Fun game! It definetely worths playing all the way through to get to the pick of the mountain :laughing:
@dak001 thanks for feedback!
I love the idea, the controls are simple and yet the game has a nice amount of difficulty. Failing doesn't feel so bad when the sound effects for falling off the mountain are so good :laughing:
Definitely a fun little game. A little bit complicated at the start with how to use the rope, but after you get the hang of it, it's definitely something you can enjoy by the side. I quite like the music and the general aesthetic. The voice acting is also pretty funny.
Didn't think I would play for quite awhile, but I did. My general criticism is that the text could be quite hard for some users to read, and that using the rope could be a little finnicky to use. Maybe once you selected the rope, it's automatically "equipped" and you're safe.
I had fun playing your game :). It got really intense at times, especially with the music. Your visuals and animations are also pleasing to look at.
I couldn't reach the top, but I did see some clouds! Fun game, I would have liked if you could switch the tool you were using through the keyboard like with (1, 2 or 3)
Great job!
This is a fun game to play with! I enjoy climbing up the hill and trying to be stable along my journey. Just Gonna say the tools are not easy to use the first time, but overall Good job!
@icedjam thanks a lot for your feedback !
@shade2810 thanks for awesome feedback and constructive criticism!
@coelakan thank you!
@shadowmyst we will think about it and thanks for feedback!
@foursay We appreciate that!
I had problems using the controls right I guess... I don't know if it's just me but the controls weren't really intuitive imo...
Otherwise the game is fun & I love the game art!
@lucy-lu thanks for feedback!
I really liked SFX in the game, I struggled a little bit with the gameplay, but overall it was nice.
@stanroy Thanks a lot!
Very impressive bgm and SFX, but I think need a tutorial. Some of the mechanics make me a little confusing.
I found it quite difficult and frustrating but also really addictive! The random hazards made me mad, but in a way that made me want to keep playing. Probably tried it a few dozen times before I had to give up. I think the controls are a bit difficult to pick up as others have said. I think they would work better on mobile than on a computer--having to quickly mouse over to the buttons then mouse back to the playing field was really tricky. Perhaps assigning them to keyboard buttons as well (like 1,2,3 for example) would help. Anyway, I thought the game was really thematic and creative and I had fun trying (and failing!) to beat it. Nice work!
This is a cool and fun game. The only issue there can be is the controls, other than that it's amazing. Good job! :slight_smile:
Fun game, feedback would be I wish I could switch up the controls using keyboard (or if I can wish I knew). Also the "distance" you can reach is a bit of a problem where the curser should be bound to (for example use the vector of the cursor to dictate direction but then have the length dictated by the tool so having mouse top right and clicking would use that tool to its maximum distance
I liked the game, but the controls were very wonky. Idk if it was my fault and I just didn't understand the instructions. Took me a while to figure out what everything did but eventually got the flow of the game and finished it! Cool experience, liked the graphics.
your game is interesting and the audio is great,but the control of this game is a bit confusing.Any way it is a good game!
The game is fascinating in some places. but because of the loss of control I did not think it was possible to get to the end. and at first it is not clear why the hero falls down
I don't think there's enough guidance in the game, maybe there's more clarity in the introduction about how to play? The main character kept falling, and I hadn't even done a few jumps
@meredori @astropower @polymathld @guimoliveira @cukeds @giuyyt @guinytime @rainbowdied Thank you guys for feedback and constructive criticism!
I was happy to click on Setup first and read the instructions, else I would probably be at a complete loss. There are only a few mechanics but they work well. It's more challenging than I though. The falling down sound made me chuckle each time. Nice game!
the idea of the game is cool and plays very well, except for some blunts with the mouse. The soundtrack is certainly my compliments. It would be finished off a little and there will be an excellent climber simulator.
Controls.. need a lot of improvement. It's hard to move around when you need to wait about 2 to 3 seconds for the in-game hitbox to follow your cursor to new position. Also the falling boulders warning zone (the grey area before the boulder fall) is innacurate, sometimes i still got hit by it even when i'm out of the zone. Tutorials should be shown before the player starts climbing, i had no idea there's a tutorial until i explored the settings. The weight mechanic gets annoying as the game goes on because the character is so heavy even the thick rope gave up on him. I would rather have more frequent landfills or falling boulders rather than falling off because of the character's weight when i'm 300 meters away from the goal.
Well aside from the many subpar elements of the game, i had to fervently worship the BGM and overall sound quality. It was sublime and took me off guard, i didn't expect that quality from a game developed in 72 hours. It was something worth a ton of respect or even, a standing ovation.
Pretty cool. Once you get into the rhythm of it, it becomes pretty...gripping. Took me a while to get how to use the rope. Sometimes a little harsh, but in a good way. Reminded me of 'Getting Over it',
Ok, there's a problem. The game doesn't launch in Chrome (at least now). What am I doing wrong?
@bauke-regnerus @wyl-team @bgdc @fromthechasm Thank you all guys a lot for your feedback we would try to make controls cleaner and improve them!
@ardorugus bro idk what’s happening but by all other users it works, try one more time
Fun game, once I got far into a run it felt really satisfying. Only issue for me was that sometimes the stone rope wouldn't work when I was clicking it.
@idan9000 thanks for feedback, it happens sometimes!
The controls were way too unresponsive for a game which requires quick reflexes. Most of the times I died it was because the event happened where you need to use a rope, but after switching to the rope it took a few seconds for the box to start following my cursor again, so I fell before there was anything I could do about it. It was a neat idea for a game, and I liked the simple graphics and the sound design, so I really wanted to play the game to the end, but I had to give up because of the controls.
@asimir thanks for feedback, we are fixing it!
@asimir we fixed it
I don't have time to use the rope. it seems the game ignores my clicks. the idea is interesting.
At first the game was incomprehensible to me. I had no idea what the items were for and how to use them. When I somehow jumped I fell for seemingly no reason. Then things slowly started to make sense, I learnt what the items were for and how to use them and what the warnings meant.
And at that point the game was actually good! So please on your next jam take the time to make an in-game interactive tutorial, it's really important and helps a lot with first impression!
The game itself feels rough, slow and unpolished but despite of that it's fun to play, nice job!
Hahaha I loved the concept :smile: Quite hard!
It is really hard to navigate, but I managed to get a few meters upward until the area gets smaller. I clicked a little bit to fast between rope and dig so I ended up having freezed movement only capable of eating chocolate for the rest of my life.
I think this game has lots of potential if the reaction timeframes aren't that tight. Some other indication aside of the warningsigns would be great, since its not so distinguishable taking the time factor into consideration. One possibility would be to flash the entire mountain when you should rope.
@romandviski @jackaljk @froissant @fis thank yall guys for feedback and constructive criticism!
This is nice implementation of rock climbing game, reminds me a bit of this years' Japan Olympics' doodle minigame. Great SFX and BG music. Would have reached the top, but it's really frustrating, when 1/3 of the time rope / shovel wouldn't work even after pressing it (idk why? maybe too long distance, maybe to secret delay between actions). Also not sure how to lose weight? It looks like using rope multiple times reduces more energy and less weight, than restoring it by eating chocolate. Looking forward to UX feedback updates.
Great game! <3
@bloodycoin thank you.When you are in the end.You choose go-for-broke (eat chocolate) and climb as fast as you can or die.
@kirby thank you
