Pretty classic feeling game, I got 65% just over 100k people escaped. Felt bad accidentally killing a few escaping ships 😱. Nice work.

Awesome. Missile Command rules, and this feels like that with faster pace and more complications, having to avoid shooting the survivors. I will say that the choice to make the game completable is a little strange, considering that original Missile Command would suit the theme incredibly well, but your decision to make it completable undermines that, since the destruction of all of the cities isn't inevitable.

Remember that you have to play other people's games to get ratings. This game is really good, and it'd be a shame to see it not get to 20 ratings.

Very nice game, it has this retro feel to it, and I liked how the firing mechanic doesn't restrict you in any way. Everything depends solely on your reflexes. This is a solid entry with 85% success rate)

@quinn-patrick Technically, the destruction of the cities themselves is what's inevitable. (Even if the game ends prior.) But the residents deaths are not. I wanted to add more hopeless scenario options but tragically ran out of time. I thought the more hopeless cases were more fun myself, but my family not so much. I adjusted it until my play testers could exceed 50%. Those hopeless scenarios will be included in the production release though.

I'm having to play catchup on rating due to receiving a Notice to Vacate. My weekends have been spent on moving instead of rating. Thanks for playing!

@lesinvisible and @jake-g Thanks! I was going for a retro feel. I actually got the idea for the screen color selection option from a MDA video signal converter which let you emulate different screen phosphors on the output.

Speaking of - for anyone reading this. In an earlier build, I had it play until the cities were destroyed regardless of citizen population remaining. It was just sorta boring.

Should I have added some additional gameplay goal between the time the final citizens escape and when you finally run out of resupply ships and the cities are pummeled to oblivion? (You get 15 resupplies in the final submission version if I recall correctly.)

First time stats: 7500, 172500, 95%. So it seemed rather easy, but was still quite fun, and the music and sound effects are pretty satisfying. Would've been amusing to see if you could outlast the asteroids after the final evacuations are over or something that resulted in a state where the evacuations never needed to happen. Or maybe for the asteroids spawn rate to become much more intense to where it's completely overwhelming and you feel like you lasted just long enough. Nice entry.

I like that there's a purpose to shooting down the asteroids. Normally it's more like "Do stuff until you inevitably fail/lose!" but the secondary element of evacuating the population adds a nice goal. But it's hard to quantify how successful you are at completing that goal. Is it successful at 100%? 80%? 50%? Which also ties into the difficulty. The game felt easy but I did not shoot down all asteroids, blew up one ship, and had a 85% success rate. That might be technically true but maybe the punishment for failure should be higher since thousands of people died :D

Perhaps somehow adding more flavor to the game would be a way to increase pressure. Like giving more feedback when a rock hits. Giant dust cloud? Tombstones? Interrupt the music for something sad? Change the music into a slightly darker version after each hit?

Anyway, these are just some random thoughts. You've made a nice solid game!

It gives me that old 8-bit vibe. Simple and fun. I like it

Very nice! Good old classic gameplay done well. Feels decently polished and very fun to play. Music is also very nice and fits well. I thought maybe the difficulty was a bit easy. Could have probably added another option for hard mode as it was quite fun to play and I'd have happily given that a try. Solid entry!

I like the proportions and the black and white of the visuals. The music is also nice.

This game gets pretty crazy! Shooting while avoiding the ships is already a tough choice, but add the literal split seconds I had to shoot anything down and I get to the point where I am shooting everything down! Really good set up for this game.

I eventually learned the shots explode where I clicked, instead of going in a straight line. This difference helped manage the asteroids a lot more. I also like being able to click which color scheme to have, blue is much easier on my eyes. Great work here!

There was a second or so when I couldn't shoot anymore, but I hadn't reached the completion screen, and I thought, is that it? I lost? I don't know if that feeling was built in to the design, but I did have a moment where it seemed like it didn't matter how good I was, I lost. (I was only 68% good.) Full marks for theme!

Very cool, simple and snappy arcade game! Took me a while to realize i could shoot past rockets without worrying about them blowing up, after that it got a lot easier. Love the monotone color pallet for that extra arcade feel. Music was also enjoyable!
