Very clever game mechanic.

I found your game to be very compelling even though it was simple. the art style was cool and unique. Loved the music. good job

Simple, satisfying, clever. Awesome game, congratas!!

I really enjoyed the music, and the game play was strangely relaxing, and fun! Good job

The simplicity of the game is really good. I had a lot of fun playing it. I like the simple yet very clear art. The camera movement also helps make the action interesting. Nice work!

Quite an addictive game! My only criticisme would be that the shake attack could use a little buff.

Love the graphics and animation style. Simple, but unique. Fun to play!

Simple game, but rather nice, surprisingly hard too! does it get increasingly hard? after a bunch of wave, my character was turning like crazy! I like the whole scene though, it felt iconic enough and the small animation sold it well!

I really dig the simple and crude graphics! The emperor names are a nice touch, kinda gives the game a little world.

Szép munka! Simple and clever design. The function of the secondary attack was not clear for me. Replacing the emperor is a funny move. I enjoyed it. Some kind of score system would be nice or a timer.

Thank you for the kind words everyone!

@joh: Enemies keep spawning faster during a round, and their initial spawn rate also increases a bit after each round. But the turning thing is unfortunately a controls bug.

@davidpeterworks @reddarkwh: Yeah, the roar attack is a bit underdeveloped, it's meant to push back everyone for a short bit for some breathing space when you are getting overrun.

Thanks for the feedback!

Very neat style and a simple, but well working concept that fits the theme very well =)

Smacking people with the shield gives a very satisfying impact sound and knockback! The visuals in general felt really slick and polished.

Some feedback: - The music started out pretty loud and scared me - I turned my computer volume down and then it was ok. - It felt a bit weird that my movement controlled the emperor instead of the shieldbearer. I think I would have liked it most if I was the shieldbearer and the emperor followed me (and if I turn 180 degrees I can walk through the emperor to get to the other side of him rather than him spinning around me). - Some sort of score indicator would have been really nice - how long did I live or how many people did I smack? If that was there I would probably get addicted and keep trying to do a little better :) - I didn't think to click any mouse buttons until I saw you mention the roar attack in the above comment - I was just running at enemies.

nice game~ we had a similar idea about defending a heart when brainstorming , glad to see you now realized in a better way. the music really gives it a feeling.

yscik 2020-04-24 13:37

Thanks @almost! I certainly need to do a better job of explaining the game & controls. You do control the bear, it's just the movement is only rotation around the emperor. I had some movement and emperor-lagging-behind mechanics in, just didn't have time to work out the kinks - like walking over the emperor didn't look too good :)

Thanks for the great feedback and ideas!
