It was fun. Maybe some hit SFX would be more juicy when the I'm on my murderous madness 😈
I find the black "entities" really chilly :O

During the first minute I really thought this was just going to be a The Stanley Parable clone, glad I was wrong (Even though I loved The Stanley Parable)!
Very, very impressive game! I especially liked the audio and how it changed dynamically. The gameplay was varied, fun and satisfying. The story was interesting and the graphics, animations and effects where top-notched.
My first 5/5 in all categories rating! Fantastic job!
Really cool use of lighting with the enemies! Level layouts and music were extremely solid.
I enjoyed it! The fake error at the beginning got me. I got Stanley Parable vibes on the first level. I liked the easter eggs, like the LDJam webpage, and the "Stonks". The stealth level and hacknslash levels were fun. Thanks for making it!
like the easter egg references and enjoyed what i could play, but i think the stealth bit was simply too dark! great music!
I really like the premise here. A lot of the lighting was great, very moody, and the story kept my engaged, moving along.
--- SPOILERS: PLEASE PLAY THE GAME FIRST! ---
One suggestion: The first stealth level was really engaging until I realised I could just run past them all with no issue. This seemed to be true of all the levels - you just had to get to the end. Some other fail state or incentive for not being seen would go a long way!
Also, I honest to God did not see the twist coming. Dual use of theme, descending deeper down the floors, and deeper into insanity. Nice work!
Thank you! It makes me realize I love my job and I'm happy to don't work in places like that, colleagues looks very strange. I didn't get the use of the SHIFT button, they have killed me every time
So cool graphic, i like it. Very epic music. Really nice work!
omg this is deep (i loved it)!
That was a nice short game. A bit too easy to beat, but it was fun to play. The stealth level can be finished by just running to the elevator. The graphics and the sound are great, they really set the right mood. Nicely done!
Pretty good lookikng gameIt was enjoying to play this. BUT where is my good ending? I tryharded the game to finish without killing anyone, but at the end the voice still telling me "you killed all these people..."
The use of "insanity" as a theme seems like it wasn't taken seriously and was executed in very poor taste.
I'm going to be kinda harsh here, and I'm sorry about that, but I want to be clear that just because it's a jam doesn't mean you can fall back on dangerous, lazy cliches about mental health. The topic itself isn't off limits, even for violent or shocking games, but this game shows a complete lack of interest in doing it justice.
Ultimately, I don't know what you want the player to feel regarding the story and how it interacts with the player's actions. The monsters attack me on sight, and I'm supposed to attack back, so of course I'm supposed to think that my character was misinterpreting what was actually happening and ultimately feel bad about killing all those people with my axe.
But... if that's so, is this *also* an indictment of the player, for enjoying the killing? This is a technique that's been used a lot in other games, but here, oddly, the game doesn't *actually* force me to kill anyone, and indeed, it's actually *less fun* to focus on attacking, so the mechanics don't line up with what the story twist seems to want to tell me.
Also, why did I get to keep my axe in the padded room? Is the axe real? If not, did I actually kill anyone? If not, why am I in the padded room?
My overall critique here is that nothing really lines up when you start putting it together. That's perfectly fine most of the time (especially for jam games!) but this is not a topic to treat in a "haha insanity is crazy, whoo!" kinda of way.
Some positive notes: I did like the way the game started, with the error fake out. It's cliche, yes, but so is every zombie movie, and it was well done here. I also thought that the use of locked camera animations for "cutscenes" was very well done and generally well-paced throughout the game.
So, I didn't like this game, obviously, but I want to give credit where it is due: it shows obvious technical ability. A sincere congratulations to you for creating a action game with multiple mechanics that also tells a complete (if awful) story. That's no small feat!
I hope next time you put that talent to better use.
At first I was trying to crouch with the right shift button but it wasn't working. It took me a few deaths to figure out that I needed to use the left shift button.
When trying to swing the axe I had issues balancing using my touch pad and the keyboard.
Overall I think it was an interesting submission. I liked the little easter eggs I found around the office. The mood was set when I discovered the Help Me sign on my coworkers desk. I also loved the Ludum Dare page that was up on another computer.
I also enjoyed the voice acting. I brought the game to live and made it easy to understand how the main character should be feeling. It created the pace for the game, but I wish the audio didn't play everytime I died and respawned at the elevator. It took away from the adrenline of the experience. I would be tense from my death and ready to jump in and fight but would have to take a moment for the dialogue to play again. I"d find myself in my head going "Come on hurry up" which is not something I like feeling in a game.
Thank you for sharing.
i found that you can just evade all enemies without crouching. the axe was really fun to use. graphics and audio are nice, the number of levels is just right for a small game jam game. you got the scope of it correctly ! good job !
I was going for a similar concept with my game, I also had and elevator and shadowy figures :). This gave me a pretty bad case of motion sickness tho (I get it with certain fps games, in this one it was low fov and slow character movement). But from what I played I liked the visuals and the general mood.
Cool graphics, It was really fun to use the axes to slay the ennemies ^^
Nice to see you here! At the beginning of this month, I started a new job and realized, that during the probationary period without benefits, I would not be able to afford in person this online therapy. I felt overwhelmed with anxiety and desolated, because I did not think I could cope on my own now that I had started seeing someone. So, [i don't love my wife anymore but she loves me](https://us.calmerry.com/blog/love/what-should-i-do-if-my-wife-isnt-in-love-with-me-anymore/) and she mentioned this Calmerry company to me around Christmas Eve time. And now I will be able to lead more shiny and a cheerful fulfilling life!
