My achilles heel is to make SFX. Maybe if I've spend more time on it, it would be good. Maybe it would be better leave sounds away, but it is what it is.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Trip to the unknown

I can't believe you made this in a weekend. The SFX felt pretty good to me. I think if you had another day or two this puppy would shine. Great work, you should be very proud of yourself. Thanks for stopping by chat to say hello to me as well :)
Reminds me of the movie "Finch"
I like the concept of being stucked in the desert while a sotrm is coming. However, I did not know how to move farther form the van, i was not able to add fuel. Very nice design
Really cool graphics. Enjoyed the 'bonk' sound when hitting something while driving. Overall felt pretty nicely made aside from clearer instructions on what's supposed to be happening. Didn't figure out that i have to enter the truck immediately.
Very nice atmosphere, I've spent most of the time just admiring the view and walking around the city.
It was a bit confusing at the beginning that you don't enter through the opened doors, but rather have to walk around.
Great game!
That game kinda reminds me of The Long Drive.
I liked the gameplay and the graphics and sound design were both pretty nice ! I feel like the storm could have been a bit faster, at first it really felt like I could take my time
Sounds were pretty cool, so was the aesthetics for models and the overall atmosphere. The game has potential but it gets very repitive in terms of motivation to move forward as every stop is the same ruins/abandoned town. Nice work though
Cool concept, and great models for only 48 hours. The collision on some of the buildings is a bit annoying. Other than that, great entry and something I could see growing into a full sized indie hit.
I don't know how this second comment got here. Please ignore (or delete, if possible?)
@EagleV I don't see any
Love the graphics.
It's nice madmax like experience! Some nice survival in the desert going on here!
Really deep atmosphere. Nice. Could be developed into a great Mad Max Survival RPG. :)
As a concept, I enjoyed it quite a bit! The setting and art style are all great. Well done!
Great atmosphere and graphics. Maybe it could use some random/procedural generation in the city.
@kromeboy I was planning to do procedural generation for the cities, so it makes clear that player don't travel to the same place, but every time visiting new city. But time was agains me :)
Cool game and atmosphere! I think there are some invisble walls that are avoidable: * At the start you could maybe just remove the city. Then the player doesn't want to go there and its maybe a bit more surprising when the player reaches the first city * You could also add a texture of path or street where the van is able to drive. Though this might destroy the feeling of driving in the nowhere, so not sure about that
You did a great job at placing the first toolkit, I immediately found it and could figure out what to do
Super cool concept! Amazing art especially considering the timeline, and a very unique take on the theme. Overall it felt somewhat more like an interactive novel rather than a game in terms of how it's played, so if there were some sort of story as you went along, it could be super engaging. Also it took me a while to figure out what the goal was at each step, and I think it could help with clarity to reduce the number of things going on in the very first scene to help call attention to how to start. It would also be really neat to have some sort of musical ambiance, not necessarily music, but something to help expand the feel further!
@oadt At the start I've planned to just make some sort of bunker, where you've hinding so player would know that they are running from something or leaving the place for some reason. And the reason will be seen in a few moments as a storm (tornado) that comming for the player.
Yes, it will remove the feeling that you drive into unknown, but the original idea was with the ending where the player reaches some place it dreamd about, so in this scenario you'r right and I will take a note for this, thanks!
@auxiliarymoose Yes great idea! I wanted to add the music as an ambient, something like in Outer Wilds but completly forget and remmember when I saw that the time I have left for finishing my project is around 1-2 hours, so I just tosed this aspect from a project. I ofcourse will consider it for my next projects!
A really nice journey ! :D We all run at of time for our project, but you done it well ! Your low poly model and your environment told us a story. You made a nice tornado. Well done ! (Add some post-processing effect like antiliasing, vignet and play with a color "Life, Gamma, Gain" and you're good :) ). BIG GG for this COMPO game !
it's just simplfied The Long Drive game :D Really cool nice game with great atmosphere, nice 3D graphics and design. THanks also from me for sharing scripts, i will investigate something as a beginner unity programmer
@bohmann well it's just a requirment for the category
I can really see this polished and expanded upon. I found it a little difficult to know what was happening, there were no instructions or notes left around, like for what the tools are for or how much damage the truck had taken or if any. Good atmosphere and sound. Nice game. Thanks for making it, I enjoyed it.
gotta rate you high for both mood and graphics, the visuals are really nice and work well together to create a better sense of for the world, well done!
Nice art, environment and general atmosphere (even the sound, for a compo game, it is pretty good!) Gameplay was a bit too simple to my taste, but as others have said, this could be the base for something bigger.
