the player.
The rest of the game was tough! RNG was definitely the true enemy, as sometimes the game created pretty impossible situations for me. Still, every run was fun, regardless of how the last run ended up. Best I got was 42 seconds remaining. Having a timer running during the game would have been a great addition!
Great job on the music. I had a better chance to appreciate them from the OST you posted. Very nice!! Also, our games have some similar ideas. You should check it out! :D
@fedora
Did a lot of balancing this time, glad it worked out. Thanks :]
@astrid
Interesting comparison, it's unintentional but they really do have similar vibes, thanks :]
@jormarysky
Thanks, I was a composer before getting into game dev so I really appreciate feedback for the music. I like adding neutral "enemies" that work for both sides to the games I make, glad you liked it too
@hawkin
randomness is somewhat scripted to prevent impossible scenarios or very easy wins but might need a bit of tweaking, there also _is_ a very bare bones timer in the top left corner :P Thanks for the feedback both for the game and the music

@kizilejderha OHH, thank you! I definitely did not see it. Obviously there are many ways to make it more noticeable, since the player's focus is heavily tuned to the middle of the screen!

Thanks for submitting your game on the stream! Here’s the start of your game if you wanted to re-watch initial thoughts youtu.be/y26fNN5FUi0?t=5245
Loved the intro example for the harvesters and an amazing soundtrack! Great work!

This is much harder than it looks! It's difficult to gauge whether you're out of the hunters' line of sight or not until it's too late, so you have to be a bit lucky when getting out of the way. However, the game still manages to hit that sweet spot where you *know* it's possible, and you keep trying without getting frustrated. It's really satisfying watching the hunters get run over by the harvesters, though sadly it usually happens a second or two too late to save me :sweat_smile:
The graphics and music are excellent, and this is a clever interpretation of the theme. A top-notch entry all round. Well done!
nice ambiance here, i was captivated! it was kinda hard but in a good way! who knew 90 seconds could last that long! :D
I really liked the gameplay. Simple gameplay loop, but really effective. I was able to survive after trying about 5 times I believe. Well done with the game!
Really liked the mood you set for the game. Also, the particle effect coming out of the combine turning red after it has run over a hunter was pretty nifty. Great work!
Nice submission.
