I loved the speed of game with the character dodge and fast transitions, the art is great and the game is very fun to play :)

A detail about balance that I noticed, the laser magic against the boss that shoots is very strong because with the boss's stop when receive a hit you can spam the magic on him without him being able to react

very adictive, a good game with some metal!

reneantunes 2022-04-05 16:18

Wow. Super polished, great art & game feel. I would have loved to have some little indicator to know which direction I'm aiming, but other than that found it really fun. Thank you.

Amazing, Lazer is OP, and magic balls are not worth the try. With a little bit more content, can be a speed run game

angelicad 2022-04-05 16:20

I love the wizard and his little animations! Personally I found it much too hard and wasn't delaying the inevitable for very long. Overall it's got a nice feel!

ildenh 2022-04-05 16:21

Amazing amount of polish here! The player momenet feels good. The sound effects and music fit the game perfectly. The action is kept with having instant transitions from level to level.

I feel as if the spells are a bit badly balanced as i felt the laser was pretty much the best in all situations due to it's high damage long range instant fire.

danc2236 2022-04-05 16:22

Omg what a great game. The music is intense and the graphics are awesome. The laser is super op and I love it. I played many rounds of this game, it was really fun. How did you make this in such a short amount of time!? I didn't find any bugs and I think it's amazing. Well done, thanks!

cievers 2022-04-05 16:22

This feels soo juicy! It wasn't completely clear that shopping a different spell replaced it, but other than that it's an amazing entry :D

charred-axolotl 2022-04-05 16:23

Really enjoyable game. I like the strategizing that comes from moving around to aim after clicking; sometimes it feels like a very light puzzle game in that regard. The music is nice and the graphics do a good job and stay consistent, so nothing is distractingly bad.

I only have a few criticisms. The big one is that, to me, everything except the laser magic seems kind of useless. I'd basically call the fireball "hard mode." Nothing wrong with different options being harder to use, but it was weird to see them all displayed upfront like equal choices. Only other thing is that it could get annoying to spawn in a room and immediately be shot by an enemy. Some areas could have benefitted from at least a slight buffer before you had to dodge fire from a guy right next to you.

Otherwise really good, one of my favorites I've played so far and one of the first I'd be interested in coming back to to play more after the jam's ended.

Really cool art and music! Thanks for the fun game. I got a lot of pleasure from it.

pizzart64 2022-04-05 16:23

Super fun game with great art but gets a bit repetitive after 10 levels or so

Extremely well polished, fantastic job and good use of the theme. I noticed the enemies got stuck on walls occasionally, but that's not worth deducting points, implementing proper pathing takes time.

Very nicely done! The game is very polished, and has some satisfying movement and mechanics. I liked the fast transitions after beating a level, kept me in the zone! The lazer was very overpowered compared to the other spells though, both because it hits instantly through the whole level and because it goes through walls, which is super nice against the ranged guys.

Anyway! Very good game! I enjoyed it a lot! <3

This is a very well polished game, really good job! :)

I tried a run with all three of the spells, and I felt like Lazzer was definitely stronger than the other two. Fireball was just too slow, where you were still waiting on it to do anything even after the spell went off, and I didn't want to get up in my enemies' faces to use the multishot attack 😅

I really liked how you stretched the theme and made it work for you! I've seen a lot of games so far where the player is forced to delay an inevitable outcome that they don't want to happen, but I haven't seen anything where the *game* is delaying something that the player wants! That inversion was extremely satisfying :)

Awesome! Super polished and really fun gameplay. Love the art too. The lazzer is definitely a bit OP though haha. Well done!

polymathld 2022-04-05 16:32

This is exactly my type of game! Played quite a few runs. Very satisfying, loved all the player feedback and juice/gamefeel. I played with all the spells offered, and my favorite weapon was the laser. I was only able to get past the first boss, unfortunately--the game was quite difficult. I don't mind the difficulty but maybe a 3 second countdown when you enter each room would be welcome, since you often spawn in a dangerous spot? Sometimes I felt like I didn't have enough time to react when I first started a room.

Also have to compliment the art, which was polished and good. And even though I know you opted out of the audio category, the music really enhanced the overall experience. Love me some metal/hard rock tunes. Nice choices.

mr-kitkat 2022-04-05 16:34

This game is awesome hahaha I really like all the different weapons, and the art and juice looks great! The game is, however, quite punishing, I never got past stage 14. Great entry!

chewiecb 2022-04-05 16:38

This is fantastic, really well polished, all the spells feel like they have a punch to them and I love the music combined with the fast paced nature of the game! Laser beam seems a little OP being able to shoot through walls, there was definitely some turtling strategy going on haha - amazing work!

sodoj 2022-04-05 16:51

Oh my God, as a huge fan of Binding of Isaac, Nuclear Throne and many more bullet hell games and rougelites, I loved this one!

One thing I'd probably add is the aim icon instead of usual mouse cursor.

Other than that, loving it! One of my favorite entries so far! Great job!

reispfannenfresser 2022-04-05 17:07

This game is super fun to play! The weapon variety is great, even though I don't see much use in the fireball. It's like a slow laser that doesn't go through walls. (Might have been interesting to see it bounce around the room or something) The laser at first seemed op, but, since the cooldown increases with every upgrade, it gets very difficult to use on higher levels. The magic balls are very fun in later stages. Close range combat initially seems like the worst option, but it's faster and thereby strikes before anything else can hit. It really added to the quick nature of this game.

Even though it's probably not intentional it was very cool to charge up spells while rolling towards enemies. I hope it's a feature because it felt risky and satisfying.

Overall this game is pretty polished. The only issue I encountered was that the upgraded fireball immediately breaks when standing next to a wall.

Great job!

One of the best games I've played so far! At first, I was expecting something slow-paced because the Web player didn't run the game immediately, but when it started up, and the music started playing, I was blown away!

The fast-paced bullet hell gameplay and the graphics were the highlights of this game, especially the player character's design (cute!), and the font that was used, along with the fast and short level transitions. The music complements the fast-paced nature of the gameplay, and it's a catchy beat.

When I first started playing, I thought I had to hold down the left mouse button to charge the spell, but I just had to press it, which was still a tricky juggling act, especially with enemies approaching quickly, or those pig heads with their fireballs. But the controls didn't hamper the overall gameplay in the slightest. What I also didn't notice, though, was the spell I chose (the laser) doesn't run into walls. However, it's slow to charge.

As for how this game fits into the theme, it doesn't matter, as the other elements strongly made up for it.

In all, this game has high marks from me! Great job!
