Nice concept, Interesting idea, amazing graphics!
Hey don't feel bad about the music, I thought it was quite entertaining :) Somehow I bugged it to fire two weapons at the same time :laughing:
Cool concept and graphics! Nice job!
Fun game made in this short time! Sometimes i think two weapons fired at the same time. Sometimes i didnt understand the instructions. Perhaps is because i read them in a rush to keep moving and avoiding enemies. Overall nice game!
Pretty interesting. I had some trouble understanding some of the weapon descriptions ("small medium laser?"), and ended up adopting a strategy of just seeing if it would hurt me and if not just shooting around. In the end I think the timer takes away from the random weapons, because I didn't really have to figure out how to use them. Still, fun, played a few times, and did get to the end (Yay!).
Thank you so much for feedbacks! @vegmuffin @azagaya So it was intended, weapon have two effects at the same if you deep enough
@chris-mondo Sorry my english not good enough :)
Very interesting twist to the idea! I've never thought that digging could be this exciting. Audio and art style are pretty and atmospheric. I feel like weapon pictures could be more descriptive as i lost quite a bit of time reading (maybe it's my fault though, lmao). I enjoyed playing it!
@skelleroznik Thank you so much! Idea with descriptive weapons image is so cool. It's a pity that I didn't think of it. For now it's just a random image.
I've gotta say, the time limit really tested my reading comprehension skills. Reading, figuring out what it means, and then figuring out where to put the mouse was a lot for just 6 or 7 seconds. I think a little help parsing the instructions might be nice, highlighting key works like "Right", "Left", "Laser" and so on. Otherwise fun little game! The stars always killed me, dang going through walls.
Circle fights Squares to get Triangle. I legit adore that you embraced the minimalism for this compo entry.firefox_WRJIS3pSGy.png
This game had quite some layers of fun and... ehem... depth to it, and I like it a lot for that. Very early on, I found myself reading every effect and calculating when and/or how to use them. Took a long time, and I still died a plenty.
So then I had a lot of fun left clicking willy nilly and cycling through all of the effects very quickly. It was both a marvel and hilarious. Yet, I found out my own explosions could kill me,and they did a lot of times.
By the end of the game, I was being more conservative. Still spamming, but being more careful about the surroundings. I eventually made it to the end! Whoo!
Simple yet effective. The randomization of tools really helped this game pop (and, between us, I'm a big fan of randomization ingames). Congrats on participating on the compo! Seems to have been well worth it! :whale:
@nardandas Thank you for your feedback! Yes, I think you are right, it might be nice if I highlighting some words to make it easier. I would also like to make the weapon image descriptive. I want to make it as the jam ends.
@Moski Wow! Thank you very much for such a detailed review! I really appreciate it!
Your game is a beautiful game indeed! I liked it a lot, it is really fun and hectic, good job!
@bicheste Thank you so much! <3
This was such a creative entry, just reading the description already sounded right up my alley and reminded me of Super Crate Box. The randomized weapons were really fun to experiment with and I love that you threw in some surprises to discourage spam clicking! (Getting hurt if you click on the left side of the screen, or healing if you click on the right). It almost had a Warioware vibe to it in that you have a short amount of time to learn a weapon and try to execute it in a way that gets you deeper.
The art and music were good, albeit a little repetitive. I did like finding hearts in the environment, having other pickups and enemy types as you get deeper would help lengthen the game and add more excitement. Stupendous job, especially for a compo!
@rosypenguin Thank you so much for such a detailed review!!! (By the way, I think your game is the best game in the jam. Amazing job!)
I won!
I really liked the idea, and haven't seen anything like it before. The weapon icons give you an intuitive sense as to how they work, which is great when they're constantly changing.
The weapon usage did seem to teleport me around, which was weird. I gained the most ground by just clicking near the bottom of the screen, and it would teleport me pretty big distances forward.
There was also a ton of screen space, and the weapons carved out really big paths, so it was really easy to avoid the squares. A bit more difficulty in that regard would have been nice.
Great work for your first compo entry!
@andrewkennedy Thank you very much!
Very fun!
Very fun game, i didn't stope playing until I rescued my beloved triangle YAY. I found the mechanic was a bit unfair sometimes but when you remember a bit the simbols of the weapon is pretty fun to play. You did a really good job. Congrats!
@karo Thank you! :)
@re-lo Thank you so much! Yes, there are some problems with the balance :(
Great game! I really liked all the different types of lasers there were. Sometimes it was difficult to read the weapon descriptions, especially when I was trying to avoid enemies, but it was good for the most part. Good job!
@gullyngames Much thanks!
