Great game! I just wish it had more levels.

merrow 2020-10-06 17:49

Nice idea, took a bit to check it but then was fun to stick arround.

twohands 2020-10-06 17:53

Nice idea an mechanic, bit laggy to stand and run on ghost cubes tho

sefan 2020-10-06 17:54

Fun game. The web build worked without lag for me.

flying-basement-studios 2020-10-06 17:55

Great idea! The game is fun to play and can be well extended if you add more levels. Good Job!

der-finski 2020-10-06 17:55

I am not sure what you mean by "very laggy" it was fine for me, fun game

treqie 2020-10-06 17:57

Cool concept!

lenophie 2020-10-06 17:57

Short, to the point, with a fun mechanic! Well done!

gamescodedogs 2020-10-06 17:58

Absolutely love the innovative gameplay. Getting some really warm memories about Braid game :) Keep going, I hope to see more less arcade levels in future :) Best of luck!

Really fun concept! Would definitely want to play more levels, which is exactly what you want from a jam game. The last stage was really hard, and I would like it if the ghost remained as a static platform when I hit F. Without that the timing was difficult, which may or may not have been what you wanted. Well done, guys!

amarillion 2020-10-06 18:00

This is a nice polished prototype of a pretty interesting game mechanic. And yes, I wish for more levels too, I think that this mechanic has more uncovered potential.

What would make it slightly better (I think) is if the blocks weren't so slippery, i.e. if you could let yourself be more reliably carried by a ghost block. As it is, you aren't really pushed forward by a block that you are on top off, you tend to slide off, which makes especially the last level tricky.

jean-philippe-brien 2020-10-06 18:00

Very nice game !! And for me webGl work great !!!

thomas-volpato 2020-10-06 18:01

It was a bit difficult to manage the ghosts. I wish it could have some background sounds too. The noise effect when the cube dies does not makes me feel immersive into the game

joeshanahan 2020-10-06 18:01

I love this kind of game! We almost went with a very similar idea, but it was too close to something we'd done before. I really liked the aesthetic you went for too!

I'm not sure what the solution for the last level was *supposed* to be, but I ended up doing it by accident? One of my ghosts jumped up from underneath me and propelled me to the other side. Was very satisfying!

I tried to recreate it, but the physics seemed to be a bit inconsistent? Sometimes I could stand on top of one of my ghosts and move with it, and sometimes I'd slide off. I think if this was a bit more reliable, it'd be possible to come up with some really interesting scenarios!

Great job, especially with a new engine!

nameless-ghoul 2020-10-06 18:13

@twohands @amarillion @joeshanahan I wasn't planning on fixing the jitter problem but I think I'll go for it anyway. The reason for the bug is that the movement capture doesn't work every frame for performance but we can adapt it to work. I'll ping you again once it's fixed!

nameless-ghoul 2020-10-06 18:15

@sefan @der-finsk @jean-philippe-brien

I'm glad you had no problems with the web build

nameless-ghoul 2020-10-06 18:16

@thomas-volpato we added the sounds last minute so the quality is pretty bad. I don't think we'll return to that part of the game but we'll see what the future has for us.

nameless-ghoul 2020-10-06 18:19

@petter We considered keeping the platforms in the air but that made the levels too easy as you could easily pass all the puzzles using that.

sli 2020-10-07 21:34

Great concept. I was ready to play more levels. I liked how you made your colliders. This can be expanded pretty well I think. The web build is OK btw.

abdul-zakkar 2020-10-07 23:45

Wow you're right we have a very similar game! I should have known this would be a common idea :) well done with the design.

mhm32167 2020-10-08 16:40

This was actually quite fun. I played the whole thing, and sacrificed a few dozen ghosts to complete the last level. It would be interesting to see how you could expand the puzzles, e.g. traps or levers. The idea has potential and you could go quite far with it. It just needs a little polish, especially in terms of sound and music. I like the concept and I like that you used the Godot engine :)

PS the web version was fine

kromeboy 2020-10-17 19:50

No problem on the web version for me
