Nice

I wish there was some gameplay, but the atmosphere and the sound/music is really well made. Well done.

Great athmosphere but gets boring pretty quickly

squeg-inc 2021-04-26 17:53

Not much gameplay here, but the mood and atmosphere is bloody wicked and makes this game an experience worth trying - even if it is only for a minute or two.

wuzzywizard 2021-04-26 18:11

Very ceepy mood and gives a nice feeling with the sound

jetthesimon 2021-04-26 18:16

Really nice atmosphere and stuff. I wish there was maybe a story or slightly more variation so I can tell I am progressing. Great job though. Loved the art style and mood like I said.

I started seeing faces in the walls from the mood.

Nice atmospheric game ! I like the aesthetics and the sound, mood is perfect, the gameplay is not very interesting but it's not the purpose of this genre of game, and that's fit the theme perfectly, good !

thoastbot 2021-04-26 18:21

The mood was AMAZING, but other than that... Even after ~15 Minutes on "W", i realy wanted that ending... other than that my flash light broke half way throu nothing happend.

Tell me is there anything? q.q

I guess this entry is more about the proof of concept than the gameplay.

It's a great basis on which to build something imo. I imagine little slits in the wall through which you could see a creepy story going on next to your character or anything really, there's alot of possibilities here.

The way the character moves is interesting. I think the bumpiness of it is good, move-stop-move-stop. But I think the stops could be a little bit shorter tho, I think the best solution would be to have the movespeed gradually slow down but not to a complete stop, and then back up.

Just my 2 cents :)

linus-lindberg 2021-04-26 18:52

@thoastbot The flashlight breaking is the "ending", I'm amazed you made it that far! :)

afuturev 2021-04-26 21:28

Best mood I've seen so far, carried hard by the great soundtrack. Did you make it yourself? Graphics look nice, I would have liked to see the arms move a bit more varied. Overall I think it needs some sort of clear ending.

cottontshirtz 2021-04-27 04:23

I absolutely love this game! While the graphics and audio really set the mood, it's the feeling that you need to keep going that makes the game. There's no going back, and there's no stopping.

linus-lindberg 2021-04-27 06:44

@afuturev I made the soundtrack in garage band. The main ambient sound is a sequence of synth chords distorted and played super slowly.

so flahslight dies and game over. :( wanted to find an opening somehwere. crawled forever. Hope someone plays my game that long :) mine could take 14 min best to beat. maybe an hour of walking. haha, lesson learned.

boclow 2021-04-28 06:05

I liked the slow build up and it felt like new kind of stone structures appeared at right pace so it felt like I was crawling in somewhere new. Audio was good, especially when the music started. I really hoped there would have been some sort of conclusion at the end so I crawled in the darkness longer than I want to admit. Nice atmospheric experience.

timbertoes 2021-04-28 06:38

I gotta admit, I never liked walking simulators much--but a crawling simulator? Something about crawling through a cave as the light fades was actually terrifying. I had no idea if was going to get hit with a jump scare, ambushed by some lovecraftian creature, or if I was just trying to crawl to safety. You definitely made a cool atmosphere here. Add to this and see where it goes. Great job :)

xpycm 2021-04-28 11:17

I like caves. I like the game.

humphreysmedia 2021-04-28 12:36

Great concept, and really fits the theme, I'd would have loved to have seem some extra bits such as shadows moving or movement noises to really add the spooky atmosphere and almost make it feel like there was a reason for crawling away, but great submission. Loved the graphics!

threeli 2021-04-28 18:51

I'm not sure if there could be a more precise application of the theme. The audio is superb. The mood is dense. I hope you expand on the idea, it feels like there's a million directions it could go and not give up the sense of dread and wonder you've produced.

elvinn 2021-04-29 10:42

Good game. I liked it. Sounds are well immersed in the atmosphere, only they would be more.

itsisaac 2021-05-02 11:15

Great atmosphere and mood had me playing for a while.

prodigalson 2021-05-02 19:50

I don't know if this is supposed to be soothing, thrilling, suspenseful, or just busy work but the mood, the audio, and the visuals work so well. I'm personally afraid of finding myself in a situation like that where I cannot even look behind me and I can't see much in front of me and the snail pace just adds even more to it! Very unique and clean execution. :D

pierce-brooks 2021-05-12 03:33

I was overcome by the dread.

neowhoru 2021-05-18 12:09

great mood.
