Solid mechanic, i like the idea of a platforming minesweeper, but a little clunky, and not really polished or visually appealing. Still, good.

Very fun idea! I really enjoy minesweeper and mixing it with another genre is really interesting.

Looks like we had similar ideas :joy: . Really cool that you added an element of character movement and you managed to solve the "delete all 0 adjacency" squares problem which I didn't get to. Awesome job!

Really neat! Quirky character and neat gameplay. I think you could have really benefitted from a music loop, though, even a simple one!

I love the Mr. Driller mixed with Mindsweeper motif! Well done!

I realized I don't really remember how to play minesweeper as I endlessly ran into mines hahah but that's on me. it's a really cool idea!

A really interesting idea! Got to about 20000 or so. I'd like to see another mechanic added that puts time pressure on the player, that discourages them from doing a breadth-first search across the bottom (which can get tedious), e.g. spikes coming from the top of the screen so the game becomes more about recognizing minesweeper patterns quickly and less about moving around to find safe tiles. I'd also consider shrinking the player hitbox to mitigate some control issues.

Cool idea and a neat little jam game :)

Good entry and really interesting concept! The mechanics of trying to solve just enough to safely delete a few numbers to continue moving down are novel and challenging.

I really like minesweeper so this game is fun to me :)

when a block is confirmed, it just disapear, that makes me forget what was there so I can't find mine correctly ;( it might be better if it becomes transparent backgrond?

This was a really cool idea that would be awesome with extra polish. I found a way to phase through the wall and was able to rack up points pretty quickly. I found it funny that I could place a flag after I hit the mine. Screen Shot 2021-04-26 at 10.27.34 PM.png

Very innovative and unique! Would need a bit of polish, but an overall very nice submission.

Really cool twist on the classic game! It took me more time than I'd like to admit to wrap my head around the empty blocks. For some reason, I kept thinking that there could be mines under the numbers. I think I was thrown off by the fact that blank blocks can appear at the borders of the empty space, which can't happen in the regular game.

Minor gripes, I'd like to be able to use WASD, arrows + mouse is a bit awkward. Also, middle-clicking on a number that's next to that many flags should reveal the surrounding squares. Not taking points off for these but it's a bit tedious to click all of the blocks surrounding a 1.

It's a great take on the concept of minesweeper, a small tutorial option would have been a nice touch to help those who haven't player minesweeper before.

jakegames2 2021-04-27 02:43

Interesting mechanic, I had fun with it. Much like real minesweeper, there does seem to be a lot of luck involved. Sometimes you can drop hundreds of tiles and other times you can struggle to even make it past a few. The movement is a tad finicky but otherwise works fine. Good job!

sugarsugarsugar 2021-04-27 02:46

My years of minesweeper practice will definitely help here! It was a very neat concept. I clicked on a tile relatively high up and the entire map just revealed itself! Untitled.png

I really like the idea.

dainthedeer 2021-04-27 03:23

Oh man thanks for all the comments. I started a day late on the jam and really wish I could have added more polish :( next things on the todo list were audio and graphics (the tiles were going to look like dirt and stone with numbers on them).
