This game may not be very involved but it was fun pumping up my highscore a bit. I got up to 3404 using a strategy involving holding left before spawning in.

Small things I liked: the falling platforms feel pretty good. The sound plus animation on them works well. The animation and sound for the death animation feels good too, with all the platforms shaking.

It is possible to get softlocked by getting stuck inside a platform. It only happened to me once. In general it seems like fitting in the 1-block vertical gaps is kind of janky.

Overall, this was a fun entry to play for a couple of minutes.

Good start. I found it a little difficult to control, and I wish there was some more room to squeeze through the stairs.

Its a very funny game! Good job!

maluskhan 2021-10-04 12:01

Like honey-pony I often get stuck in the platforms, which ruins all my efforts x) My general feeling is good, I wonder if this mechanic combined with side scrolling will be interesting ?

quasar098 2021-10-05 13:42

@honey-pony @maluskhan Yeah I had a lot of problems with collision and hitboxes. Pygame can be really finicky sometimes. Am glad you liked it though.

Sidescroller idea is actually a good one

It's actually a simple but fairly well done entry! It's a jam, so never be too harsh on yourself!

The movement felt about right and just needs a little tweaking, and the falling platforms were nice. Really just wanted the goal to either be to an endless climber or an endless runner! Game would work great as either I feel like.

Funny, quick-paced, perfect initial score of 69. Wish there was more nuance or any additional mechanics, because the core is very fun and entertaining. Hoping to see it developed further!

Very juicy graphics and presentation. Unfortunately (news to me) I'm not an epic gamer, but I'll manage. Pretty solid for a first jam!

cynthianconspiracy 2021-10-09 07:34

Not bad presentation! Love the menu screen. Biggest problem is the controls all being on one hand, ow. Please let me use the arrow keys on the other side…

quasar098 2021-10-10 15:47

@cynthianconspiracy yeah i tried that but it would just be a bunch of "or" statements and would look messy. I've tried multiple ways but it just doesnt go well with python coding

kubikz 2021-10-10 19:13

The game is okay, really liked the concept, very simple. A little bit too simple though, I would add something to it.

quasar098 2021-10-10 21:45

@kubikz was planning to add grappling but didnt get around to that. 2 days is a really short time i guess

I love this

ronanrory 2021-10-21 17:25

I like how simple this game is, though unfortunately my monitor resolution is too low for this game, so I couldn't see the bottom of the screen. Though I'd be great if there was more to it, like if it was level-based or you could grab a randomly spawning orb to regenerate tiles somewhere in the stage. Also, as soon as I started the game, I immediately fell to my doom, lovely.

It's not very easy making a game in only 2 days time, so I won't blame you for making something simple, that'd be stupid of me, and everyone else. This is one of a few games I've played that weren't made in a preexisting game **engine**, and that makes this pretty impressive to my eyes. Great job!

zachsbutt 2021-10-21 18:10

very simple! not much wrong with it, I do wish there was more to it though.

@zachsbutt i now decree you are a true game :sunglasses:

quasar098 2021-10-22 22:40

@ronanrory yeah 2 days isnt enough to account for all monitor sizes... it would take at least another 2 hrs. glad you enjoyed it though!
