I love the concept ! Sadly, I seem to get sucked into the black hole every time within a few seconds. Throwing junk out doesn't seem to alter my velocity enough to escape my inevitable doom. Am I missing something ?

@gamedev-and-architecture I can only share a few tips but I escaped with a good score so I feel qualified to give them: 1. Use your engines to escape (if possible) * Ideally you will get enough ship parts to repair your ship engines * if you do you will be able to use your engines to escape. 2. Ideally you will also be able to pick up the kitty too. 3. Toss the piano and vending machine and tires to change your trajectory slightly in order to pick up the ship parts. 4. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out (zooming out is probably most advantageous) 5. An average win might take about 5 min, but if you're lucky and you get the parts you need early enough you can win in under 2min. 6. If you want more clues and to learn more about the development of the game the developer streamed the whole development * [here's the final entertaining stream where he wraps it all up] (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/760594114) and with some special guests to make it even more entertaining
Good luck and have fun!

@gamedev-and-architecture I think the problem is that I used the FixedUpdate method to calculate the gravity, and so the gravity will be stronger at higher frame rates. This was an oversight on my part. I've updated it with a fix to hopefully correct this.
this was a real challenge!
and a lot of fun! I sadly left the cat behind before I realized it! Now I am going back for the cat!
good job!
@fabdynamic Thanks for the tips! :)
@jimmakesgames Thanks for the fix ! :) Took me almost 5 minutes to escape. XD
Anyway, I had lots of fun playing this game. The game mechanics are simple yet provide lots of depth!
@gamedev-and-architecture Thanks! Glad you enjoyed :D
Cool idea but there is almost no control, is more like a waiting game+luck, A bit more control would have made it a fun game
@axeltherabbit it's definitely hard to predict where your ship will go. I think an improvement that could be made is showing how your trajectory will change on ejecting a piece of junk. Thanks for your feedback.
Mac Catalina has been having problems with Unity games and this one was no exception so here's how to fix it: 1. In the terminal `chmod +x "Mac 2.app/Contents/MacOS/*"` since the new version of the game is called `Mac 2.app`
As always to work around the Gatekeeper security program use the RightClick->Open->Open trick
I didn't feel like it was all that hard to predict my maneuvers, but I guess I've spent a lot of time playing Kerbal Space Program. The biggest problem I had (and this isn't a complaint) was filling up my shuttle with so much garbage that I didn't have room for my cat, which I didn't realize until I got our paths lined up just right and flew past without snagging him. I thought that was a nice touch.
Hey man, watched your video on Youtube, your game is great! Totally matches the jam's theme! I wish there be some obstacles that could damage your ship on hit and some fuel to maneuver inside the loop. Anyway, good job!
@pizzasgood Ah yes KSP veterans will definitely have an advantage here. @nickpofig Thanks! Yeah some asteroids flying in would have been cool I agree.
I found out, that I'm a dumbass retard in a spacesuit without my KSP maneuver planner :O
I was not able to get all the parts, the game was pretty hard in my opinion. But it's neat idea and the cat sounds were pretty funny ^^
@kruemelkeksfan haha, I think the game would benefit from a way to see how your trajectory would change from each ejection.
Great job! I really enjoyed playing it, although I don't know what I'm doing. I seem to always get more or less the same score, even when I just leave the game alone without touching it at all (which just shows how much I suck at playing games)
I also think having debris damage the ship would be cool! If you have time, could you check out mine? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/loopys-run
Very cool game! I had a blast playing :D
Rocket science is hard. I had to eject one cat to make room for duct tape. Fun game. KSP skills definitely helped.
I can't say much about the game because I haven't got feel of it. I don't understand what I had done right or wrong it is very very difficult to figure out. But I like the setting, the idea of rescuing a cat in space and mechanics. I always like when someone experiments with something strange and weird. This game has such vibes. Thank you for pursuing this idea and have made the game out of it!
@dmitry-mozgin I think the game could definitely use some better visual feedback, like showing how the ship's trajectory will change on ejection of an object. As @vildanix says, having played KSP helps a lot with the intuition about when and how to eject. Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you likes the vibes :D
Honestly, I love the bare bones UI. There's a real sense of dread as you swoop past your cat into the great unknown :D. I hope this game finds its audience, 'cause it's great!
oh no i left the kitty behind. I really enjoyed this game simple but addictive and fun gravity mechanics. SOme "spacy" music would complete this
Cat is safe! Daily good deed completed.
I watched your Youtube video of you making this. Really enjoyed it. Graphics are good. Interesting game play, however it's really difficult to know what will happen when you eject something. But, I was fun watching everything swing around the blackhole.
