I love this idea!! "Cyber heckspace" is too great. Awesome!

This game was really cool! I literally jumped out of my sea when the first blade (?) enemy dropped down. Maybe I missed it, but I wish there was a way to heal myself. Overall super fun and I'm gonna try to beat my high score!!

Interesting Concept, Amazing Graphics

The blade enemy is really cool and I love the grappling hook. I wish the player movement was just a bit faster, I feel so sluggish compared to the enemies. Idk if there is a powerup that gives that or not

I would have liked to have heard a sound effect when you hit an enemy and kill an enemy. Preferably particles, too, but sound is more important. I wasn't sure what the upgrades did, but I liked the one that made you shoot faster I think. I love the grappling hook! More games need grappling hooks. The game felt very hard before I got the speed powerup, I would have appreciated the starter enemies being slower and having less health, or the player being faster and being more impacted by the raygun knockback. Fun game all around. I hope to see you in LD49, cheers.

I fealt that the game was really missing walljumps. Sometimes you can't get up a certain wall without grappling to the ceiling which is out of camera view. Overall, nice graphics, grappling hook is really cool and maybe the enemy amount should be toned down a bit.

My first impression of this game was quite good, but the lack of balance, music, and player input (the fact that I felt like being on the ground and jumping was quite useless, as the pile of enemies would just pile on to you) brought that opinion down. Really solid concept, and the grappling hook is awesome, but the lack of the 'stuff' mentioned above is all that needed a bit of revision really.

The procedurally generated levels really surprised me, very nice! I also loved how satisfying it was to control the character. The gun was super punchy and the grappling hook felt intuitive and fun to mess around with on its own.

I do wish that the gun packed a little bit more of a punch damage-wise as it did visually, though. As it stands, it takes forever to kill a single enemy, and I didn't notice any sort of reward for getting kills, so I usually just opted to grapple hook out of danger instead (which was definitely fun in it's own right!)

This would be neat to see expanded upon, nice job!

I played a few times through. I like the feel and the look - very cool - and the grapnel thing was fun. I found it frustrating that the skull guys could get on my head and then be unshootable unless I got some distance - I understand it should be hard, and that bad guys on your head should hurt, but I felt like the mechanics were getting in the way of fun there, and I'd rather just take damage while slowly killing them than have to do all the weird jumping. Very hard. Graphics and mechanics very solid. I got quite a few powerups after a while, but I didn't really know what they did other than the health kit. I imagine there's more complexity than I was able to survive to see. Random maps and multiple enemies were cool.

Very interesting concept and the graphics look great. Also liked the random levels, though you generater could need some work (At least for me it sometimes generated impossible situations). Really cool game, nevertheless, and great interpretation of the theme.

Had a ton of fun with this! It starts off fairly slow, but the pace picks up when you start to stack up items. The only thing I didn't love was the sledgehammer item (whichever one makes you slow)... or at least how *slow* it makes you. It makes navigation feel pretty tedious. Other than that though, really nice job!

batjak03 2021-04-27 07:11

I loved the grappling hook system - it was a ton of fun to swing around and snipe the enemies.

mhorth 2021-04-28 22:30

The grappling hook felt really good, and the gun audio and visual effects were fantastic! The difficulty curve is the only part I'd say needs attention.

Really good for a game jam! Multiple enemies, proc gen levels and fun mechanic! Took me a while to get the hang of the grappling but I enjoyed it! I didn't really know what was the point of the items, but I found some of the flavor texts for them funny. Maybe the items could influence things like the player's damage/fire rate to encourage combat more?

Overall I'd say you did a great job!!

Wow cool idea!

aguahervida 2021-05-11 23:19

Neat platformer, I would say that the difficulty curve may be too tilted ,maybe easing it would be a good idea, i loved the art and the mechanic was simple but fun. Keep it up!
