Very cool idea! Although it is pretty difficult to control those units. Also sometimes camera just went crazy and I could see through the walls.

Nevertheless I've enjoyed commanding my blocks  Good job!

Looks cool. Too bad you did not make an OSX export.

zubspace 2019-04-29 09:03

The idea of distributing your mass among units is a very interesting concept. Would love to see more. Beware of my cube army roaming the land!

evan-m 2019-05-01 04:31

Great idea, I like how you have to balance size and number of units

triplefox 2019-05-01 04:39

I like this concept, for the gameplay to feel satisfying it could benefit from including some kind of chaotic element like in [this article](http://ludamix.com/dive/chaos/) I wrote on chaos in games. The game involves mass centrally, so some more use of physics elements would make sense.

bitzawolf 2019-05-01 04:39

Hahahaha! I had a lot of fun making some giant cubes! And the RTS system is surprisingly well finished for a 48-hour game jam compo! Well done!

marcus-gambit 2019-05-01 22:48

The mass distribution concept is very interesting. Controls are very intuitive and well implemented. You also succeeded in having a kind of natural physics. Another thing : you learn how to play the game by (safely) experimenting which is something I appreciate in games. Good job.

I liked it. In the osx build, MassTransfer needed to be renamed to MassTransfer.app to make it executable. Pretty good though!

Such a cool idea, very innovative -- I would have loved to see it fleshed out a bit more though, with sounds and a better on boarding process to teach me how to play. I kind of got what was happening, but wasn't sure why I would win or lose mass...

I think the idea is super neat, you should keep working on this!

querk 2019-05-04 21:01

really nice and nice game. interesting idea , something like agario and rts in one.

the tutorial is theoretically lacking, but in my opinion it gives you a great feeling of discovery: what it is, how I can use it, etc .. unfortunately, this game also did not challenge me, AI was a bit silly, it did not attack me, it did not develop quickly. this needs polishing. my Ratings in overall 4 and in inovation is 4

it's a lot of fun, like creating an army of small cubes, or one giant. while we attacking, some cube go out on antoher. it is relly very funny :D my Ratings in fun is 4.5

Graphically, it's simple, but the affectionate and perfect match with the gameplay, I really like this approach, unfortunately I can not give a very high rating. other games have worked harder on graphic. my Ratings in graphics is 3.5

I never know how to assess the theme, it is a very subjective issue, (I can not speak English well enough and I do not always understand it, and the topic can be interpreted in many ways) I think that for me, a strong 3.5 for the topic. I also never know how to judge humor, and i give the same as the fun so 4.5.

this is a compo game so really great work :D I would like to play next version where ai will be smarter, and game have dozen levels, maybe some campaign. i think that this would be cool :)

(sorry for my bad english i hope you understand everything)

@querk wow, thank you for such an informative review! I actually would like to continue work on this project. I really loved making it for Ludum Dare

erikkire 2019-05-09 19:41

Very interesting concept! With some polishing this could become something really fun. Some better AI is also missing but I hope you keep on working on this or similar concepts!

evan-minto 2019-05-10 05:23

Cool idea that I’d be interested in seeing fleshed out with more art and music and such. Took me a little while to figure out how it all worked, largely because the controls and camera are really finicky. Because I have to command the units in real time, the camera caused quite an issue as I'd always end up scrolled away from my units.

gonutz 2019-05-10 05:28

Hm, I am dropped right into the game without any explanation whatsoever. No control scheme, no tutorial, no story, nothing. I have to go to your game description for that and honestly, I still don't know what to do.

It seems sometimes the yellow cube makes my blue cubes bigger, sometimes smaller. Now they get larger just by moving them?! How do I even win this game?

Music or sounds are missing and the graphics are very minimal. I see that you put all your effort into creating the mechanics. It is a pity that they are so unclear. I feel that if I just knew how to really play the game, it would make for a nice challenge...

The buttons are not "readable", i.e. the icons give me no clue as to what they mean.

The minimap does not show all of the world.

Trying to click the button in the bottom-right hand corner will scroll the view accidentally. You have to be carful where you move the mouse.

I think I figured it half-way out, I move toward another cube and press the circle button. That makes me eat them. Done. Alright, a minute later I slowly crawled through the level and ate everything. My opponent's mass is now -8.773804E-05 which is slightly less than zero. I create anti-matter I think.

I think even though you spent your time on the mechanics, you did not balance them very well. There are a lot of buttons but in the end I really just needed one. Get rid of the others, they are just obstructing the real game play. Then the enemies could have at least tried to show some resistence. Why do they not eat yellow cubes themselves, making them larger?

I know that LD does not offer much time so I am sorry to write such a negative review. I am just trying to give you the real, honest experience that I have playing your game. It has some flaws, yes, but you can still be very proud of yourself for creating a whole game in 48 hours! Good job and I hope that all the feedback you get will make you learn and help you improve for future LDs. Looking forward to seeing what your next entries will look like :-)

@gonutz Thank you, I appreciate criticism, espesially if it comes such reasonably and in detail.

I actually have fixed some of those problems, that you and some other guys have pointed out. Everyone may now download the new (BUGFIXED) version from my itch.io page.

I would add here, there is a bar in the left down corner that displays a description whenever the cursor is on top of one of the UI elements. It also tells when the player has won.

musxue 2019-05-11 08:05

I like the game mechanic! And some music is greater! I think I need to play it again cause I don't understand: when I become a large blue, and there's only one medium yellow in the other side. I move towards it while suddenly I was coverd by red:( This is because of the scope? And differences between the yellow and the red? They are both enemies.

ivanpavlov 2019-05-11 15:42

@musxue if I understood you correctly, your cube was swallowed by enemy's one while it was moving in the direction of an yellow cube. That is why that happend: units can't do multiple orders at the same time, so your cube most probably had an order to move when the enemy's cube attacked, that's why it couldn't defend himself- it had the order to move.

About differences: yellow ones are not enemies. They are neutral, static(can't move), resources , free mass to let both the player and the enemy get bigger. In order to defeat the enemy player have to obtain greater mass than his rival. That's what yellow cubes for

attala 2019-05-12 18:10

I like this game mechanic. Sound would have done wonders to this game. Tooltips on the buttons would also have been nice. Overall a nice submission!

Not so bad, good game idea. Eating your enemy was a great idea.

divan 2019-05-15 14:30

Great job! Really like this game!
