It's simple but effective, I liked the depression theme and the mechanics aren't bad. Maybe the game over screen (kinda) should be faster or skippable.

Interesting idea for a game and very good execution. Part of the problem is that you lose your progress if you run out of time and them end up doing the jumps over and over again.
Great art and great music.
Liked it! The concept on a recurring dream and each day growing stronger to face it tie in well. Nice entry!
@eranot Thanks. You can skip the transition scenes by clicking the mouse. It is an undocumented feature  This actually lets you skip the ending too due to an oversight in my copy/paste rush to finish.
@mandrilltiger You don't really lose progress. You keep all your upgrades and you can pick up the health upgrades again. It was going to be longer with more areas, but the whole thing was made in about 10 hours so I just ran out of time...
@jake-bekker Thanks!
Fab LD entry. Loved the art and music. I had a little issue with the input controls. But I suspect that is a local problem. I like how you tackled depression - its a nice take on the theme. Top stuff.
Played the game, mechanics are cool. Found a bug with one of the environment not loading but overall nothing gamebreaking. Really loved that piano music played while sleeping, also the aesthetic is quite pleasing. Well done with the game.
Pretty good considering you practically had half the actual jam time to do it!
This is a pretty cool idea, and pretty well made. I encountered an issue when trying to leave the house where the sky loaded over top of the house without actually exiting (this might have had to do with trying to dash/shoot inside the house? I'm not really sure). I also encountered an issue when falling off to the right of the mountain where the screen just went completely black but the music kept playing.
As a super minor tweak, it might be nice if button presses could be held between screens, it felt a little weird to have to re-press the right button every time I went to a new screen.
Aside from those small things, I really enjoyed going through this game: the core gameplay is great, and the music really helps bring the theme across
Very touching story about your son. Cool idea, I had fun playing, but I have to say that the controls did confuse me a bit. great work.
I found this game via your post-mortem earlier today. I usually don't like platformers but this is exceptional. I like the fact that you can accumulate HP and abilities. It makes the game a lot more fun and playable. It took me many rounds to finally build up the HP to defeat the beast, but I did it. Well done compadre.
Very interesting game, especially when you hear the story that inspired it. The graphics are excellent and it fits (not sure about the word ^^) the theme pretty well. A very cool die and retry mechanic that illustrates your point perfectly. Only problem is that the musics resets when the player switches screens, which is too bad considering how wonderful the overworld theme is :). Anyway very good work especially if you did all that in only ten hours ! Hope your son enjoys it too !
Fantastic art and good idea! Well done.
Really good
Wow, you almost made a metroidvania in 10 hours, good job! I was enjoyng the whole experience, getting stronger to fight my inner demons, but on the 4 day I ran to the right after climbing the moutnain and the game softlocked, maybe some error while trying to load the new screen?
Still, great game, congratulations!
well done! great execution in all aspects  just one feedback; game is a bit hard and becomes frustrating after you collect all upgrades and still can't beat the boss/depression (which is kinda realistic tbh) I think it would be motivating and rewarding in all senses if it could be beaten doing hard work by waking up and collecting all the upgrades by not giving up for days. keep up the good work!
Great game but could not kill boss. :(
Good game. I killed the boss, but it was boring :( Without knowing his hp I didn't feel the progress
Neat game, killed the boss after many nights. It's a bit frustrating that there's a delay before you can jump after an attack, or that I can't press jump and attack at the same time. Also having to move my hands off to the mouse to skip the transitions could be improved by just skipping by pressing any key.
