I love the cartoon graphics and simple visual approach. I played the HTML5 version, and the navigation did not seem to work. I was not able to move though the rooms. Consider adding arrow buttons to make it more clear how to navigate. Also consider adding navigation instruction in the description. I was initially trying to use WASD and arrow keys before realizing that I needed to click instead. Overall, a great start on a fun game!

Loved the mood and the jump scare when you get...gotten...by the monster is exhilarating. My only complaint is is that it maybe goes on just a bit too long, given that there isn't too much to do in the game.

How the rooms are laid out and where their navigation points are is a little confusing, otherwise a really cool concept.

Things really started to get intense once the water valve started turning. Was close to the end but it got me!

I think flipping the arrow for navigation when you're going down/back would make more sense. Good idea to put the icons on the wall to indicate burning the paper. Altogether great job!

@studiocurtis Thanks for playing! I just added a controls section in the description, thanks for that! I can see why it can be hard to navigate through, I probably should have had more visual cues and clarified how to exit rooms and stuff. Thanks for the feedback!

Mood is 5/5

For how silly the art graphics are this got me fairly tense a few times. I jumped a little the first time I noticed there was something in the pipe room.

The mid-way point was really fun and intense. How slow and boring the beggining is makes it kind of annoying after a few attempts though.

One suggestion I have is to make arrows of something to indicate where the next room is. It was kind of confusing which side I was supposed to click on to go to the other screens.

Overall it was a pretty good take on the fnaf-type survival horror game.

@pretzol Thanks, I'm glad my feedback was helpful.

I liked the tense atmosphere in the game. It was difficult to understand at first, but I liked it overall. It's a different game from the other jam games I've seen so far. Good job!

Real horror in full screen mode! The water valve was a bit confusing until it starts leaking. Nice details to indicate the monster.

pretzol 2020-04-25 15:00

@yy404 Sorry about fullscreen, I didn't really think about that. Thanks for playing anyways!

yy404 2020-04-25 16:55

I mean that I was really scared:) Very immersive in full screen! Amazing game!

This game is very special. A little bit difficult to understand what is happening and how to navigate at the beginning. The atmosphere is worrying and well made. The only thing I have done is giving paper to the fire, then a creature kill me. Seems interesting, but I don't understand what to do with the pipe...

pretzol 2020-04-27 15:20

@matootsy Thank you for playing! The pipe's use is that, if there is an enemy in that room, you can hit the pipe on the wall to scare it away. I've noticed that a lot of people are getting confused, so I'm going to make a quick gameplay video to hopefully clear some of it up.

edit: Finished! Here's the vid: https://youtu.be/3N-DAnsrDlU

Haven't seen many horror games in the jam, nice work mate! :]

aguahervida 2020-04-28 00:04

It's weird to see Horror games here in a jam, that sets your game appart, but it felt kind of unfair sometimes, there were times where I was hitting the like crazy but still 'it' would still catch me, there was no way around the fire place when 'it' is there so no more paper and no way to pass through, still a good way to make a simple horror game, the mechanic is interesting and you have to be on your toes the whole time, great job.

achiliuus 2020-05-06 18:07

The audio is fantastic and brings a lot at the atmosphere. The gameplay is a quite difficult to understand at the beginning but after many tries, it become natural. Good job and nice try for a horror game.

adam-clayden 2020-05-09 19:11

Fantastic game! Really liked the atmosphere and the game as a whole as events unfold. It got pretty hard and intense towards the end but was still very enjoyable. My only recommendation is to give some visual feedback once the valve can't be turned anymore. At the start of the game I tried to use it and thought perhaps it was broken. So adding a sound effect or something to indicate that it's stuck or something would be good.

Good job with this game!

space-man 2020-05-11 03:22

Great mood, you made a nice horror game. The gameplay is a bit confusing, I kept the fire going and managed to scare away the monster once in the pipe room, but wasn't sure how to deal with it when it was somewhere else I needed to go. Good job overall!
