Absolutely gorgeous game. Wasn't 100% on what to do; I was killing the monsters (wolves?) and collecting the glowy things on the ground, but Shiny keeps dying.

@amkingtrp Hello, thanks for playing! We added "How it works" in the, article to make it a little clearer. Shiny constantly losing its energy. And We should collect essences of light and heal Shiny on E button to keep it alive.

The controls felt a bit sticky and sluggish, and I think the icons aren't clear enough (some written text might be nice - took me a little while to figure out what 'E' did and when I could use it), but it's a very pretty game with a great atmosphere. I also think there's a lot of potential in the story. It's a really impressive accomplishment in such a short time, so well done!

Its shiny!

Really beauitufl game!! I ejoyed playing it as it was so aesthetically pleasing!! I wondered a little about the back story, maybe a short tutorial animation would have been nice to explain 'Shinys' past and situation and maybe a short bit of gameplay trying to find shiny in the forest before. All in all a really pretty game that has a lot of potential to go far!

if i could some up my review in a 2 emoticons ill say this :fox:  this game is so cute, and love the typeface you used on the logo and the cute little foxy guy the color pallet is so smooth and my only complaint would be it could do with a good Tutorial. that said i cant stop looking at how shiny it looks. <3 :3

Great art and the polish of the game, very intuitive design :). I will love to play with faster movements, character control is a bit rough and creates friction feeling when I want to take actions in the game. Great demo btw :D

A great idea with pretty good execution. The art was fantastic and the mood in a dark forest really worked and brought me into the game. The game was fast and engaging and you always had to do something. That being said, I think it was way too hard, with shinng constantly losing essence and everytime you went to collect more a monster would attack and you would lose. (Or I just suck at the game:I) The hitbox for the monsters were a bit clunky, but nothing major. So outstanding game overall, if a bit too difficult. (Might give it another shot, really want to see the end of the game.)

Cool game! Your new instructions made it very clear what to do and I enjoyed the concept and the art very much. I do think if you had more time you could work on making the animations feel snappier (melee combat is always tricky). Still I think you had a well executed idea that felt very polished which is tough to do in a jam so you should be very proud!

The art is astounding! Great job picking a color palette it gives the game such a good vibe. I felt like I moved too slow but other than that it was a cool game!

Nice mood, I was very pulled into the atmosphere

This is a pretty clear escort game. I did not realize shiny *needed* the energy until after I completed the game, but I had been doing that anyway. My main issue with the game was that hit boxes/hit detection felt a little strange. Facing left and right it was a littler awkward getting my timing right to take down the enemies, but I did adapt to it as I went along.

The art is pretty cute, though the 2D/3D thing probably didn't help me with figuring out the hit detection. When I got hurt, the screen turned a little too red for my tastes, making it a little too hard tro see things. Rather than tinting things red, it feels like a semi-transparent layer of red was dropped on top of the screen. The sound that plays when you recharge Shiny was very harsh and could've used some equalizing of the specific frequencies that caused that shrill effect.

Nice work!

Really beautiful graphics and interface. I also liked the sound effects. Good job!

The game has some great aesthetics: nice sound, great art and an incredible UI. But the game feels clunky to play because of the hit detection and the movement. Would love to see another project from the group with an improved feel.

Absolutely magical artstyle! I really want to play a full release Shiny game, because it is so, so pretty and intriguing. I want to explore this world of swordwielding foxes, rat-wolves(?) and living spacedebris!

The gameplay could be improved a bit though, - the triggerarea which lets Shiny move could be a bit expanded. - the spawnrate of the enemies seems a bit too high for any real exploration outside of the maintrack to happen. - there is bloodsplatter as indication of the brave Fox being hurt (I think?), but I have no clue how many hits he can take before dying. Does he die? Or is the bloodsplatter just to obscure the view? - Shiny dies a little bit too fast for my taste :D

But honestly guys, please make this a full game, I'm so in love with the world you crafted <3

Beautifull graphics, fighting is a bit confused because of the view and the size of the characters, so its difficult to understand the hitbox. Really good ambient, amazing artistics work on it.

I was really impressed by the technical level of your graphics ! It was very surprising, but at the same time I found that they were quite pretty, escepecially the sword of the main character !

The concept is simple, but efficient and it respects well the theme !

However, I had issues with hitting well the enemies, I think that it was due to the specific mix between 3D and 2D, indeed, I couldn't be accurate at 100% of the time.

Overall good work !

Great graphics and art style. Works really well with the dark and light theme, the neon colors are a nice change from oranges that normally feature in dark vs light games. Would be good to have a sound when you hit an enemy as it can feel a little bit floaty - solid mechanics though and level layout. Good job!
