The controls feel fluent, and I really like the background art and soundtrack! Also, I really liked how the player got introduced to the controls.

I have to admit that I did not manage to get to the bullet hell part, maybe I was going the wrong way but there seemed to be an impossible jump.. (or maybe I am just kinda bad haha)

A small bit of constructive criticism would be to reduce the time to respawn, especially given how often you die haha

Love the idea of watching your corpse where he died before, yes you can guess, I died lots of times! I liked the music and the way it made me want to run faster and faster. I don't know why but after diying like 10 times the game started to bug, music started to have some delay (it can be my computer anyway). But generally I liked the experience! Good work!

Game was really fluid and controls felt tight! Was a bit confused as to how the theme tied into gameplay.

movement feels great however on gamepad change sprint to a trigger as its quite annoying to hold down the sprint button while trying to jump. Also please add a instant restart button as every time I died I had to waste a decent chunk of time staring at my corpse. Background art was excellent. Overall great fun just needs a little control remapping

Super meat boy!

A pretty simple but fun game! It's really hard on a keyboard, but that's on me I guess. It fits the theme very loosely though, or maybe I didn't understand something. Also really simplistic, but great music and art too!

Nice entry! I really like how the wall jump felt. Defiantly better with a gamepad like you said. Nice work!

The platformer segment controlled quite well, the music was nice. Only thing is i have no clue when the double jump is available and when it's not. I assumed at one point I needed to do it after a wall jump to continue but I couldn't, so sadly didn't see the second part of the game. Also as magpie mentioned, holding down the x button most of the time felt a bit meh, maybe change it to autorun, X to not run?

You have most of the controls locked down really well. I found going down a bit clunky and slowed down gameplay but I do agree it's probably better played on a gamepad. I loved watching my corpse but I didn't like how long it took to restart. I wanted to get back to the gameplay quicker.

cool meatboy vibes, is there an impossible jump? movement feals good and free, nice art!

ty-victorson 2022-04-08 04:41

Game was pretty fun but I never got past the platformer part, I feel like you could remove the sprinting function and make it always one speed since you end up sprinting for almost the whole time anyway, as for the music it was great never got repetitive and fit well with the gameplay! Nice work!

This was fun :D Graphics work really well and controls feel nice. As said before, respawn time could be shorter and more instant. In these type of games it's fun to die a lot and learn from mistakes, so quick respawn is very nice to have. Other than that, great job! :1

Game reminded me of super meat boy. Platformers like this require good controls over anything. It's very hard to get it right but you did a great job and got very close. Midair control and double jump felt a little bit off. The respawn time was too long for this kind of game. Usually you die a lot and want to be back into action asap ~~instead of having time to contemplate your life choices~~. But other than that pretty good job. Graphics and Audio are really nice as well.

The bullet hell part was unexpected but cool. I died after a few waves. Is this endless or does it have an end? I felt like the movement was a little bit slow to react to all the bullets. Also maybe making the player/bullet hitbox smaller would probably make it feel slightly better when navigating through lots of bullets. Really liked the soundtrack in this part.

All in all great entry. Keep up the good work!

Really cool game with nice design in both parts. Part 2 had a few bosses where I could not move and defeat them. It was really tough otherwise. Good job!

Wall jumping was a lot better than I feared it would be, love the little ghosts that pop up after you die spawned enough for a haunted house after a while, I would recommend resetting to checkpoint a lot faster after dying in a game with a lot of deaths. Good work.

Nice game! The art and the audio worked well with the game and I thought the hint text was well done. I did have a bit of a problem with droping through first though as it wasn't clear that I needed to hold down and then jump (I spent a while just holding down or wall jumping up the wall to see if the fall would make be go through ). Either way great work!
