Yes, sometimes the power-ups that drop have physics glitches that cause them to fly outside of the "visible" range of the robot, leading to the level getting stuck. Unfortunately if that happens you have to refresh!
It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to kill the first enemy and win the rocket launcher. I killed the first enemy and the game froze :(
Solid gameplay mechanic once I understood the player's state machine logic. I played for a good 15-20 minutes till 9 logic slots. But I kept getting a gray rectangle in the middle sometimes obscuring my vision. I think it might have been the edge of the map. Does it have an ending?
It was supposed to dynamically go on forever, however we had some issues getting the implementation exactly right. So, yes, some artifacts when going far to edges of the world.
@anant-ahuja A loop themed game with an ending?? We wouldn't dream of it.
@fachscahfttf @bellringerquinn @anant-ahuja Hi, I uploaded a fix to allow the second level to be finished. Thanks for the feedback!
Couldn't get past the yellow robot, but this is really cool! I love the concept. Solid entry! If you ever flesh this out with more commands into a more complete game it could be amazing.
Great idea for the loop operation.
interesting approach to the programmable puzzle genre subtheme.
Love the idea!
This reminds me of those old Lego Mindstorms sets with the brick programming language. I do with things were a bit more explicit though, the rocket launcher bot was mostly luck as you had no real control over the engagement beyond swapping the tiles.
That said, I think there were smart compromises made for LD in terms of scope and accessibility.
Overall great job!
Great work on the theme! I didnt get the rocket launcher yet either (lvl2), but really liked the concept with the looped logic slots.
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
I like the idea of creating a loop of controls for the robot to use! Really neat idea, but I was unable to get the rocket launcher, My robot wasn't firing lasers at him for some reason, even when I set him to fire lasers. In any case, the mechanics are super cool, great job!
This is a really good and fun idea that you should definitely pursue further. The ground textures are very contrasting and give a weird feeling of how the ground actually is. Great work!
Really enjoyed being able to program the robot! Sometimes it seemed that the robot wouldn't completely follow my commands.
Congratulations! It took me a while to figure it out. Once figured out, it was really fun.
A bit hard to figure out and play, but the idea is very cool, and it seems to be running well, good job!
The textures visible on your screenshots wouldn't load for me, I only saw a black-and-red grid as the background.
