I loved the concept. The end was really good.

Nice game!!

bennybig98 2020-04-21 03:35

The graphics and story were great!

anystarabove 2020-04-21 03:37

such a great concept and content. it is hard to make a game that teaches you rich content without it seeming heavy handed, and you did this very naturally and artfully. well done!

Great work and great game!

Nice transitions, great aesthetic.

Such a huge and complex system made in 3 days! good job!

loginaut 2020-04-21 03:42

What a fun little game! It seemed like the only problem I ran into was food, so it was pretty straightforward to get through. It did seem like some of the flavor text referred to multiple days passing though, otherwise it was a very nice and cohesive experience!

I love the concept of the game, and found it really fun :) I hope you make more games like this because it was great. It's just a solid 5-10 minute experience that I kept playing over and over

Nice atmosphere and I enjoyed the switch between gameplay and story.

ranjan 2020-04-21 03:53

Nice! The UI was very polished, especially considering the time restraints. The ending was fun!

evgeniya-zapolnova 2020-04-21 09:00

Interesting concept! Mammoths eating meat... Uff, cool imagination!

flashviper 2020-04-21 17:33

I loved it! The writing was very good, and the ending was stellar!

Overall a pretty solid game! It's undoubtedly one of my favorites after playing 50 or so games :). I was happy to find that I could actually learn something about time travel, and, broadly, biology, from the game. I'd like to see more of games in this vein from future game jams.

My only gripe would be that it seems that you'd have to try hard to mess up and fail to extend their extinction. I imagined that after researching virus immunity, my DNA modifying virus would face some sort of resistance. Or how, after say researching digestion or thick skin, I would run into issues researching other topics due to the fact that certain animals or resources have become extinct instead (though the ending delivers this insight rather clearly).

Hilarious and solid entry! The game is quite easy, but the presentation and writing are so good, that it compensates clearly. Played a couple of times to see the different branches and writing. Well done!

Very cute game. I definitely could see this expanded, and heck, I could even see it being used as an educational tool of sorts as well, if done properly.

saucygames 2020-04-22 06:51

i know the mammoth too well

nek 2020-04-22 09:59

I would trade cats for mammoths any day, great game.

haro-games 2020-04-22 10:03

Lovely game with interesting mechanics and funny story, this could become a great serious game to teach about evolution ! Good job

ace17 2020-04-22 11:35

Wow. I was really doubtful about the amount of story vs actual gameplay, however I got hooked ... and retried until I reached the (very cool!) ending. Great artwork and writing! The icons for "Increased reproduction" and "herd cooperation" gave me a big smile. And the choice of music greatly contributes to the mood.

I had a lot of fun! My day job is bioinformatics, I also do a lot of scientific communication, and would love to make games about biology such as this one. We need more science games in our lives! Really enjoyed the amount of information, naming of genes, and sources. Wonderful job!

Really engaging game, it reminded me a lot of Plague Inc where you're just upgrading your subject in various ways and watching how it plays out. I think it's really fun to have these types of games cuz you can just replay and experiment around with various things. The VN portion was a pretty interesting mashup. I guess when you think of it, it's not too far off from a normal dating sim formula, you just swapped out the statbuilding portion with a tech tree of sorts. Neat twist to the formula and also a unique theme/story that's not commonly covered!

adamcyounis 2020-04-23 05:12

I really enjoyed this one. I thought the dynamics at play, mixed with the narrative were pretty well integrated, and though the music wasn't yours, the intro theme set the scene quite well. I managed to save the mammoth, and appreciated the little twist ending. Good stuff!

Interesting concept. But I had the feeling that my actions didn't do much, so I kept doing random stuff
