A fairly simple game, but a working one, well done too! Presentation was surprisingly great for something that seemed so simple. The balancing of the actions too, although I did feel like it was too easy. Does the game get harder? it might be against the die spirit, but I think pressure of imminent doom would make it even better.
Still, liked what I played!
Very simple. I specially liked the art, I would like also some kind of background sound, its pretty plane when you are not rolling the dice, the SFX where great! I don“t know if everything is random, but it has a pretty good balance. Keep it up for a grater game!
Made it 38 days. The dice definitely turn against you after about 20 - 30 days... Well done!
Always love seeing other games made in Godot! Very interesting dice game, it's simple but satisfying to play.
I've been using Godot for a while, and I can offer my advice on signal usage: I try to control information flow in the scene hierarchy by using only function calls when talking down in the hierarchy (towards children), and only use signals when talking up (towards parents). This forces me to make sure higher objects track what children they have. It also forces children to not make many assumptions about what is going on above them. It seems to produce cleaner code and scenes when I stick to it.
That's my policy anyway, I hope it is of some value! And great work on your entry!
@no-grapes-games That's excellent advice. My main focus is certainly to decouple where possible and this seems like a good policy. Will try to keep this in mind moving forward.
This was a fun quick game! It felt like at one point I was on a death spiral and I think an interesting mechanic would to allow players to use another need at some conversion cost/other penalty
Super interesting game! Always desperate for dice out that "chicken leg":P Would like to see more features added in like: more activities, better UI(always show days it stayed alive or specific proportion of the add, substract things) and maybe random events appearing etc... In all, great game! Keep the good work!
27 days alive! I like the idea of balancing the different needs of the slime to keep it alive.
Fun concept! I like how the dice rolling mechanic forces you to make the best decision you can in the moment, which might not be the most optimal.
The animation of slime is cute. I may suggest the properties and activities are unlocked gradually to add some changes and difficulties to keep the slime alive.
cute animation and good idea :)
