WOW really beautiful! The only thing is I don't understand- why so many people made it XD

strangeryann 2020-10-06 21:29

Thanks a lot for your feedbacks @humanisred --- we just like the challenge of working with big teams - it's just our thing, I guess :-P

Interesting game! In the process, I really wanted to put a pause to think through the actions and place commands.

kszaku 2020-10-10 15:54

Umm... I'm not entirely sure, whether your game works correctly. Or maybe it just has not explained itself. I try to drag and drop different commands from the inventory, but it does not seem to have any effect whatsoever.

Also timeline is only visible on the first run - then it disappears.

Could you explain it to me (or maybe better - place "How to play" section somewhere)?

stellarbeargames 2020-10-10 15:57

I think there's a bug? I tried to move right then jump over the first obstacle. It worked but only the first time. Then I couldn't progress because the robot just moves forward, ignoring the commands.

This looks like it would be really fun. The graphic design is phenomenal and I love the little Dio-like droid. Congrats to everyone!

Nice game!

tatawanda 2020-10-10 16:26

So many people and not one to do a release in html5 ? Apart from that, cool game :D

mcovert 2020-10-10 18:50

Was super frustrating trying to operate on a moving timeline - would have really liked the game to pause or something between rounds, or let me manually pause.

Took like 5 tries to get it set up to dodge the first laser gate... and then it didn't successfully dodge it on later attempts, so I'm even more confused now.

fatalcaca 2020-10-10 19:12

I’m not sure it works as intended ? I couldn’t really make the character move (even having set a move action + a direction) It moved to the left & likely died (I’m not sure :p) but after that it didn’t move left/right ever Also, being able to pause the game to setup the action timeline would be nice ^^

strangeryann 2020-10-10 19:20

Thanks a lot for all your feedbacks - most of them have been addressed at some point in our design process but our time management was unfortunately a bit messy and de facto, they're basically all caused because our current build is still full of bugs ^^#

ianmust 2020-10-10 19:21

I like your idea, really cool! Also, the music is very atmospheric! But during the game, I had annoying bugs, like move action didn't work after first usage or I deleted left direction from the timeline and couldn't use it anymore

But nice try anyway!

I am genuinely at a loss about what I'm doing.

LD47_TCC_5nNRNkLU8z.png

The game has a strong first impression, with nice aesthetics and a very dramatic audio. But after restarting a few times, mixing and matching commands and sometimes getting the robot to move, I was still not certain of what I was doing right or wrong. I can't tell if I'm doing things incorrectly, but from the tutorials and comments, I'm currently at a loss.

If you do end up adding some instructions or tweaking anything that could have been problematic, I'd like to be notified. I wouldn't like to be unfair to your team, since it's clear there's talent and effort.

strangeryann 2020-10-12 12:12

Thanks a lot for your comment @moski - it's unlikely at this point that further updates to fix existing bugs will happen for this game - but if anything pops up, I'll sure to let you know :-D

niterich 2020-10-13 19:03

I wanted to play this because it looked like an interesting concept that had a nice visual style. But actually playing was an extremely buggy experience. I kept running into the very first laser gate because I didn't know you needed both a direction AND a movement command - I would have assumed the direction would be enough. I understood quickly enough, but I panicked because the timeline moves so quickly and accidentally ran into the spikes to the left. Once I restarted, my character's sidestep became so limited that it no longer passed around the laser gate, permanently softlocking the game. I think you have good presentation values but the game itself is virtually unplayable.

krysh 2020-10-14 14:35

I really wanted to play this but for some reason when I launch the side panels are cut off even in windowed mode, which seem to be super important. But I did end up just sitting and listening to the music, it's REALLY good! If you guys know how I can get it to work though I'd love to try it!

coleslaughter 2020-10-19 00:07

[Howdy, we played your game on stream last night!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/773934372?t=03h23m59s) Sorry if we go off on a bunch of tangents, we have a bad habit of doing that.

Unfortunately I don't think I was able to quite grasp this game. :slight_frown: Every time I thought I was making progress, it would seem like it stopped working on the next loop. I think if you guys dedicate a bit more time to teach the player the mechanics of your game, it could go a long way.

I dig the aesthetic and the audio for sure though. I'd love to see this in a more completed form in the future!

thulium-games 2020-10-19 00:44

Cool concept, I had a similar idea for my game. I couldn't fully figure out how to get it to work but it was still pretty good.

strangeryann 2020-10-26 08:28

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedbacks @niterich we really appreciate - sorry for the frustration and I hope you enjoyed the experience somewhat nonetheless :-)

Thanks to you too @krysh - unfortunatrly that's very unlikely - we did do a post-mortem but after that the team split - until some later Game Jam some time next year I'm sure :-D - in the meantime most of us were frustrated because we didn't manage our time so well during this LD [1st build --> hour 72 ^^# --> plenty to learn from for our next Jam that's fo sho :-D] so I'd be the first surprised if further updates are made to this game post-LD47 - I'd be sure to let you know if ever it happens tho :-D

This is mad @coleslaughter! Ill check out the stream some time - thanks again for presenting our game that is super kind! And don't apologize - your format is your format dude, what matters is that U have fun doing it - godspeed for your stream fam, peace out <3 :-D

And thanks for the feedbacks @thulium-games, too - I guess presentation is where we shine here on that LD47 ^^# - I'm still enamored with this banner [I'm not the one that drew it, in our group ^^#] - RIGHT!? <3 :D
