I liked the ludum dare simulator.
But I did not understand how to play the first game. I clicked all the buttons, all the cards, nothing significant happened, except for the "shop/deck" switching.

5/5 on theme for the second game! Well done
I can't understand the first game. I don't see any explanation anywhere. Maybe add that to the Ludum Dare project page?
Same as Recher, never quite got the first game. Second was a good joke :)
I agree with others. Game 2 is a winner!
Played the first game. I think I figured it out and did manage to win, though I have played dominion before so I had a bit of a base for understanding it. I think if you wrote out what some of the cards did and added some simple sound effects or visual cues that what you were clicking actually did something it would really help. Even an event log of what is happening on the side would greatly aid in helping people understand what is going on.
That being said I can see you took quite a bit of inspiration for Dominion, and as such I used a simple strategy that I use in that game which allowed me to beat the starting difficulty. Just bought lots of lightbulbs early, and then lots of magnifying glasses. Was neat to see a different sort of interface to a card game though!
As a big fan of cards games and especially dominion I had a blast playing the first game. With the help pop-up I was able to figure out what is going on relatively quickly and escape on my first try. I love it, good job.
Looks like I played an unfinished version. It works better now.
I agree with Phlip45 : a simple event log would help greatly. And I am still not sure there aren't any bug left. I got the cards "books" (pay 3 power to earn 2 search). I tried to use it : my power did not decrease and my search did not increase, whereas I had enough for paying.
2 games for the price of 1 deserves a 5start allrounder
I really enjoyed both games. Building a deckbuilder in 48 is really impressive.
At base difficulty it was really easy though, just go for some high end search strength and search everytime you can. So I think it needs some balance: There was no real insentive to fighting since the reward for killing a monster was just you losing time to get to your goal. I get that fighting should cost energy themewise but for balancing I would make it free (the cost is having attack cards in your deck). Maybe even give the player decent rewards when they defeat enemies.
Overall enjoyed the games very much. Thank you!
@evogengames Actually in 4 hours, not 48, haha, I had also built a drafting game in day 1 but it played like a s**t so I did not post it here. Thanks for your comment and have a good time!
@listonos Thanks for your comment! It feels so good to meet another card game fan here. Also, your submission is also awesome.
Good job! Javascript for the win! :D
That second game is a superb idea. I'm usually in a rush myself, so I do appreciate games on their dev/play time ratio. Good job!
Had really fun with the card game. The second game was funny. :D Keep it up!
the logo deisgn and the graphics are realy gooood
It is astonishing to see a deck-building game developed in just 4 hours, even without a game engine! I admire this skill so much.
As a fan of Dominion, I quite enjoy playing the Game 1. The only mechanism that I am not clear about is the purge card, because I cannot find the cost of initial cards. Do they cost 0 and will a random card be purged if there are multiple ones with the same lowest cost? I also wonder what would happen if I purge "myself".
The card game was a bit hard to understand, but once you figure out what's happening, it was quite playable. You could improve the UX a bit (including a visual tutorial) for a post-jam version, I think that would also make the connection to the theme more obvious.
Congrats on the double submission!
