Pretty good. Interesting take!
Took me a bit of time to get the idea, but it's fun ! Creating a card game in such a small amount of time is hard, good job !!
Ooh a card game! I'm still a pretty new dev but this is on the list of things I'd like to make one day. Congrats on making this for a jam!
The core gameplay felt pretty solid. Card effects were clear, but a little underwhelming when compared to the enemy cards. I understand that's to serve the jam's theme, but I'd like to see a version that lets the player feel more powerful. Another way to do this would be to allow the player the choice to play more than one card at a time. For example, if you choose to play two cards, the AI also then gets to play two cards. It would let you feel better about combining buff cards with attacks while also increasing the feeling of risk and reward because the AI could do the same.
For the presentation, I think the big green background was a little much. Maybe it was supposed to feel like felt-topped gaming/poker table? Also, moving the "flavor" text to the bottom of the card might make them a bit more readable. Not quite an issue because the player cardpool is small enough. Oh, and putting individual buff timers on the screen might help. Maybe keeping the card out with a number/counter in addition to the net % change? Small things that make the game more player friendly.
Overall, this is a cool thing you did. Well done team and keep making games!
The cards are pretty funny. And i like that the enemy has a pretty high advantage over you, which makes it feel more like i am merely delaying the inevitable.
@harrison-dunn Thank you for your your extensive feedback. Those are all great suggestions. We decided on weaker player cards to fit the theme but I can accept that that could feel unfair. The background was meant to emulate the a poker table but at lower resolutions it may look a bit pixelated and not come across as well.
@harrison-dunn really appreciate the detailed feedback, and glad you thought it was cool too!
@ildenh Thanks for your feedback. Yeah we had a lot of fun coming up with the cards and their descriptions so i'm glad you found them funny.
Hilarious and depressing at the same time 😠Good fun! The text on the cards was also very funny. Great job. I got wrecked inside of a month!
The idea of creating a card game about economics is a very interesting term. I loved it.
try to win by all means, but it is inevitable. I really liked the game, and especially the concept.
The mechanics seem to work without problems.
I like the idea of trying not to get out of cash as the delay the inevitable theme, wish some kind of soundtrack asides from that is entertaining and such a great job for a jam!
Nice little game, had fun playing it. Not a lot to add to that statement, so I'll just say good job to you two!
Fun Concept, made me want to find best plays. Would be nice if there were some more options to pick from.
I liked the game and thought it might be even better if you could battle other players.
26 days before crush... Is it good or bad? XD Funny game, I like such things. Some background music will do a lot of good, too
I've saved it to play again later ))
@elena-s That's a great score, we did loads of playtesting and even we didn't get that high most of the time, glad you enjoyed the game too :)
@pegasus Ha-ha, maybe I should have become an economist, hmmm?.. XD
Interesting game, a little hard to get the hang of though. I still had some fun with it. The card art and descriptions were humorous. Felt like there was only 5 cards though, maybe I was unlucky with drawing.
@real-flamingicecubegames thanks for the feedback. There are 8 player cards and 7 enemy ones so yeah it seems you got unlucky with RNG. Glad you still enjoyed it though.
nice idea, I liked the cards! I wish there was more variety, but for a gamejam its pretty good! :)
Love the cards humor and art. The game would greatly benefit from some juice like sfx and particles or something, but the cards themselves really carry this entry for me!
This game was really intuitive to play. I liked the overall flow, and I found it easy to memorize the cards which made it easy to get into a rhythm with it. I kinda wish the buff cards lasted longer so you could stack them up for combos more, and it seemed like insider trading showed up a lot. Other than that though this was a solid entry that made me think about how the real world is headed for the end ;-;
Nice game! The game concept fits the theme. Well done!
Interessante a ideia, só colocar mais cartas que da pra fazer um jogo daora :D
I am not a card-game player but I liked reading the cards :-P I missed some more SFX / music, and it seemed that I got the same cards again and again. Other than that I enjoyed this entry, goob job!
Ok, took me a couple of trys to understand this game fully, but I get it now. It is Inevitable that the stock market will crash. I think I like that more than the inevitability of death and other similar takes on the theme. The sound effect of the cards was good, although I would have liked some music as well. I understand this is a game jam though, so I can’t be too unreasonable XD. Not a huge fan of the card game video game genre, but this one was pretty fun actually. Also, the game was pretty funny. All around, good job!
