Stay Away! by exilegl 2021-10-09T23:46:43Z

I like the overall composition a lot! The choice of music goes really well with the sketch graphics—almost reminds me of “How My Grandfather Won the War”.

The big problem with the feel is just that the giant invisible hitboxes make it almost impossible to navigate—which gets very frustrating in the later waves, watching enemies that you were anticipating being able to reach quietly smash into the target while your character suddenly refuses to move on the other side.

Other than that, good stuff.

Really interesting presentation. Sadly, too frustrating to get further than dying to the pyvpxref a short ways in, especially since I didn't want to play fullscreen—retyping the resolution settings every time and then listening to the same recording before you can get out the door gets old fast.

I'd be interested to see what else could be done with the lighting engine you mention—I feel like the little snippet of game I saw probably doesn't do it justice.

Ambitious entry!

This looks really up my alley, but full screen with this fixed FOV makes me too motion-sick to be able to play it :-(

Really good sound design, agreed! The pickaxe controls with trying to aim the head are interesting but confusing at first. I also didn't *find* the pickaxe the first time, and I didn't realize I had an inventory limit either until I noticed the top right of the screen—I thought there might be a glitch due to some crystals falling out of reach, at first.

I really like how there's more falling spikes as the cave destabilizes and that creates an extra challenge with having to use up pickaxe durability and time to get through them sometimes.

By the way, full screen at this FOV has a tendency to give me motion sickness issues… resizable window and/or FOV options can be important for that sort of thing.

Unstable Alchemy by AAAAAAlois 2021-10-10T04:31:11Z

I love the mood in this one! Experimenting to try to fulfill the alchemy recipe is really neat. Music and graphics help set the mood. The order of steps being very strict was a bit confusing when objects in the room silently don't interact when you're on the wrong step… and after I tested my first elixir, I got into a weird state where the game still said it was time to test the elixir but I couldn't go back down to the dungeon or do anything else.

The full screen size at this FOV made me kind of motion sick, but the game was slow-paced enough that it was okay. But it would be better to be able to resize window and change FOV.

Not bad presentation! Love the menu screen. Biggest problem is the controls all being on one hand, ow. Please let me use the arrow keys on the other side…
