Honestly, this is one of the best games here I've seen so far. The graphics is amazing, gameplay is great, upgrades are fun. Good job!

Cool game, I like the art style and the different weapons/spells, however I think the music and sound effect used doesn't really fit the gameplay though.
Very good ant smooth control ) Looks and plays great
Fun game ! i love the way you explain to your player how to play, I haven't seen this often in other games.
Great graphics and very smooth movement.
@alexfsmirnov @christopher-wong Thank you guys so much! I actually got the sound effects and graphics from somewhere else. I'll add that to this page right now. I don't really enjoy graphics and like to spend more time coding :)
@quagga Also thank you, I spent quite a lot of time trying to make it feel decent and fair.
@bnmkt Again, thank you! Yeah I don't enjoy long tutorials or piles of text, so I decided to do it this way.
The elevators blend into the background, which makes them hard to see. I kept hitting them on accident, and missed some souls because of this. Showing me upgrades that I cant afford confused me. I didn't notice the souls counter in the corner because it has no color or image, and thought souls were my energy thing which is more obvious in the UI. The energy / ammo mechanic was frustrating. I feel like I wasn't spamming shots, but it still forced me to frequently duck around corners and wait to recover energy. The pixel perfect collision with decorative objects felt odd. For example, why cant I walk though a bottle? The spread on the 3-shot was so wide that it was hard to make use of it. I liked the art and projectile / particle effects a lot.
@almost You're absolutely right, I definitely should have made something that crosses out upgrades you can't afford. Waiting for energy to recover was indeed very stupid at times, but the problem was that without it you could just spam shots from a distance. But I'll keep that in mind for later games! Thank you for your feedback, it really helps! :)
I like this upgrade system! It suits the theme. Elevator music too, but it sounds too happy for this game
@zimennik Haha true, I was looking for music and found that elevator music. Since I did not have a lot of time left and don't enjoy doing music/sound effects I was like; oh well I guess I'm doing this now  Thank you! :)
Amazing graphics! I enjoy the blood splatters around the game.
@arcus Thank you :) I'm not very good at level design, so I made projectiles spawn blood splatters. Not only to make it feel like they have an effect on the world, but also so that the player "designs" part of the level himself. Not sure how I should explain it, so I hope you understand what I mean :p
Nice solid twin stick shooter game. The controls were a little sticky at times (collisions etc), but overall, it worked great. I didnt't like the hp cost of the upgrades without a proper way to refill your hp (at least i didn't find any) Seems like an artificial way to make the game harder without balancing out the risk/reward factor.
The graphics were alright. The spritesheets you used for your pixel art did collide a little with the rest of the interface. A little polish in that regard would go a long way! :)
Played some levels until it felt repetetive (~5min). A little variation in the level sprites would help to get a some variety going.
The pixel aesthetic is on point, but some of the obstacles are hard to differentiate. The collisions are way too often and takes away from the flow of the game. The enemy projectiles are way too fast, either slowing them down or distancing the camera would help. I would have introduced some kind of health regain mechanic, we are at the hospital after all =)
The contrast of happy theme with the monsters are fitting with the pixel art. Nice job!
@duke Later un you can actually get upgrades that refill your health, but of course then you won't be able to purchase another upgrade, so its a tradeoff. Thank you :)
@alien-fox Yeah I may have gone a bit overboard trying to fill up the levels, I'll definitely keep that in mind next time. Hopefully I'll be a bit better at art by then so that I can make my own sprites. Like I said to duke, later on you get upgrades to refill your health. Thank you! :)
it's really funny as a game, I saw or not find but there is a way to heal?
@mimusangel Yes there is, later on the upgrades can give you more hp, but at the cost of not being able to buy another upgrade. Thank you :)
The animation and controls were nice and smooth but the difficulty is a bit unnecessarily punishing imo. I don't understand why the elevator music? I was listening to this and it was helping with the atmosphere a bit more lol https://burial.bandcamp.com/album/subtemple . But overall nicely done! Feels like a pretty substantial game here given the time frame!
@sam-machell Wow yes, that music would have been so much better. I did not have enough time and energy left to find good music, perhaps that was not the best decision... Thank you :) I guess it saved me a lot of time not making my own sprites, so that I was able to spend way more time coding (my favourite part)
Nice game ! The graphics are a little bit rough but the game play is cool. The one time use fireball is a little bit weird, it would have been better to have the spell be less powerful but on a cooldown. The elevator music made me laugh.
@valden Yeah it would have definitely been better if the fireball would have done less damage, also I should have put a timer on the fire, wouldn't have been very hard to do. Thanks for the feedback :)
Good and fun game. I love the smooth controls and the art style.
@retti01 Thank you :) I did not make the sprites myself though, I'm horrible at art, but I'm glad you liked it!
@pseudobytes Well I'm in the same boat then. I'm also horrible in art. Good game anyway.
pretty classic but it works great and the best on the game is its design and animations a big congratulations to you
@tasakasama Thank you! I'm glad you liked it, I really appreciate it.
Great controls, shooting feels pretty good but I wish I could shoot over "low" objects like stools or flipped over tables. Sadly the audio design really wrecks the great graphics, I couldn't deal with the sfx or music. Something to think about for next time!
@bentebent Yeah more people didn't like the audio. And honestly, I don't really either. Shooting over low object would have actually been a great idea, I didn't even think about doing that. Thank for the feedback :)
The game is good, but maybe you should make an animation when you or other creatures attack, this way the player can react to the enemies attack.
Why does the nurse can throw bleeding magic?
One little tip about the colliders, they can be trigger or physical objects, you can create two colliders, one for where your feet (physical collider) are and another one to where the rest of the body is (Trigger). this way you can avoid problems like "How Can't I pass there??" as the trigger collider doesn't physically "Collide" with other objects.
I loved the way you shown the controls to the player, I think I saw that on "The binding Isaac". You did an awesome job applying that on your game as well.
The BGM is great, but I think that with the lore saying that you are the only survivor, this calm BGM doesn't really fit.
You did an awesome job on this game, congratulations!
@shunaky Thanks, this actually really helps. I'm always having trouble with colliders. That sounds like a good idea. I never played the Binding of Isaac, I just thought it would be a good idea :)
@pseudobytes The best way to learn how to work with them is trying them out, you can get it really quickly experimenting with the options.
What a pile of... blood and guts! Honestly this is one of the best games I've played this Ludum Dare. The pixel art is fanstastic. Especially the character animation, impressive. Stunning game for just a weekend of dev. Congrats.
@oddsocks Thank you SO much! I'm glad you liked it :)
Wish I could play it, but the keyboard inputs (WASD) didn't work for me in the HTML5 web version.
@jason-porritt hmm that's strange, maybe you could try the downloadable version if you really want to play it. I made it with that in mind and later ported it, so maybe thats the reason.
@jason-porritt Same thing happened to me... reloading the page fixed it. Well worth another shot.
Fun game! Very well polished for an LD submission. I like the upgrade possibilities at the end of the levels. Well done!
@nava Thank you :) I really appreciate it!
Cool game! Solid foundation, and design choices. It's simple, but challenging. Well done!
@szabe Thanks! Haha, the foundation of the code isn't so great though, luckily you can't see that :p The stress of having to produce something decent quickly got to me.
Just spent 20m painting blood everywhere, loved it!
@black-potion Haha sounds great, I'm glad you liked the game, or at least one mechanic of it :p
Very delicate design, happy background music makes me feel that monsters have become very cuteXD. But my technology is still too bad. I challenged many times, but all ended in failure
I couldn't choose the power-up I really wanted on first floor. :/ It's a great game anyway - I loved the elevator music!
@tamail Yeah I actually did that on purpose. I give the player the feeling of freedom, but I force the player to choose dash to gradually teach him/her the game. Thanks for the feedback :)
Really cool game, loved the graphics, took me by surprise the first time when i found out a zombie and it had ranged attack.
@edevjogos Thank you, I really appreciate it :)
